WaPo: Trump revealed highly classified information to Russian foreign minister

I want to get into an outrage, but I feel like this will also come to nothing due to these GOP bastards. Trump's latest incompetence does not hurt them directly, so the GOP will do nothing.

He ain't wrong, doh.

Yeah it sucks. You can't expect anyone in the GOP to be bombarded with this news and ask for Trump to burn at the stake. It's not gonna happen.

All of these stories are just chipping away at Trump's GOP armor... Give it time.

You simply can't make this shit up. This guy is a fucking traitor. Case closed. He fires the FBI Director investigating Russia the day prior, and then he keeps the American press out of this meeting in a very unusual manner, and then he gives Russia highly classified information. This isn't all a coincidence. This guy is out to weaken this country.

Man, hearing these headlines one after another...

Trump shared confidential information with Russia.
Trump fires the FBI Director and admits it has to do with Russia.
Trump refuses to confirm or deny if there are tapes.
Even a Republican has come out against the Trump administration's directive to go after the harshest penalties for drug crimes.

Nah. This is entering the final stages, he's going totally into the red and even his idiotic party before country... party can't save him from this without irreconcilable damage to the party itself. He's already been a heavy poison pill for them, this is just making it all the more toxic.

McConnell is a conniving and evil little imp-shit but sooner or later even his venom won't be worth it.

He has a diet Coke button:

He didn't invent that. Some previous president had a softdrink button. Trump was also eager to show off that button, but several years ago when he was interviewed in his offices, the reporters made no mention of Trump using a button (and if he had one he would have bragged about it).

If it's declassified, why is it not public?

This is a good point. Like, if he "declassified it on the spot", which is apparently legal for the president, then WaPo and Buzzfeed and anyone else should be able to report what the info is, because it's no longer classified. If not, then it wasn't declassified and thus IS illegal that he disclosed it.

You can't bleed freedom great again without breaking a few bad hombre omelets?
Nothing will come of this :(

Trump's approval ratings are garbage and are only getting worse. Yes, the GOP sucks, but they'll act if Trump is threatening their ability to get reelected.

Corker has more balls than McCain:

BOB CORKER: "The White House has got to do something soon to bring itself under control and in order. It's got to happen."

"...but us party-over-country Republicans in Congress surely aren't going to do anything about it regardless..."

Wapo could absolutely post it if they wanted. But they aren't out of concern for national security.

Hey McCain, you're 80 fucking years old and you'd still rather flush this country down the drain so you can maybe stay in power longer, than do the right thing.

What a piece of shit

He's already said this is his last term, so he's not even doing this to stay in power. He's doing purely to put party over country

Fucking hell. It's technically legal, but if you have a president that's leaking all your most classified info to fucking Russia you need to get them the fuck out.

At some point there will be a terrorist attack in the US other services knew of but didn't share it thanks to Trump

Save his own ass for what? Lol, this is going to be his last term. He as literally nothing left to lose. He's just a bitch for the party.
I feel like he hasn't decided not to run again. If he had, he would push back more on Trump. He's a relatively petty man who does care about maintaining some semblance of the false maverick perception. If he were done he might actually do some stuff to shore up a legacy.

He revealed more info about the laptop terrorism threat to Russia than is available publically. Info that has not been shared with allies. Info that can reveal sources and methods. Info that the intel source did not give us permission to share. It's in the wapo article. They say it will make it harder for us to prevent attacks in the future.

Been mentioned a few times I think, but setting aside for a moment the issue of whether the POTUS can decide to declassify something anytime they want and share it, this sets a precedent for behavior. Future intelligence sources are going to think long and hard about working with us or sharing information if they think that Trump might just blather it out at a meeting. This further erodes our relationships abroad because our President is a child who cannot keep his mouth shut.

Man it just keeps coming doesn't it? Anyway this look pretty bad but i'm sure spicer has a reasonable explanation for divulging highly classified secrets to a foreign agent.

Pretty sure he already said he doesn't plan to run again, but he could go against that when his term comes up.

The reason his supporters keep supporting him no matter what is because a lot of his supporters (not all, but a lot) are the types that can't imagine that what they think is wrong and that their judgement might no be the best.

Saying he's made mistakes or that he should be impeached is them admitting they were wrong to vote for him, and they hate that more than they fear the consequences of his actions.

They're the same kind of people who would call for a trade of their losing quarterback or the firing of a lousy coach. Ya know, important jobs that affect their lives.
