Far Cry 5 keyart revealed

Assuming this cover follows the same trend as the Farcry 3 and 4 covers, he's not.
They're daring enough to tackle this plot and setting (you know it's going to piss people off), and put that kind of imagery on their first major reveal (you know that's also going to piss people off). I wouldn't rule it out

Plus Watch Dogs 2 had a black protagonist. And I believe the next Assassin's Creed does as well. Why not Far Cry?

Wait, I don't think those other people in the posters are the protagonists. Especially not in the FC4 poster.

That is definitely not Ajay Ghale in that poster. That also doesn't even look like Jason Brody...not douchey enough.

It's definitely not Jason, he has longer hair.

Somebody over at Ubisoft is really earning their paycheque on the marketing side. Bravo. I hope they can stick with it. I love it so far.

You people are something else. Do you even play games for the fun of it or just to mock people who don't line up with your own far left views?

knowing america has a systemic racism problem and many white americans have a problem with race fragility and conversations about race = far left views

lol

They're emulating the last supper, I think it's pretty clear that Christianity will be prevalent.

Just saw this

If this Far Cry actually feels like a current-gen leap over 3, 4, and Primal, then fixed-wing aircraft aren't that much of a surprise. I really hope Ubisoft seriously upgrades the sense of scale. We need a Far Cry game that's the size of Wildlands or Arma.

As for the story, what if it's taking a bit after Witcher 3's monster hunts and doing a detective protagonist who goes around solving mysteries? I could totally see Ubisoft aping the detective vision which, considering Ubisoft, would be a satisfactory step up in my opinion. It would fit if it's doing a Twin Peaks/True Detective angle. Oh, and I actually kinda hope it doesn't go straight for the easy target of "scary small-town America." There aren't enough games set in rural America and a lot of media that is set there focuses a whole lot making it seem "alien" to city dwellers. I mean, it's clear the Christian nutjob angle is in, I just hope the game doesn't depict EVERYONE in Hope County as a backwards wack-job.

I really didn't think they could announce a setting for Far Cry to get me back in.
But damn.

It's not even like Far Cry 4 (which was the last one I played) was bad.

What kind of argument is that? I guess every kind if generalisation is okay because only those guilty of it would get mad? Isn't it more logical that he'd get mad if it doesn't apply to him?

No, not really. Because it's true. And that's really not even a controversial thing to say. A plurality of white people like to pretend racism is "solved". If you don't believe that to be true, there's a much larger conversation to be had that is not in the scope of this thread.

At least the governor of Montana has a few months to write his official complaint letter. Maybe he can use the Bolivian template. ;)

It's not that. It's the fact that people on this website think every person who is a white Christian who lives in rural America is somehow this evil racist who needs to be mocked and ridiculed. That is far left.
No one in this thread has said that.

All you're doing is proving this right
White people are extremely fragile and they don't like being reminded that racism is alive and well

The leaks on Reddit said this is a religious/doomsday cult that took over a town in Montana and you play a sheriff that has to take them down. So think less Richard Spencer, more Alex Jones.

Is this guy in the back just staring at his finger?

The entire image is a reference to The Last Supper. One of the apostles in the original painting is doing the same pose

I'll say this, Ubisoft have some pretty huge balls for going in this direction. If the game delivers this could be very very unique in the gaming space
