The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild |OT2| It's 98 All Over Again

Yeah, I was hoping to use an Ancient arrow and make it easy-peasy but the arrow disintegrated him which stopped the bow from dropping.

Any other ways as I don't think my current Link is up for a head-to-head fight with a Lynel?

Admittedly until recently I didn't even know Lynels dropped nice loot, but the feeling of simply vaporizing one of those nasty mofos with a single arrow is probably the best prize of all.

I completed my fourth dungeon (the Rito one)! That was easily the worst dungeon in the game. Now I just need to complete the rest of the shrines and find enough Korok seeds to max my inventory before going to fight Ganon.

Agreed, I never got the "5 shrines glued together" conplain until I finished that one. Althought the aesthetics is really fine.

For me from worst to best it's:
Rito << Goron < Zora ~< Gerudo

Thanks for the input everyone, and yea I kind of figured the performance was the same. Also to Mega yea I couldn't agree more the Gamepads screen is terrible, I've hated it since launch day, but I'm also sharing the TV and kinda watching Hannibal with my SO at the same time so It gets the job done for now. Very jealous of the Switch users, I can't imagine playing a game like this completely portable on a nice looking screen.

Yeah, handheld mode + great screen at last(!) is a godsend for my SO to watch her shows and not feel bored while I binge on Zelda. Sometimes I forget I'm playing on a Nintendo handheld when I'm deep into some quest and I'm taking gliding around and taking screencaps of beautiful scenery... And all this from the same company that pissed me off with its dreadful screens on Wii U gamepad and 3DS/N3DS. I was initially worred about the 720p res but it's right at the point where you won't notice unless you're looking closely and pixel peeping.

Hope you're able to get one soon. It's a game changer in my opinion!

A certain armor set requires his body parts as well for upgrades. Which is fitting for that armor set. It's what drove me to try and kill one for the first time and I was so far into the game it was a damn
silver-maned
one in the
Colosseum
.

The secret is kill them for their meat.

lmao, i'm ruthless with the widllife too, I think I murdered the only bear in Hyrule. One of my new favorites its bomb fishing. There's this pond in Faron that if you lift a metal door fish come pouring out, like 10s of them... one well placed bomb (:

Ok, I really don't want this game to end . I've never been this engrossed in an open world....ever. 60+ hours and still so much to do.

I beat Ganon yesterday and immediately continued playing.

I can't stop. I don't want to either.

I still have like 36 shrines to go and a lot of sidequests.

I wanna get a lot of korok seeds too, and upgrade all the armors... and just free roam and kill stuff and explore every nook and cranny of this marvelous world.

Can you refight the final boss after you beat the game?

To your heart's content. You get placed in a save RIGHT before fighting the final boss, and you get a star in your save file too.

Does anyone remember at E3 they showed a brief video clip "Off the great plateau", and in that clip they showed Link gliding around with a different hairstyle? Anyone know where to get that head gear? Can I get a hint? It's not the stealth head gear, the hairstyle looks different from that...

It's a strange feeling only knowing where 3 incomplete shrines are (event island, the last maze and one major test of strength I never beat), when I know I've only actually beaten half the shrines (I have 64 shrines beaten).

I should still be tripping over them, and yet I'm not. My "get to the highest point in the area and scope out shrines" strategy has probably reached its limit. Guess I'll need to do some actual leg work.

How vague of a hint do you want?

Mild spoiler:
It's gear made for the desert

Medium spoiler:
It's found in Gerudo Town

Detailed instructions:
It's in the secret shop in Gerudo Town. Ease drop in on the bar ladies conversations until they give you the password. It's behind the clothing store on the immediate left when entering the town.

This is becoming my problem as well.

I've done 60 shrines and have completed/explored about half the map, so I'm numerically on track, but I have a hard time believing I've completed everything in the eastern hemispheres of the map. I look at the map and see all the shrines, towers, and Korok Seeds I've found and notice big blank spots where I've found nothing. I go explore there in hopes of finding a shrine I overlooked or another puzzle, but generally I don't find anything.

Yup just had an intense battle with one

Another tip. Shoot him in the face with an arrow. Nice stun. Doesn't have to be any magic arrows or anything
Oh, I don't even bother with arrows anymore for them. I just go in and beat them down point blank. They telegraph a LOOOOOT, so I spend at least half the battle in slow motion XD

Though, to start off the battle I usually paraglide over with the sheikah armor on, and then mount them from behind.

There are a lot of awesome shrine quests, that reveal hidden shrines, and also, a lot of super cleverly hidden shrines, without a quest tied to them.

My favourite part of this game is hunting for shrines.

40 hours into the game and I still haven't reached
Kakariko village
at this pace once I finished the game the final count will be 1000 hours! I just really love to explore and get lost on the world. Can't remember when was the last time I got so hooked into a game before, I think it was RE4 more than 10 years ago.

Awesome, thanks!

Yeah there are some that I have no idea how I'd find without the sensor tbh

Man,
Korok Forest
deserves much better docked performance for how lovely an area it is. The transition arriving in it after
the Lost Woods
is beautifully handled

Every time I've provoked a Lynel I'm dead within seconds. I honestly haven't gone it enough to get a feel for how to counter them, I'm always too scared, haha. They're one of the most intimidating enemies I've ever encountered in a game, far worse to me than anything from Bloodborne or Souls.

Seriously, it's so gorgeous.

I have
4 shrines to go until I've done them all. I won't be getting all 30 Hearts/3 Stamina Wheels by doing everything unless there's some Quests I'm missing out on.

[shrines / hearts / stamina talk]
Does the game cap you off at 30 hearts / 3 wheels, or can you opt for more of one or the other?

Ah shit, just got spoiled then :/. I really need to stop reading this thread before playing the game.
Yeah dude, stay out. I'm 50+ hours into the game and I still find things in here that I wish I didn't read, haha.

When does the amiibo usage reset? I wasn't able to use them at all yesterday, and had used them around 3PM on saturday the last time. Is it something stupid like japanese midnight?

Speaking of hearts / stamina, as someone who focused exclusively on stamina early on I found it pretty annoying that getting the
Master Sword is tied to how many hearts you have and not a mix of hearts / stamina. Hell, it should be based on how many Spirit Orbs you've collected, really.

I hope you guys have tried attaching octo balloons to literally everything like I have. It's SO much fun.

Tree trunks, giant slabs, boulders... anything.

Can you get the Twilight Bow from the BotW Zelda amiibo? I read they're the same chip as Smash Zelda.

Also my playtime finally displayed: over 70 hours. If I take out an approximate 5 hours of idle time, that's likely almost 70 hours. I'm closing in on half the shrines completed and I've done two dungeons, but I only have 60 ish Korok seeds... I'm likely less than halfway through at this point.

Yeah there are some that I have no idea how I'd find without the sensor tbh

This is why I think people should play without the sensor if they want a real challenge. It dumbs down the game's exploration aspect by having a loud buzzer point out secrets. I have found some incredibly well hidden shrines by taking the initiative and exploring way off the beaten path and I would've been disappointed if the game had told me they were there. Far more rewarding discovering things all on your own.

Even with the sensor, I sometimes have to walk around a lot before I find the shrine.

There's maybe 4 or 5 shrines where the sensor is actually going to hurt you. Things are buried hard under mountains and when the sensor is going off and how it is going off couldn't be further from where the actual entrance is.
