That’s BS.

If Sony announces PS5 is 12tf RDNA 2 like MS did with SeX, there’s no debate. That’s what it is.

the problem you have is MS official specs vs zero official Sony specs combined with heresay leaker specs which aren’t even the same anyway.

And because Sony seems to be dragging it out unlike last gen where they did a Feb reveal, you don’t like people having fun guesstimating specs especially when someone says PS5 will be weaker than SeX, but surely don’t mind it when someone says PS5 is more than SeX.

are you mad if I think PS5 is 9.2tf?

now are you happy if I say PS5 is 13-14tf (which seems to be new numbers swirling around the past week)?
Reality will never be BS lol

See how did you already panic?

Several things I’ve said have been right, just FYI. That doesn’t matter, as I’ll stick up for everybody else here and say that shit changes so much that you just don’t know one day to the next with this damn virus.

However...

Is that the pigeon you're talking about?

The 9.2tf GitHub is going to work in Sony's favor.

If (when) the announce the PS5 is anything over than number, it will be seen as a good thing after months of rumors. It's not going to matter if PS5 is 1+tf weaker. All thats's going matter is the GitHub was not true and the PS5 is more powerful than that.

Now PS5 coming in at 11 to 11.6tf? On top of beating the GitHub data? Forget it. The consoles are basically identical at that point.

Don't forget also that there are other areas besides tf that both consoles can lead in. We already know PS5 has a faster SSD.

Some of you need to calm the fuck down.

Whether odium is telling the truth or full of shit, shouldn’t have so much of an effect on you.

There’s very little official info out on PS5, so everyone is guessing at this point. You don’t like someone else’s guess, then just move on. The truth is on its own timeline.

As I said from the jump y’all shouldn’t be giving “insiders” much attention anyway. For various reasons explained over and over again, even the most reputable “insider” will be wrong the majority of the time. You already fucked up believing any of them.

Let Odium live. You don’t like his posts, just move on.
Odium needs to change his name to Klee'dium. People would be sucking him off by this time! :D

Technically we are all assuming Sony has a faster SSD because of insider leaks from people that havent been able to accurately predict anything at this point.

Sony's SSD could be faster or they could be near par, we won't know for sure until specs of both machines are 100% revealed.

Yeah. Insider talk combined with Sony's custom SSD patent makes me believe it will most likely be true.

But of course anything is still possible until both announce full specs. There's a reason MS still hasn't done so even after they confirmed 12tf.

Please allow me to interrupt your useless shitposts and attacks against each other and remind everyone that the title of this thread is
"Next-Gen PS5 & XSX |OT| Speculation/Analysis/Leaks Thread"

It's not about what you believe (or don't believe) or think, it's about speculating about Next-Gen consoles.

That said, allow me to actually return to a more technical discussion. Actually for some of you it's a lesson, because most of you don't know the fuck you're talking about.

A TF = 1 trillion floating point operations per second
A RDNA TF = AMD's way to say that RDNA cards don't have that much TF because algorithms that have been done in software on GCN architecture have been replaced with hardware implementations of those algorithms. It's just used for making new GPU's comparable to older generation GPU's.

Ray tracing is a technique to realistically simulate light, reflections, and shadows based on material properties by following rays emitted from a light source until they exit the screen at a certain pixel. Actually thanks to Pixar/Disney for optimization reasons it's being done the other way around. It's like using a sniping scope and focusing on one pixel of the screen, following the ray until it hits a surface to determine if this surface is relevant to be rendered or not.

Ray tracing has generally nothing to with NVidia or GPU's. It's been out there since decades. I did ray tracing on my Amiga 500. Friends of mine did ray tracing on their C64.

DXR is just an API calling hardware functions. Same goes for Vulkan. It helps developers call agreed on API's instead of having to implement directly hardware calls into their engines. In case of PlayStation since it's not Windows that needs to support multiple GPU manufacturers and generations it's actually less relevant. These slides from July 2019 clearly say "Release when 2 conformant implementations available. Means the Vulkan specification will be finalized as soon as e.g. next to NVidia also AMD has released an implementation.

Let me reiterate loud an clear, for ray tracing you don't need special hardware. If you don't believe me then explain how Crytek can do ray tracing without using a RTX 2080.
see: https://www.cryengine.com/news/view/ray-tracing-for-everyone-neon-noir-benchmark-tool-released

RDNA2 is a new iteration of RDNA adding ray tracing algorithms in hardware . Means the card will do more in hardware which has been done so far in software through drivers using floating point units. Everyone needs to be aware, that a custom hardware function can do stuff in one operation which required multiple operation calls through the driver.

So now let's assume for the sake of the argument, that Sony has implemented a function which can efficiently determine which parts of the scene are actually visible (I also mean stuff in reflections behind objects or around the corner) and another function that can track light rays from light sources in two operations where previous technology needed to do this in complicated ways through software algorithms in 200 operations.

As we have seen with PS4(Pro), Sony has highly customized AMD's APU. It's not just a 8 core Jaguar CPU glued together with a Radeon GPU. PS4 can e.g. circumvent the caches to directly write into the same address space as the CPU. PC's have separate memory for CPU and GPU and exchange data through PCIe.

As you can imagine Sony will be doing this again with hardware ray tracing which might massively boost ray tracing performance, while older games only see 9.2 TF because they don't use ray tracing functions.

This means your whole TF equation goes down the drain. And you are wasting everybody's time with your endless repetitions and discussions without knowing shit about it.

Another thing to consider. Microsoft has acquired GitHub. The leak on GitHub could be intentional, like those lost in the bar iPhones. It's just free marketing through you, nothing more.

What will be relevant in the end is the overall performance of the system, which will be measured in FPS and how many pixels the system can push to the screen depending on a certain scene complexity.

And last but not least, about attacking other members on this forum. Harassing or stalking people should not be tolerated here. Trolls need to be banned or people who want an educated discussion will leave for a better place. If you want to troll, go to 4chan or wherever the fuck trolls meet these days.

Speaking Polish fluently is something to behold. People spend years here and still no way they can pass for locals. It's terribly complicated and we have very peculiar phonemes. By the way, I'm an English teacher by trade. I started learning the language through games because you had to if you wanted to play them.

Seems like you didn't play enough 100% Japanese games back in the day :messenger_tears_of_joy: You could throw a game in Mayan language and gamers will still manage to beat it.

Nobody on here has, although I’m pretty sure it’s somebody from here that sent me the twitter family hate. I would likely be banned on here before I even got chance to report them, with the choice words I would have 🤣 Gafs pretty good at putting a stop to that sort of thing thing though.

But you only have to look a few posts above to see the same people post the same narrative - unless their console of choice is 100% better in every way, it’s a lie.

And I’m sorry. Whether you are green, or blue... that just isn’t happening this time. Best get used to it.

For me the "power" is almost hidden or secondary, but especially if it's so similar to the competition.

I'm much more interested in things that are in your face. The controller, the OS/menus, the games and more importantly the exclusive games.

Xb1x's power means nothing to me when I fight my hatred of the controller and OS menus every time I touch the machine, for the games I want to sample on gamepass. I still do 99% of things on my launch PS4. I'll sample something on gamepass, and then pick it up on a PS4 sale.

I'm in the camp tht wants both to be as close as possible so devs can focus on highest denominators and bring us the best games possible with other things differentiating. Sony already has PSVR on tht end which is a big differentiator imo and Xbox has game pass which is great value however...

The downside if it can even be labeled as one is tht if thy are close in specs it doesnt give me incentive to buy Xbox bcus their ganes don't appeal to me. XCloud doesn't matter to me because we've been had Psnow.

So scenario one 1

Xbox 12tf
Psv 12tf

I just buy Psv

Second scenario

Xbox 12tf
Psv 10 tf

I buy both.

I'm hoping OB and others are correct.
12 is splendid. 11.6 is awesome. I may Xbox down the line u

Weeellll.... I'll just add one thing to this. Mods can't babysit every post that's made on this forum. So if you have an issue or think someone is displaying behavior or language that violates the rules, make use of the 'report' function. That way the mods can be alerted and investigate.

Yeah, only reason people hanging on to his words is cause he said what they want to believe.

Which is fine, there’s just no need to bash others for believing different shit.

Klee was smart to say what he said then disappear before the crazies got to him.

I hope at the end of this people can take a step back and re-evaluate who, how and what they believe on the internet, and how they react to it.

Sony hasn't even said anything. MS has said stuff. Only reason people have any PS5 stuff at all is from that AMD.

But don't worry. We do have github. :)
I cant tell if some folks are joking or not. Sony has said about as much as Microsoft about each console specs and features.

That is suppose to be the Scarlett’s chip... false info imo because RX 5600 is no where 12TFs.

Not sure about that as it had the 13F9 ID associated with Ariel/Oberon which are known to be Sony related.

What I am more and more sure about is all these tests are old and irrelevant now....Or shit will hit the fan!

Well all info from AMD Flute was related to Scarlett chip.

PS5 was Gonzalo.

13F9 mean NAVI LITE.

Flute and Gonzalo are different SoC.
Found it. The iGPU ID matches the ariel GPUs.

18 represents 1.8ghz. the CPU base clock is 1.6ghz, same as the PS4.

13F9 is very similar to the gonzalo gpus.

regardless, it doesnt matter. the 5600xt is a 7 tflops GPU. its hilarious that people thought flute or gonzalo were going to be the final PS5 design because now that we know those were basically offering 7 tflops of RDNA performance, the entire github, komachi, apisak and firestrike DATA leak has been proven to be a giant load of shit.
