Because they have one console. And that's their main (or only) gaming platform. So if they're stuck with one piece of hardware for 6 years because they're broke and can't buy another one, or mommy and daddy won't buy them a second gaming platform because the house rule is one per generation, they got no choice but to beat their chests their plastic box is the best.

I thoroughly enjoyed last gen when PS3 gamers would be brave enough to say their 720p game at that "rock solid 26-30 fps pacing" looks better than a PC game on a good rig.
