but no i dont think you are grasping it... sony are paying to keep it away from others, not build it

if there is no deal, spiderman still comes to Avengers

so its nothing like the examples you gave.

they are not adding value to their customers...
Well, from Crystal Dynamics own statements including a NewsWeek article it doesn't seem to be that at all. In fact it looks like something the team specifically looked to add to the product, working with Sony. Sony does own the rights. Is it not fair for Sony to make a Spiderman movie and not be able to include Thor in it because they don't own those rights?

Regardless of this specific case, the examples stand. Features get added to products by brand and company all the time. I just hesitate to brand all these things as "anti-consumer." I think that's another term that gets WAY overused and over played, like many other example I won't even bring up in this forum. ;)

Weird, the devs said it was 30fps, not "up to 120fps".

I think what this is saying is the 'Optimized for Series X' list has removed Ray Tracing as a feature. I guess they are struggling on the software side and don't know if it'll make launch right now?

Is there actually a confirmed list of launch games for both new consoles? The communication from both companies is confusing. By watching closer, it seems that neither XSX or PS5 have much to offer at launch! Making it very hard to judge which console to buy. Or maybe wait a year for games to come out. I don't want to play current gen games on new hardware only.
Is not confirmed, I am agree the communication is a shit but for Covid situation is also a miracle (born from the hungry of money) that
we have console launch this year.

I will buy both because looks like I hate any good advice related to money
Though not an official confirmation, @BGs hinted at an IPC increase WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY back almost 1000 pages.
Yes but I don't want to discover was also another joke/prank as his numbers for PS5 so I prefer to be skeptical with his comments, if he is correct
I will happy see that huge improvement 20% of RDNA and 25% for RDNA 2.

Also as he work with VR so his IPC could be different than a "normal" game, the IPC varies depending of the type of job, the number which usually
AMD or NVIDIA said are just an average for current games.

Sony does not own the rights to Spiderman, they've owned the film rights since 1998.

That's the only rights they own.

It doesn't really matter which definition you're trying to lock down here.

So the beauty of Spider-Man, and what Spider-Man represents as a character, and as a world is… Again, it comes back to the relationship with PlayStation and Marvel. We happened to be… once you can execute and deliver, when it comes down to choices of where and what Spider-Man can be, that’s a relationship question that PlayStation absolutely has the rights to, that as you guys know, with Sony’s ownership there, and Marvel with Sony saying, ‘Hey, this is something we can do. This is something we can do on this platform.

That's from an executive at Crystal Dynamics. It's quite clear that regardless of whether Sony has the game rights, SpiderMan is very much a character that Marvel has locked to PlayStation. Considering Marvel already said the future of Spiderman games are on Playstation, Spiderman is a first party game and it will only be available in the PS versions of Avengers.... well you do the math.

I guarantee you, he will never be this concerned whenever the PS5 gets an inferior port.

Of course, it's the entitlement of PCMR members which rubs so many people the wrong way. His entire post is basically lazy dev rhetoric, if posted by normal folks would result in a ban. The fact he can't differentiate between engine being developed on PC =/= game code working well on PC =/= game code being shitty in itself.

What does "not that it was such a unique and special snow fake ps4 game" even mean?
Poor thing btw poor Alex Batman

He's venting that a shitty ass PS4 game isn't running well on his ultra-expensive hardware. There's nothing special or unique about the game which should result in this, I mean he's technically right, but those are...interesting choice of words to describe the tech on that game.

I so wish Epic release the UE5 demo for benchmark next-year, if it's actually tailored to run around I/O of PS5, it'll be an eye-opener for many PC elitists.

It's a shame they will complain someone ruined their dick measuring contest instead of enjoying the game with far more performance choices than the OG version.

Now explain why yourself and most of this forum for some reason defend this like it doesn't suck? lol
Who said I'm defending this? I'm just stating what happens, not just on gaming, but on any business. We see this on streaming services, cable networks etc. Every leverage a company can have to bring more customers, they will use it. We can all be disgusted by this, hold hands and sing kumbaia, but let's not pretend this is something that will go away just because, there will always be customers ok with it and customers angry at it.

he is practically saying that Spider Man would not be in Avengers because Sony own the rights.

so sony paid that they could create the character or at least let them use him in the game. both sides benefits.

so many people just ignorant or dumb to understand that.

Shhh, working hard to make youre game better is something Xbox fanboys can't understand. Thats why they support that Halo disaster. Xbox fans are happy that nobody at MS cares about quality of their games and are not overworking to deliver something better than x360 game.
I cant blame every 343I employee for its "poor" showing. It was the choice of upper management to stick with an old engine and tack on new features - selling it off as XSX made. Right...

If I was a fan of the game, I would blame management. It mustve been gut wrenching for the people that work on the project being held back by a legacy system (although I believe Bungies Destiny is a branch of Slipstream Engine...? So im not sure if I can blame it on that either... But it was apparently in the "Employee exit reports").

But yeah... theres gotta be some fuckery going on and didnt really get that premium feel... I really hope they pull through though. Even if im not playing that game or its platform. (There's no hook for me)

(Disclosure: I do have rose tinted glasses from Bungies Halo1)

But yeah... Sonys first party games are pretty much in a league of their own. They ""have"" to be since they are system sellers and carry the brand.

Still need to play GoT, Tlou2, Shadow of the Colossus, The Last Gaurdian, Days Gone, Death Stranding and finish Spiderman (but 3 of those will probably have PS5 patches so im waiting and playing the rest).

Arghhh.. the luxury of choice :lollipop_beaming_smiling:

Why is it the fud that was spread about PS5 are actual XSX problems. Those guys were projecting??

I was told 52 cu's And all that power. I was told XSX will have the ray tracing advantage. Yet RT is getting removed out of a walking sim game that has showed no dynamic actions,no fighting, no action rolls,no jumping. straight walking.

Whats going on here.?? No captured on XSX footage to date. Patching in RT, Removing RT. The XSX is looking spooky.
Xbox has no RT games at launch?? They told me all the power, Better RT, 52 CU's. Where is the RT in XSX??

geordiemp geordiemp mentioned that there were some leaked documents that talked about the issue.

I'm sure it's in his comment history somewhere.

There has been a few rumblings about xbox dev kits and MS work on velocity architecture, it would explain why stuff like Halo is still on PC ? Somethings up.

This was over a month ago and its just rumours (but from Beyond 3D moderator so more likely correct than a Random youtube guy and he is referring in detail to Xbox dev kit release notes)

Cory Barlog director of God of War on the PS5 and what it means for the sequel

For me, the SSD is amazing. I'm impatient and I don't like any kind of load times," Barlog said in the interview. "So we've gone through great lengths in this series - all the way back to the PS2 - of trying to hide any kind of loading. So you never really feel like you're having that artificial layer of the game break you out of it. We let the menus do that, and the upgrading and stuff. There's some really cool stuff I think we're gonna be able to do."

"I do think that we're gonna have a lot of interesting surprises from different studios," Barlog said. "Even games that you're like, oh I'm familiar with what they're doing there, it's gonna be a lot of interesting stuff that I think people are gonna start trying. It might be a couple of years before we start to really see the true magic that I think people are gonna be able to accomplish with any of this hardware. So it will be super exciting."

If devkits aren't final, it means hardware cannot be produced. Which makes me wonder how long Microsoft can stretch the holiday period definition? Does it count if they don't remove Christmas trees from their offices till next June?

If only he had a Playstation 4 to play it the way it was meant to be played. ;) .. j/k. If I were a PC only player looking fwd to finally being able to play a game ported over, I'd be disappointed too.
