I'm hoping they pull a Breath of the Wild and just release it for both PS4 and PS5 on PS5's launch date.

Then again, that might make the PS5 shortages even more painful.

hope it's still a ps4 game or i don't know how my retailer will handle the thing....(since you pay full price the online preorder)

If I have to bet, I would say next year.

Things aren't very favorable for those biggy games(mainly one as LoU). Could backfire badly, better sit and wait for things to calm down.

PS5 launch. The situation with Covid-19 may have softened up a bit too then, so that people doesn't get their knickers in a twist when the game presents a "too close to home"- scenario.

There is no good timeframe anymore.
July or August? People will rather go out finally.
September? Cyberpunk and other big games.
November? Ps5 release.

May 2020 would be the perfect release window.

November 2020.

My bet is TLOUP2 being a cross-gen PS4/PS5 launch title as I wouldn't be surprised if a few of their launch titles were pushed back internally to 2021. If PlayStation 5 gets delayed, then it stays as a PS4 only title and goes head to head with Xbox Series X and Halo Infinite.

Holiday 2020.

As sony is apparently not interested in selling too many ps5 due to high cost and potential loss per console, I believe a good PS4 bundle would be absolutely killer.

I can wait for it being released on PS5, with enhancements, But August can be a good month and then release GOT on September. We can close the PS4 Generation with those 2 AAAA.

Unless corona dies down and everything gets back to normal, Ghosts will be delayed too. Not just for "logistical" reasons as Sony claimed for LoU2, but because they want to make sure LoU2 comes out before Ghosts to maximize sales.

If Ghosts comes out before LoU2, many people won't even bother with buying Ghosts. They'll just wait for LoU2.

Place your bets!

You can post specific dates of you like.
I think this game will be a bargain bin release as in it will be soo late it will be just released incognito.

Personaly my hype for this game is gone since last year.

Its a sjw drama behind and in front of the screen.

October. Gives a lot of time to get physical copies made, it makes a good Halloween game and also out near the holiday shopping season.

Maybe November if it’s a cross gen PS5 launch title.

It’s gonna be a PS5 launch/incentive.
I don’t think Sony has anything in the bullpen to compete with Halo Infinite at launch, so delaying TLOU2 as a cross gen launch title makes the most sense to me.

But I could be full of shit too 🤷🏻‍♂️

I believe to about 70% certainty it will be a ps5 launch title or shortly after and damn naughty dog are going to be crunching right up until launch to optimise and improve the game for the new console.

I wouldnt be surprised if it gets delayed past the release window to allow for the upgrade the new console would allow. I mean if Sony want to sell consoles at launch there is nothing like having that game as a ps5 exclusive available from launch.

July to October.

It's not impossible that will be just PS4 only but being BC at launch for PS5 and having a specific flag to run at 4K 60FPS.

My guess is early June if Ghost of Tsushima is still on track for June 26th.

If The Last of Us releases after Ghost of Tsushima, then I believe there are more issue than they were letting on.

I don't believe they're going to save it for a PS5 launch title because millions of people are going to buy day one regardless.
