Everybody celebrating on one side based on those AMD leaks (essentially small test runs for more complete chips) are going to be disappointed. I can say with certainty while the tests are real, the PS5 chip has over 40 CUs.

Who has the stronger console shouldn't be considered as case closed, and the advantage isn't exactly on Xbox's side in that department. Sony has kept their cards close to their chest, very close, and as a result appear poised to surprise everybody again like they did in 2013. Only this time, there hasn't been a superdae style leak that accurately depicts most of Sony's plans. Sony did not skimp on their GPU. It is competitive with Xbox GPU. In fact, what has annoyed me recently has been all the vagueness, so I'll just flat out say it here. The PS5 GPU is stronger and larger than the Xbox chip. They're close, but Sony wins in that department, and anybody that doubts it come speak to me after the reveal.

Who the hell am I? Why should you believe me? I can't say because, well, NDAs are a bitch, and I'm not a fan of being hauled into court, but I'm not in agreement with how quiet Sony has been when they have the better box, so just consider me a friend tossing you guys a bone. I won't be participating too heavily in this thread because, quite frankly I don't want all the attention, but I see a lot of people settling on this ridiculous 9.2TFLOPs mess and I cringe when I see it. No, Sony isn't running their GPU as hot as some are thinking. Those 2GHz numbers were literally stress tests. No more, no less. And BC does not hinder Sony from increasing their CUs, cause they clearly have.

Everyone is assuming what form factor sony is going with based on their dev kit, don't. Microsoft aren't the only ones willing to draw more power in the next gen from their console. Sony are not designing a $399 console, they are shooting straight at the $499 price point and will likely have to take a loss because their SSD (SWEET JESUS THAT SSD!!!) is no game. They probably could have hit $399 easy without it, but I'm not mad at them.

And to add further context to Bluepoints tweet, "stay hungry" stop overreacting and getting nervous that the 9.2TFLOPS PS5 is real or a thing. It isn't, and they are fully aware of this. I will repeat because no other insider has made it quite clear yet, too much vagueness. The PS5 GPU is greater than 12.5 Teraflops, but less than 14TF. Is above 40 CUs (bye bye 5700 range navi - the thing that bugged us the most probably)

In all honesty when Phil Spencer put the Scarlett chip in his profile, and Xbox started flexing, Sony should have done the same. It would have been most interesting to see what measurements everybody came back with on both, and I will leave it at that on the chip size. On hardware ray tracing, both consoles are more or less similar, there is no super, special secret sauce. The story is just about the same there. I expect few games to use it because of the performance penalty, which is why you probably see Sony not mouthing off on that front. Xbox will find themselves in a precarious position to be pushing it so hard and then fail to deliver on it. Sony is choosing to take the humble route, but there is no advantage on either side for RT. It's a wash.

And finally, again, I know nobody here has any reason to believe a single word of what I just said, but trust when I tell you guys everything I say here you can take to the bank. We are in the early development phase of a title that will release first on Xbox even though all of our initial work, tests and benchmarks for performance, basically our entire invested time since the game was a concept, were done on ps5 until I guess a deal was made? We are not cross-platform. Next Gen Only. So now we have to do our best show pony routine and start building for xbox first with a later release on PS5 (might even drag us up on stage or something to show some ass). One of those fake exclusives as it were. We went from building for one powerful spec to now having to develop for an entirely different beast and its weaker kid brother. SSD optimizations (what the fuck do we need those for anymore?) Fan fucking tastic. I'm sure our art guys are loving it right now.

I’m done ranting, see you guys at reveal.

Well then :messenger_neutral: not sure how I missed this post. Not sure who this person is and not questioning them, everything pretty much is in order with what I have heard So in order. The 2GHz being stress tests makes sense and I was also told $499 at a loss. 12.5 so 12.6 I guess that's pretty vague. Heard this a while ago so clock up or down could be a different number but highly doubt it will be lower. The RT being a wash would honestly be new news to me cant comment one way or the other. Last I heard V was greater than Sex in that department. I'd rather it be even tbh. A deal being made? do you work for? Hmm can't message you. Weaker kid brother heard that exact statement from a developer. Hmm ....
Edited to add: I am looking under the bridge cautiously.

I say don't believe in people with so called inside information when they haven't been verified.

This is the time where people just make up fake rumors because they just want attention.
And even when people have been verified remember. What's the one way of getting increased traffic on this site.
Just saying.

Sounds cool but dunno if true.

Price doesnt sound right.

499$ should be 499-549€ as EU Prices are always been higher than direct 1$=1€.

Something that costs 499$ is usually more like 550-650$(499-599€) at Finland

And how about vita support.

I call it fake with some believable good guesses

Also "it's time to play" haha, sounds more like Chucky or Jigsaw than Sony.

The calculated vagueness, and the fact that he talks like a dev, must be a dev. Also has the blessing of OsirisBlack.
No blessing given,I remain skeptical could be someone trolling ...... would be a master class troll job. Regurgitating things that have been said previously with a few changes (which are now oddly enough being accepted by Xcloudtimdog and a few others that stand out.) Has me wary.

I joke around a lot on this forum but , real talk, I’m team blue if this is real and I’m going to be sticking with one console next gen.

Microsoft might as well cancel the Xsx at this point. No wonder they're dodging the GCN / RDNA teraflops question.

56 CUs at 1200mhz, 9TF. Big box for passive cooling. Seems high end but in the end it's the Xbone all over again.

PS5 13.5TF real RDNA 2 dream machine. 🐐🐐🐐

As soon as I read the PSP backward I stopped believing in it. How in the name of God is that supposed to work out?

The only reason this "leak" may have some truth in it is because of the "new sci-fi IP from Naughty Dog," pasage. This cant come out of nowhere.

some more intersting stuff about naughty dog and a scifi ip:

But perhaps that whole leak post is just fantasy because its mostly based on rumors that are out for more then a year by now. Also why would any legitimate leaker post on 4chan?

idk if this has been posted already but never the less here it is:

If this is true then this will be a major game changer. So developers in theory can work, debug, playtest their games on the same machine. I really hope this turns out to be true.

postscript :This would be a genuinely genius move from microsoft assuming they can make it secure enoguh for both versions of the OS to run.
Anyone here remember that ps3 linux fiasco?

Oh man if the leaks end up being true you're gonna have a really bad time once again. I would have hoped that after 7 years you'd learn something of value but I guess not. lmao

Most of actual games loading and pop in happens because the HDD is not supplying the RAM fast enough.

SSD will easily fix that issue.

No doubt an SSD will speed up the entire system as a whole. But the post I was replying to was asking if a faster SSD could somehow negate a hypothetical 3 teraflop difference.

100GB/s is pretty slow these days for RAM bandwidth, and even that would be 10 - 20X faster than any SSD. The next gen consoles RAM bandwidth with be somewhere around 500GB/s.

So let me get this straight...

Originally, it was like a 3tf difference, and Sony fans were all “doesn’t matter, Power is nothing, it won’t be seen, you got no games!”

Now it’s leaked, and i say that with a huge grain of salt as most of that which was just said isn’t accurate but anyway... Now it’s leaked that the PS is less than a single TF more powerful, and also the ray tracing stuff is about the same, and... now the power advantage means they will destroy the competition?

£400 was the real deal and more was DOA, now you’re told price is more (why would a dev even have this info? THINK) and it suddenly doesn’t matter?

Can you people hear yourself when you do this? This is last gen all over again. It’s a wheeze.

Honest man talk now. I’ve spoken with a few of my friends over the last few weeks who have legit hardware. As in developers, some of which may be working on very games spoken about here. None of them will tell me a thing I can give to you, not shit I could back up and look a super star. But not one of them, not one, and I have friends all over the shop that I’ve worked with in the past, had told me either console is bad, or that one is so much better than the other (like in the above SSD example) that it makes making games on the other difficult.

Not. One.

In fact, they are pretty much happy with a lot of areas, some areas are a bit shit as usual on both. But they are pc developers through and through so they would feel that way. But they all seem happy with it all. No fanboy BS, because only 12 year old
girls go onto a forum and say shit like this.

So come on guys... again, use your noggins.

I will add, that the Switch is stupidly low powered compared to either of these, and yet bang for buck I’ve had more fun with that than I have either PS4 or Xbox one in years. So you know... Chillax, sweetie.

I need to make a fake account and post some already speculated/suggested specs that a lot of people here are wishing for and gain a notoriety. People here are so thirsty they'll believe in anything coming from anyone as long as it agrees with them.

I love how you took his post out of context, you know damn well he didn't say graphical power was everything on a console being successful.

The Xbox was Microsoft's first games machine, they were not known In the gaming space like Sony was(by a mile a mile I might add). So you can not draw a comparison between the two based on the Xbox selling much much worse despite the PS2 being less powerful.

In that generation games was key and it showed.

Damn how did i miss this gem. So the pastebin from last june said navi 21 lite listing xsx at 395mm 52cu while ps5 was 420mm 56cu. It would line up with yaki saying ps5 apu is bigger.

I’m assuming OsirisBlack OsirisBlack knows who yaki is working for.

I don't see many people saying it will destroy the competition because of power.

Lets not pretend that Xbox fans flip-flopped with the power narrative over the years more than PlayStation fanboys.

Backwards compatibility is such a major feature, that games from all 5 PlayStation platforms (PS1, PS2, PSP, PS3 and PS4), will be compatible on PS5, making it an "ultimate PlayStation console", putting an emphasis on past and present gaming. More details about backwards compatiblty will be discussed at a later date, especially at E3

Please, let it be real.

I love conjecture as much as the next guy. But the only specs I'll believe will come from Cerney's mouth. Too much back and forth BS in this console war. I just want awesome games. Whether or not they're powered by 9 or 13 TF doesn't matter. Just give me games!

Mate both sides flip flop. It’s hilarious to see. I will say Sony are the worst by a large margin though. Anything that even so much as threatens their precious box and they go the extra mile to protect it.

But some of the flipping I’m seeing here ohhh boy... it’s embarrassing. It’s got to the point now that a leak could come out that says you don’t need a tv to play the damn thing and you just use haptic feedback, and certain posters here would shit on Xbox for having old ass tv tech.

It’s loony.
