had a go at the burning elmo shirt, not bad for 20 mins work, due to the way the game smooths out textures you have to draw slightly differentl watching the preview on left to see how it turns out. Might go back and tweak the flames.

Yeah like the supposed special hybrid flowers that are the same colour as the regular colours but you supposedly need to make the rare colours that the youtube crowd have been spouting. Errm seems it's bullshit the guide mentions nothing at all about these supposedly identical coloured special hybrids. Theres huge colour tables that will show you the rarity of certain colour combinations spawning hybrid colours and that's pretty much it. The chances of getting the rare colour from a certain pair is just down to the rng in the game no magical special red to make purple pansies.

The guide is amazing, i was expecting just a pile of generic simple detail to pad it out but damn they go into all the games systems like weather and all the tiny things in huge detail. Seems diy recipes that you sometimes get from villagers when you visit them in their homes and they are crafting. Certain ones unlock only when you have obtained certain totals of them and it also depends on the villagers personality type wether you'll have a chance of getting a certain one it seems there's a pool of diy recipes for each villager personallity type. I learned so much from just a 10 min flick through, i need to sit my ass down and read this thing in total.

So, my OG switch broke down, meaning I pretty much lost Julian and Sherb and all my hard work in a matter of 5 minutes.

So, I have a new Switch!...The old switch now belongs to my fiance where Julian and Sherb are now, but my switch no longer can connect to the internet and no longer be useable without attached joycons...so thats been fun...

As usual, if anyone is on the look out for Julian and Sherb, please tell me. They were my sweethearts and now I'm sad they're lost to the offline void

Gotta say, after playing this one for awhile, I liked new leaf a lot more. I dont hate new horizons, but the absolute glacial pace it takes to accomplish anything in the game is starting to get frustrating.

I think the special red rose hybrid is suppose to be a real thing from datamined info but it could also be wrong

I've been wasting days and days of time travel and rain trying to get blue for nothing because blue is not showing up for me the 1.6% is suppose to be from datamine info though

On the flower thing - tbh I'm getting colours from combinations that shouldn't be possible from the charts. E.g. I got two blue roses from a patch that was purely white and orange roses. I think it is largely just RNG with the multiplier being affected by a characteristic of the rose that you can't see.

The guide says red bred with red for roses can commonly spawn either red white or black roses or very rarely blue. There is only one type of red rose it's down the rng percentages chances of it spawning a black or a blue.

Whoa, I had this hybrid flowers thing all wrong. I thought if I had say a red and blue flower next to or diagonal from each other it would yield a purple flower. WTF at two white flowers breeding a blue one.

We also considered during these quarantine times, the waiting time was like 3 weeks and that was just too much, so me and fiance just split the difference for a new Switch and presto
We got lucky and found a site that sells computer parts in Sweden had quite a few Switches, and not many people looked there

I'll send it in for repairs when I go back to visit family in the States, whenever that will be in these times

I'll trust that over youtube as i have seen quite a few videos where they are stating incorrect stuff, one of them been you can only get some of the flower seed bags for your town and the rest you have to find in other towns when i have managed to experience first hand seeing all flower seed bag types in nooks cranny. you onnly get bags for 3 flower types at a time but they do eventually change to cover all the flower breeds. Seems a lot of youtubers at tripping over their dicks to be the people to post videos first on anything and accuracy be damnned. Some of them are pretty obnoxious too.

I believe you are correct the sad part is the top youtubers that Nintendo often invite to Smash events like Austin John and AbdallahSmash026 are they type with large followers that put up stuff fast

AbdallahSmash026 had one video where he placed the Lily of the valley plants close to the flowers saying they should help your hybrids grow so he did a 7 day time travel skip experiment to claim it as true but he did not do a control where he did not use the 5 star island flower. It could have worked in the past games of the series or believed to work but a lot of these youtubers create videos for the sake of views and clicks and not because they are true

so yeah I wanted to get the guide book to have facts over fake or dreamed up content

kinda want an Art Guide now though I am not sure I trust this community to get all the updates info correct without making up facts again but for a start this guide book is a must have since you can trust it

They do. Isabelle will say there’s a guest visiting the campsite yada yada when you start if you have some one. Maybe it stops once you’re full (even if someone leaves).

no this is the first time you can choose who moves in before you had to do the trick where if you have a friend that has an animal who is boxed up to move if you visit your friend you can invite that one to move in because they are moving out that trick still works

this one was suppose to be even easier but after a few days someone you did not invite moves in if you did not fill the slot
I want to be able to keep my slot open until I have Raymond or Judy

I had this same problem with diagonal bridges. I also went with stone bridges because it was what matched best for me when joining paths. Although brick probably would of looked nice as well.

I had a full island and when I got my first 4 star rating a red octopus came this past Sunday. I talked to him and he would only play a card game with me. I like my villagers though so I am in no rush to get rid of them. I have Iggly, Plucky, Wade, Nan, Lopez, Cheri, Diana, Blanche , Lucy and Butch

i think you can "transfer" the villagers via local play...

I didn't realise this was the case for the first five. My first two villagers do indeed have a basic interior, with sleeping bag and all., The next three aren't that bad actually. I had a look in the guide to see what they would have looked like, and for some of them, I actually prefer the interior they ended up with. For instance Audie has a nice homely interior on my island.

I ended up getting the easter update the evening before easter, the only thing i could think of is it went on japans 9 hours ahead timezone. Seeing as nintendo are so keen that nobody gets it before anyone else hence them addding it all in updates i can't imagine they would let one region get it and potentially spoil it for the others. We shall see in less than an hours time if it's correct or not.

do you have to own a JPN Switch to set your region and have it update that way? Or is it based on your copy of the game, I got my game from the NA eShop so I was thinking I am stuck with that region for updates

I am hoping all updates goes out at the same time even if I'll be time travelling to see what is up with the Art early on

My switch is a uk one as is the cart copy of my game but my profile is japanese and it's region is set to japan but you can set your region easily in the system menu. I'll know in less than 10 mins as it's nearly 2am so thats 10 am japan time.
