PREACH!

But hey!!! Let's not call him an insider because "hE nEvEr cLaiMed tO bE oNe", Tidux too. lol
Reminds me of this gem.
Those pesky "insiders".

17 games in 60 min? no way... I think they are going to give 10 min to all the games (little gameplay for all) so I guess 6-8 games. And I don't think they are going to present two games of the same "category" like Re8 and Silent Hills.

For me this is a more possible list:
-One big first party game (Horizon2/Gow2)
-One AAA that will come in 1.5-2 years after the launch (Spider Man?/new IP)
-One racing game (GT7/Riiiiiidge Raceeeeer)
-One cute little platform (Knak 6/R&C/New iP/Crash)
-BluePoint magic
-Housemarque (we need more studios whit simple names)
-Third Party game (cod?)
-Third Partygame (Remaster of RDR time exclusive?)
-2/3 little indies whit a fast montage

and stop IMHO
I don't agree with your list. This is not a state of play presentation. This is the future of games with next gen. Sony will come out with games that demonstrate their next gen tech.
I don't believe remasters and 2d pixel indie games will be presented. I also don't see any sort of teasers to be presented. Jim said they will show games that can only be done with next gen. Some insiders say that sony pulled out some 3rd parties because they don't have gameplay that demonstrate ps5 capabilities.

I swear, Timmyboah has been yapping about those DF faceoffs since forever. It's like he's more excited about proving miniscule differences in slowmotion zoom mode than actually enjoying the games. Jesus what a petty, meaningless outlook :messenger_beaming:

Yeah it's going to be great... If for eg. devs did xbox at 4k and ps5 at 15% or so less and its was upscaled via temporal injection then no one will notice as it defied pixel couting at 1440p base res on the UE5 demo.

So if res will be almost indistinguishable then wheres the advantage?

Unlikely to be from framrate as CPU is almost the same when you add on the extra work of io and maybe more to the xbox. 1-2 frames potential difference would be nothing to care about.

Then we go to loading and most likely a huge and obvious win for PS5. So easy to show to casuals/ wider audience.

Then we have probably more useable ram due to faster io so less needed to be stored and the fact more assets can stream in due to the ssd and io so higher asset quality.

Should be more noticeable than a tiny res difference with clever tricks used.

No in game loading or unnecessary extra elevators 😀 (Im sure we will still see tight caves or elevators if games are in that setting lol)

Maybe better audio? That will also be a bonus but probably not easy to compare.

Yeah I cant wait for the analysis as I get the feeling a lot of hardcore xbox fans have built up a ridiculous narrative and it's not possible to back it up.

As mentioned before we had Dealer saying 40 fps or whatever it was would be the difference. Deluded.

I predict some upset twitter users when very close comparisons drop and in some cases PS5 advantages show.

That's a bad look for the worlds most powerful console as the way it's been built up it should be ahead everytime and shouldnt have to lower any settings to match PS5. 🙄

Very true. When these warriors live to put the other consoles down as opposed to playing and enjoying what they have its gone too far and might be time for a new hobby.

I enjoy playing the games and occasionally look at the competition. But as long as whats on screen looks good to me, Im fine.

For any Destiny 2 fans in here, Destiny 2 will run at 4k/60 on NG hardware and have cross-gen play, just announced

Expected but good to see 60fps confirmed. I think next gen will use 4K to explain any resolution that has any type of upscale, temp injection, checkerboard or any other technique to get to 4K. There will be some native 4K but the techniques will be so good will it be noticeable.

I can agree but I think they want to push out first what we can expect for the first 1 year on the ps5, and in august after Xobx dropped also their bombs Sony can do a State of Play with other huge games coming in the future to try and shadow what Ms drops...
And then we have the time problem... You cant present allot of things in a good way and have only 60-70 minutes.

Now: open the cat and you will find a SD with the teaser of God Of War 2...

Ori Dev: PS5’s Super-Fast SSD is Nice For First Party Titles But Multiplats Will Be Developed for the Lowest Common Denominator

On paper, the SSD inside the PS5 has the edge over the next-gen SSD inside the Xbox Series X, but according to Mahler, it doesn’t make sense for third-party developers to adjust their titles around Sony’s SSD. Instead, the Ori creator believes that the majority of third-party devs will just develop for the lowest common denominator – e.g. the Xbox Series X and PC.

“I would be shocked if most third party developers would not just develop their games for the lowest common denominator”, Mahler wrote on the ResetEra forums. “I mean, there's literally 0 chance that levels will get changed just because the PS5 can load them faster, simply because it's way too expensive and work intensive to do that.”

“The super-fast PS5 SSD is nice for first party, but it won't make any economical sense to heavily adjust your games to suit one particular platform. On PCs and the Xbox, you'll have to work with what's there. So it's 2 platforms against 1. The scenario pointed out in the OP is highly unlikely.”

I hate to be that guy, but to be fair, there's not a whole lot he could be playing right now on his console...

Good luck to him when DF faceoff hits. Put the two GPUs next to each other and you will that XSX gpu is only good at Tflops. Everything else is slower due to frequency. This includes resterization, Geometry, and cache bandwidth. Also PS5 might actually have higher ACEs count (8 vs 4). If anything, the two consoles will output same native resolution with PS5 having superior geometry and textures for obvious reasons.

People, temper yer expectations.

It's June, I don't think it makes sense for Sony to blow their full load over each and every one of your faces right now. They gotta save something for the months up til October.

Expect one megaton, a couple new i.ps and some 3rd party crap. Plus hardware itself and/or system, OS features.

Only COWARDS fear disappointment.
EMBRACE THE HYPE!

EXPECT THE WORLD

PS5 has created a method for it that is like releasing the GPU from the cage, (actually still in the same 16GB GDDR cage) but PS5 has the ability to refresh what's in the cage so quickly that with a little of synchronization between the parts (IO complex the GPU the CPU and the GDDR) and with some limitations in our eyes it seems that the GPU has been able to get out of the cage and be free.

This step is so important that it does not matter if you have 10 Tflops or 17 Tflops it is more influential graphically speaking and in game mechanics leaving the cage than the difference of Tflops by far.

If the studies use the IO well, there will be no possible comparison in DF, even if DF in their analyzes were less pixels in PS5, the quality of the assets will be so different that a resolution comparison will be meaningless. And I don't see how the devs are not going to use the newly released assets of Zbrush when that means saving money and time.

I hope the translator is working fine.

All of this i learned here, twitter swenney and demo UE5. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

They already said info will be spread across this and other presentations.

Yeh but still some are expecting multiple megatons, console design, price and a tickle around the proverbial nether regions (Full BC going back to the Snes/full OS reveal) on top.

Cliche but I'm going in with lowish expectations, I just want to see Silent Hill and the look of the damned thing!

Fable on ps5? wtf?

I think that part about Fable is likely wrong, or maybe a different title with the same name? But that WOULD be funny as all hell if Fable rebooted and was not an Xbox exclusive anymore, wouldn't it? Not QUITE the shock that say God of War going multi-platform or something like that would be, but pretty damn close! I'd pay good money to see people go absolutely nuclear if that were to happen. :)

So, he's saying XSX and PC will hold next gen back? Hmm...

I hope not, I think that series (Fable) is extremely mediocre and hope Sony spend energy/resources on new IPs.

Well based strictly on SSD bandwidth, that's true, right? At least temporarily for PC, and probably gen-wide unless Series X gets a revision with upgraded I/O speeds and whatnot.

He's basically just saying games that take full advantage of PS5's SSD will need to be scaled back in one way or another on XsX and PC's with slower SSDs, right?
