Nintendo Switch eShops from other regions can easily be accessed

It's not too bad to click through and have a quick mess around with. Looks good but the framerate is a bit off sadly.

Yeah unfortunately the frame rate in the demo is kind of bad. It is better docked but there are still framerate drops.

Still playable though. I would buy it if it comes out for NA.

That's an understatement for me, sadly.

I kinda wanted to pick this game up eventually, and if it ran at least as well as Hyrule Warriors Legends (on the New 3DS with 3D off) then I'd have definitely been on board with it, but right from the start the framerate for Dragon Quest was just awful and consistently awful not just every once in a while.

There's dragon quest Heroes as well. Big language barrier there though.

I didn't find it to be that much of a barrier. I just advanced through the text and walked around slashing at everything till I completed the demo. I'm sure I was missing some details, but it wasn't as if I had any trouble playing it.

hmm... did Nintendo change something, because I'm unable to change the region of my account as there are still 5 cents left on it. It shows me the following message:

I had $1 in my account and was still able to change regions (lost it when I switched back though)

Well, Amazon.co.jp denied my disgaea 5 code, approved my 5000 yen eshop code, and hasnt approved my 3000 yen eshop code yet???

I dunno, this is so weird. I've ordered from amazon.co.jp plenty of times before, but never digital items.

Strange, Amazon JP let me buy a digital 1000 point card using my US address. I'm a bit concerned...why didn't I get the purchasing error for requiring a JP address? I don't want Amazon JP getting mad at me.

Dingle, why is it letting you buy them! It gave me my 5000 card after a while, but not my 3000 card! and denied me a disgaea code!

Edit: got my disgaea code!

Puyo Puyo Tetris demo is fantastic.

Definitely worth setting up a JPN account just to play that over and over again.

I loved the Puyo Puyo Tetris demo, played it with my wife.

Will be getting it day 1 English for sure, I'm usually 100% physical (it's coming out in retail right?) but it could be the kind of game I want with me always lol. Hmmm, maybe digital.

Disgaea 5 (physical) on Amazon JP is cheaper than the digital version on on the eShop .. should digital titles be cheaper?

Out of curiosity: back when we could switch between accounts on 3DS, this warning ended up being something that meant "you will have a different wallet per region".

Is this the case here too? I don't see why credits would be lost from the previous account.

Should they be? I think so, but don't expect them to be especially with Japanese stores.

Massive MSRP is the norm and you're lucky if you find a 30% discount of a year or more old game in a flash sale.

The framerate in the Dragon Quest Heroes demo actually improves quite a bit in docked mode. Not solid still, but better than handheld mode.

Yeah I've noticed this too when I played it without the dock since I first tried it out in docked mode. I guess there is a performance boost to the game.

Yeah like what's the incentive to even buy the game?

I bought it anyway, and I'm getting a physical English copy too, just because I collect Tetris games. The incentive is the online play and more local modes like marathon, 40 lines, ultra, but yeah, the demo is very generous in what it gives you.

Used this to download PuyoPuyo like everyone else. It's gotta be one of the most generous demos I've ever played.

I'm slowly breaking down... how much does it end up costing, in US Dollars, to get the appropriate amount of eshop codes from amazon to procure Disgaea 5?

I'm thirsty for a game I play primarily handheld

I heard Disgaea 5 was also in English. Is Puyo Puyo Tetris the same? If it is, I'm totally getting it tonight.

Disgaea is in English. I bought in the Jpn EShop and playing with english voices and english text.

Puyo Puyo is Japanese only. Until April, then it releases in English.

Decided to make a Japanese account and could download JP demos in less than 5 mins, was really surprised how easy it is to do it.

Also going to chime in at how easy it was to create another account. Damn at those Japanese prices though.

Wait, so I can buy disgaea 5 and play it in English now? I can use a Canadian credit card?

Any special steps I should know about?

It seems Japanese eshop doesn't accept foreign credit card. Just buy the eshop card at Amazon jp. Don't forget to get any random Japanese address

Thanks, which eshop card should I purchase? I assume it's only a question of redeeming the card on the Japanese eshop and purchasing the game?

Just type eshop and it will show the digital card. Just buy what you want. 5000 is the largest I think.
And yes

9000 is the largest. If they have codes for the specific game you want, you might want to just buy that though, as it prevents you from having excess money sitting around in your account that we're still unsure whether we'll ever be able to use our credit cards directly on the eShop to purchase the required amount to exactly settle out our accounts. Also, the digital game codes can potentially go on sale cheaper than the eShop price, like they have MK8 Deluxe on pre-order for less than the MSRP already.

So why are people buying points? Uncertainty towards being able to redeem the game code? Or they're just unaware they could do that.

Unless they do it only when game codes are not available.

I didn't realize we could buy a digital code for Disgaea in jpg Amazon so I bought points instead.

Now that I know, I will look for a digital code first before buying eshop yen.
