Trump to announce US withdrawal from Paris Accord, will take four years to complete

So human civilization is going to destroy itself literally because a white man hated a black man.

Several white men. Fuck the GOP and their voters. Seriously nothing good has come because of them. This is literally a situation where there is no benefit for us to leave other than for Trump to go "look at me I'm a racist fucking idiot and so are the people who voted me in office." I can't stress it enough, if you voted for this prick you are a an irredeemable asshole.

Not a day goes by that I don't think "Fuck Donald Trump".

Today is a day that brings it with extra emphasis, FUCK Donald Trump, piece of fucking shit.

What a bizzaro world. China and Germany are now the world leaders. Even North Korea singed this shit. We are the enemy of the environment and the threat to modern day civilization as we know it today. I'm shocked and not surprised at the same time.

This is a huge blow to our economy and scientific leadership. It will take decades to catch up to fix this.

"Bad deal"? The whole world has to owe up for what we did from Industrial Revolution onward. No country in this has a "good deal", this is about saving mankind's future.

WHAT DUMB FUCKS.

How much is this really going to matter?

The trend of moving towards renewable energy isn't going to all of a sudden reverse its course. Consumers want to buy from environmentally responsible companies, and the companies themselves want to use renewable sources as they get cheaper and cheaper.

Like, Trump's being a dick. What else is new? And this makes the US look really stupid. But will it really change anything?

Isn't 2018 tilted in favor of republican incumbents? No doubt Democrats will make gains, but I don't know if they'll retake control.

Regardless, we need more than just mid-terms. People need to be ready to vote in 2020 too, and we need the strongest Demcrat candidate we can get (no not Bernie or Biden, they'll be too old).

The GOP fights for and wins in solid blue states all the time. Senator Scott Brown anyone? We need to stop being so defeatist about winning in red states

Most likely the base cost of pledging money for countries that are going to have to deal with climate damages. Basically compensation for our years of causing this issue.

At least, that's the only thing I can think of, but I have no idea.

However iirc, those base pledges were moved out of the 2015 negotiations and pushed to the next round.

Somebody needs to make a political cartoon of Trump handing over the superpower reins to China after today.

Yeah, Trump and the entire GOP deserve to go to hell for this. Fuck all of them.

If this takes for years to pull out, will there be a chance to reverse this if he gets elected out of office?

That's hilarious because every American is going to suffer for this. The world is going to suffer for this. Going to be funny when supposedly American cars being made in other countries put sanctions on us and in turn, we don't get cars. Ford is built in Canada and Chevy is built in Mexico (or the other way around) and I can't wait for them to refuse to make us cars anymore with sanctions. Then do you think we'll get anything Asian or German. Fuck no.

The fact that North Korea (I think) signed this as well speaks fucking volumes about this mother fucker.

It hurts US foreign relations and negotiating power in the future, mostly.

The private sector and many states will continue to move towards renewable energy anyway because that's where the future is. This is just politics.

Every House seat is up for grabs in 2018. Not sure about the Senate. But we can start by taking back the House.

even his best friend Duterte signed this lol I guess he wants to be baddest

This might single-handedly be the worst thing he'll do in his entire presidency.

What deal? There's no deal to be had here you bloated pile of trash, this is about continuing the human race. You are ACTIVELY abdicating America's position as world leader and denying millions of jobs to Americans over the next two decades.

I sincerely hope the rest of the world makes us pay for this dearly. I wish China all the luck in the world in shoving this in his frumpy leathered face.

It absolutely matters.

The longer we wait to make meaningful cuts in our emissions, the faster we need to do such things. Renewable energy being cheap is just a step, you need proper government action to really go forward.

Companies aren't going voluntarily to close down new coal plants, newly converted natural gas plants when it's not even a quarter or halfway through their life cycle.

New energy is already rapidly changing to renewables, but we have decades of infrastructure that needs to be replaced.

What fucking workers? The coal miners who are never getting their jobs back? This is fucking bullshit and anyone who supports this motion is human garbage and hopefully suffers bigly because of this shithead in chief.

Even fucking Tillerson wanted him to stay in it!

How I wish we could separate the US from the rest of the world so their stupidity doesn't affect the planet.
Please bare in mind that the majority of people are against Trump and are at the mercy of this fucked up administration because enough stupid, ignorant, desperate people voted for this man.

Well it destroys the US's standing in the world, that's for damn sure. Also, considering the US is one of the biggest polluters in the world and Scott "FUCK THIS WORLD MONEY CASH BLOOD" Pruitt is doing everything to destroy it as head of the EPA, it just adds more fuel to the fire.

America: The Moronic Inferno

Coming to you in the near future not only figuratively, but literally as well(*)

(*) the "Inferno" part will apply to the rest of the world as well.

*sigh* :-(

Right. So all the panic here seems pretty overblown.

This is Trump withdrawing from an agreement that we as a country will probably follow anyway without being told to, just to look like he's a friend to the coal workers.

In the end the rest of the world will move forward without the US. They will invest in cleaner energy and modernize their industries while adding new jobs and opportunities. The US will be the pouty kid who sits on the sidelines refusing to play. The people who suffer will be Americans. The rest of world will succeed despite trump.
