I'm a big xbox fan, have been since the beginning, but I'm wondering why I would get one since it seems all the games will be on PC as well? What are the xbox exclusives for the next gen? (that won't be on PC) Halo Infinite will be on PC right?

The Xbox brand isn't just the console, you can clearly see this by just looking at their marketing and services. If you play on Game Pass for PC then you are an Xbox customer.I'm a big xbox fan, have been since the beginning, but I'm wondering why I would get one since it seems all the games will be on PC as well? You must own your own company and work 12 hours a day 7 days a week.Wha? How?
Teach me o wise one.
Yea, it'll have an SSD. That is the next gen factor. Every generation people ask "Whats so great about this coming gen? It better not just be a graphical jump" In reality that's what most of us here want. I think we're all too stupid to realize that this is the jump we've been looking for, the SSD/bottleneck and I/O speeds. Up till now, game design has not changed, on the developers side anyway. They finally get a game changer and most of the time people just make fun of it... because all we really care about is better graphics, thats the honest truth. We just want our games to look prettier and run smoother.Everyone saying that Lockhart won’t be a leap are obviously forgetting that it will include an SSD - which Sonygaf has lead me to believe is the most important factor in next gen.
Don't want to get into this age old argument (tons of that on here already), but I believe otherwise myself. Let's not take it further.Man you need to drop that argument. supporting low end is not going to prevent high end from looking good. It never has on the PC if the developer chose to take advantage of the high end hardware.

What you think of this?
Is 200 just a wet dream?
I know you know something
Microsoft doesn't care about selling hardware, though.
Why sell a cheaper XsX at a loss when you can sell a X1X or even a X1S?
Microsoft has the pockets to do something crazy like this if they choose too.
That's not recent, they have been doing this since late last year.
Pour one out for Respawn and Apex on Switch.on the other hand I hate to see multiplatform devs being forced to design their games around such a weak hardware
You should source. When all we have is the word of some guy, and the rumors are this extraordinary...
This is not getting enough attention imo.I'm confused.
I thought the lockhart is the Series S?
And what do you mean by base model Series X? How many Series X's are there? Are you telling me they're flooding the market with many models and confusing people?
99% sure Lockhart is $299
75% XsX is $499
And we might actually get that this generation because of these consoles architecture, that includes the SSD. You know what, I think people should stop specifically point to the SSD, because the SSD is just one component of why these consoles architectures are a leap forward. Not me, I would forego all of that for better AI and more responsive, dynamic and intricate systems.
Which still feels like a mistake. Ps5 digital 2.5 times more power at likely only about $100 more makes the $299 an absolute shit deal. If I were Sony Id advertise that shit into the ground. Now if the PS5 digital is 499 and the disc is higher it becomes a different ballgame tho.
I highly doubt they are going to do 4TF. That's less than the PS4 pro. I think it'll somewhere between 6-8 just to be a step higher than the Xbox One X.MS holding the entire generation back with their shitty 4TF machine.
I'm conflicted in wanting Xbox to fail, on one hand theyre gotta be a competitor to light a fire under Sony's ass, on the other hand I hate to see multiplatform devs being forced to design their games around such a weak hardware
Current gen are GCN flops. Next gen is RDNA flops. An RDNA flop is like 1.5-2x a GCN flopI highly doubt they are going to do 4TF. That's less than the PS4 pro. I think it'll somewhere between 6-8 just to be a step higher than the Xbox One X.
16GB (maybe 13 for games)is not a lot for 4k but i believe lockhart should the same amount anyways, no point in having less that would be a pain in the ass for developers16
Ram requirements drop as you lower in resolution as 4k vram consumption is concid... you know what, no. Keep going all.
The only difference between Series S and Series X are the teraflops. It's the same exact architecture, same exact CPU and same exact GPU with just lower TFs. oh and the SSD. The only difference there will be is the resolution honestly but it will be an easily 1080p 60 FPS ONLY machine. Ur not losing anything. You will be paying $100 or $200 dollars less for lack of 8 TFs
MS holding the entire generation back with their shitty 4TF machine.

If they did that they would lose money in a way they never did before.
Sure, gamepass and Live could compensate for the loss, but still.
And here's the thing, while most of the hardcore crowd is excited to see what MS can do, i don't see any of the more casual players talking about it at all.
The consensus is that RDNA2 is much more efficient than the GCN architecture, the one that the PS4/One GPU's are built on. So really a 4TF Series S consoles with the CPU would still be more powerful than a One X.I highly doubt they are going to do 4TF. That's less than the PS4 pro. I think it'll somewhere between 6-8 just to be a step higher than the Xbox One X.
Devs can do whatever they want, they can design around the lowest powered machine or they can aim high and then scale down. It doesn't have to run on the weakest platform while they develop. It's extra work to have to optimize for another platform but people underestimate how low you can go to get a game running on weaker hardware. We had 360/PS3 games running on an iPhone and we got the Witcher 3 running on a Switch. Even when it was just X1 vs PS4; developers didn't deliberately reduce the PS4 resolution to 720P-900P to match the Xbox. Then there's the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X where developers were openly willing to bump up all kinds of graphic settings beyond resolution and frame rate and even shove in better textures. Games can also use techniques like dynamic resolution and can even cut frame rates in half to maintain the visual fidelity that people expect from next-gen to be able to run on a weaker console. A lot of these developers are going to support PC and they probably aren't going to expect everyone to have the latest high-end GPUs from the last couple of years.
And they learned from losing $125 per unit. They said "fuck that" when it came to the Xbox One. But, they could revisit that in the future. I don't think they'd want to take a $125 loss again, but they might be willing to take a $25 loss, maybe $50?Isnt that exactly the reason TO do something as bold as that? A price that low would win back the casual market with no questions asked. Also, they took a $125 dollar hit per unit with the 360. It’s definitely not an unprecedented strategy by any means.

I am sure ps5 digital is 500 and disc is 500 as well.Which still feels like a mistake. Ps5 digital 2.5 times more power at likely only about $100 more makes the $299 an absolute shit deal. With the digital version being offered with more ssd space .

So the lockhart is 4tf RDNA (8tf GCN) where the X is 6tf GCN

Hm. That's not much then. You must own your own company and work 12 hours a day 7 days a week.
My monthly overhead without payroll and supplies is 6k.
Thats how.

Yup.GamePass to them is more important than game attach rates were in the previous gen. They can justify a $399 Series X on the back of subscriptions.
