RT logo has been removed 'The Medium' (Up: Bloober confirm RT 100%, logo removal a 'mistake')

mod edit

Mistake - RT confirmed by Bloober

So it seems recently the mention of raytracing for xsx has been removed FOR Medium but the pc version on steam still has it as a mentioned feature .seems a bit odd to remove a mentioned feature .

So halo infinite raytracing is coming later , medium raytracing is not coming at launch (or maybe ever ) on series X.

What's going on ? Seems odd

Hope it is ironed out soon.

That could actually happen to be honest.

Just find it a little odd that they dropped it. I'm guessing is that they are struggling to get RT to work for some reason and they dropped it so it can be ready as a launch title.

Then again it was weird that we really didn't see any games running on the XSX plus there's all those rumors of Microsoft having issues with sending the dev kits out. Maybe all this had something to do with Medium not having RT at launch (I'm assuming it's coming later).

Wut?

I couldn't care less about RT in Halo. It's a competitive shooter.

But The Medium? This is the one game that should have it. lol wtf

It's probably just an error.

If it's not, then I'd expect it'll be patched in down the road.

Still, it does make you wonder...

With everything we've seen so far being almost all either CGI, in engine trailers or just flat out running on PC, as well as what a complete shit show Halo Infinite was, it does make you wonder if there isn't something wrong either with the XSX itself, or if the XSS/Lockhart is causing those development problems, that Xbox fans are so desperate to assure everyone won't happen, in also having to make all games work on a second, far less powerful system.

Will someone tell the lazy devs to flip the switch that turn on 25TF when you are using Ray Tracing?

"Without hardware acceleration, this work could have been done in the shaders, but would have consumed over 13 TFLOPs alone," says Andrew Goossen. "For the Series X, this work is offloaded onto dedicated hardware and the shader can continue to run in parallel with full performance. In other words, Series X can effectively tap the equivalent of well over 25 TFLOPs of performance while ray tracing."

Honestly didn't know Raytracing was going to be used on The Medium. Didn't expect it since the game is rendering two worlds at the same time. Raytracing just seemed a bit wishful thinking.

Hopefully they can make it 60 fps.

Got any images that aren't cutscenes?

Luckily there's an actual gameplay video so you can judge the visuals for yourself from it. Take into account that it's on YouTube so the quality will be affected.

Also the trailer had some gameplay in it as well.

With that said I don't think the final product will be that far behind the cutscenes.

Also incase anyone is interested Digital Foundry talked about the game a bit in this video.

Look the x1x is a fantastic console that proved to me that MS engineers arent hacks. XSX looks to be even better designed.

I think Watch Dogs RT will be a good first test and most likely a good barometer for the gen going forward similar to CoD Ghosts and BF4 at the start of this gen. If there are any problems they will show right away, but I highly doubt it. The RDNA 2.0 card in the xsx should have enough power to brute force anything. PCs dont have the fancy I/O of xsx and PS5 and they can handle ray tracing just fine.

Native 4k and RT just ain't happening on these consoles.

Pick one and live with it.

Even on PC we need DLSS to save our arses in RT titles, and that's even at resolutions well below 4k.
Ratchet is native 4k with rt reflections.
GT7 is native 4k 60 fps with rt reflections.
Demon Souls is native 4k 30 fps with rt shadows.
Spiderman is open world native 4k 30 fps with rt reflections on all puddles.

Tag, you're it.
Guys if you care so much for visual, just play on PC and stop complain. You ALL know there isn't a better place for graphic whore than PC.

But if you want to play on console because it's easier (big lol on this) or because you want to play on your couch with your TV (another big lol here), just buy a console and stop complain about graphics.
Next gen games are going to be very pretty, just enjoy things and stop bitching.

I know this wont be useful because... well people tend to act like they own the company they defend but still, it feels good to say it from time to time.
