God damn, I expected it to be pretty good, but a critical reception this positive always makes me sit up and pay attention.

I want to warn people: when you think of what a movie "masterpiece" would typically look like, this movie will not look like that. It will probably not win Best Picture of the Year anywhere.

However, walking out of the theater thinking about what it dared to do and how successfully executed it was, that's why this is getting so many positive reviews.

Hope this sets expectations better.

Definitely surprises me, when I first saw the trailer at the cinema I thought it looked ridiculous.

Will watch it for sure now and looking forward to it, not out for a couple of weeks in the UK though.

WAAAY too much shown in the trailer, feel like I just watched the movie. Good to see it's reviewed well but I think I've spoilt it a bit to much for myself to be surprised by.

Movie is great, tension is top notch, and it doesn't rely on gore to do the good stuff.

Really impressed by it, didn't see this coming from Peele but damn, really loved the movie.

Honestly if you feel you've seen everything based off the trailers there are still a few surprises left! IDC this is a fantastic thriller

Not understanding the trailer complaints. I mean, yeah, there was a lot of actual footage in terms of time, but I really don't feel like I know exactly what's going on. Some theories, sure, but it could go a lot of ways.

Hopefully I can go see it tomorrow after work. I've been interested in seeing the movie since I saw the first trailer.

Yeah I agree. Imagine going into this knowing absolutely nothing about it. Can't help but feel that the movie will lose some of its impact now that I've watched that trailer.

Amazing film. The twist was a bit too telegraphed early on, but other than that I'd say it's a damn near perfect thriller. Also the small bits of comedy in it were on point as expected. Go see this movie people, it deserves all the support it can get.

Is that the only reason to see (or not see) a movie?

Even you did know exactly what happened, every detail, here's what a trailer doesn't have: cinematography, pacing, context, character development, and so on.

You can read a movie's script and still not have "seen" the movie, because the text of the story and how the story unfolds visually, musically, pacing-wise, through performances and editing, etc. are completely different things

Yeah, Satoshi Kons millennium actress is a simple story, but i love it for Kons use of transistions and cinematography in general

I love this because that's exactly how I felt but then the movie swerves you.

Got to know: Does it have a true ending that wraps things up, or does it do the stupid typical horror surprise ending where the last scene suggest nothings change and evil prevails.

So my girlfriend doesn't like any scary movies at all, and is very easily scared. Does anybody think she would be okay for this?

The former...true ending. I don't feel like I left the theater with any unanswered questions at all actually.

It's more of a thriller/suspense movie than a horror movie so yes. There are no jump scares, just a general uneasiness for most of the movie.

It's pretty wrapped up. Saw it last night. If you are a fan of edge of your seat thrillers you need to see this. Funny, tense, scary, sad, and laser focused racial commentary. It really is a complete package of a movie.

There's like two jump scares but more than anything it's just really creepy the whole time. I think she should be fine if she can handle thrillers.

Random question but how's Allison Williams in this?

She eats Froot Loops one at a time and separately sips milk through a straw with each nibble. She will be forever tainted to me now because of this.

Yikes! This review looks like it's filled with spoilers. Don't read this if you don't want to be spoiled. It spoils the ending like right away, unless that's not really it. :/

Unfortunately yes but there's way more to the movie than that.
