Red's Kingdom dropped in price... time to snap it if you already dont own this masterpiece

Actually I think Ironhide's Futuristic RTS is called Iron MARINES, not Iron Brigade (the name of the Double Fine Mech Tower Defense game).

I'm definitely looking forward to it too, I've been waitng for Iron Marines to come out all of last year, and was really disappointed when it kept getting delayed.

Great to hear that a new Kingdom Rush is coming out too. That series is probably my most played across both Android and iOS. Can't get enough of them.

Thanks, corrected that one... ups. Cant wait either for both of them. Well, anything by Ironhide is buy for me.

Red's Kingdom is really damn polished.

I really didn't expect the game to be so open world.
I assumed it was a series of puzzle rooms...wow I was wrong.
Feels like Zelda.
Awesome.

Thought Emoji Movie was good. Take that as you will.
Super Gridland isnt for me... I prefer more "relaxed" match-3 like Dungeon Raid, Darkin,....

Now, for real, to Red's Kingdom...

You're playing it wrong then. It's turn based. The only thing really real time is fights but even then they aren't frantic all... You should really think about moves.

Fun game but I was hoping they added more considering how long ago this was made. It's pretty easy to beat even on hard.

I will give it another chance then

That's what I would call divinity original sin

Is there a story in demons rise? or is it just a series of battles?

You're right. Though Divinity was real time-with-pause. But Demon's Rise is all about the battles. No exploration, dialogue, etc. like Divinity

Yea that's what I was wondering.

There's so many games I wish where on iPad, aren't, and then I feel the need to try and find something similar

Finally hit a wall in the Sailor Moon game where you either have to have the luck of 1000 leprechauns or buy items. Bummer. I'll keep it installed for the stickers, though.

I don't know if it's just an error and it's really unfortunate the price of Red's Kingdom changed basically everyday since launch, I feel, error or not, it just devalued the game somehow....but don't let this make you ignore the game (it would be a great purchase at 10 dollars imho).

Imho it's fantastic and as already said, the first true unexpected gem of the year (to me anyway).

It starts cute and simple but later on it really opens up, new powers and items are given at a nice pace and levels really get tricky while never being frustrating.
I had to explore back several times already, Metroidvania style (the teleported really help here, boring backtrack is non existent so far).
And there is so much to do....I just got all the gems and the game keeps getting better and better.

Sales or not, don't sit on this one if the gameplay remotely interests you.

Only fault I see it's that it lacks iCloud sync...I'm playing on iPhone because I want to play it whenever I can but it looks even better on iPad.
GLORIOUS, I would say.

EDIT: The wing suit is freaking epic.

I feel like they were surprised by the editor's choice in certain countries and wanted to maximize on it by having a really low price. It's such a shame for early adopters though even if I'm glad that I paid that price for it. Went back to other Cobra mobile games and I forgot how the iBomber Defence is still such a good TD series. They really are underrated.

Yeah, I'm very impressed with Red's Kingdom. It's not the first game to do an open world puzzler, or to use that particular mechanic, but it's combines in a very polished smartly-crafted way with a lot of charm and variety

Oh don't get me wrong, I *LOVE* the game and I'm not even pissed by the price drop (I paid the full price which is still a steal right after having read your tweet about it actually) but I know that a LOT of people will be pissed anyway (robbed by a whopping dollar or two, no less) and they will invest hours online to rage and be vocal about this (their time clearly has no value), and the game could suffer imho (not saying they are wrong, but it's a fact).

If this mean new adventures or levels or whatever (I just read the dev post in Toucharcade on the matter) I'm super ok.
It's a fact that besides very specific dev or genres, you are guaranteed you will get, someday, ANY game for 1 dollar or free, it's just a matter of time.
It's unfortunate imho, but that's the way it is...it's only a matter of how long one wants to wait.

That said two price drops in 2 days are a bit...how can I say...unprofessional.
I get they were cought off guard, but they should have handled this a bit better, for their own good considering their crowd target.

Anyway, that said...sale or not, everyone interested in the game should buy it asap, it's really great and a perfect fit for touch.
Besides the price drops, they updated the game twice in 2 days, which shows a nice committement too.

I think I'm gonna skip it honestly. I might not be in the mood for such a puzzler, and I was craving something more along an adventure where you get to move freely with a virtual stick, but this is something entirely else. I love the visuals and it's rather charming though.

IDK, but I would just buy it since its 2€ and just put it in your library for a future time. Like KC says, this is a game I want to see more on iOS

Might as well buy it for $2 now, and just play it later. The game is EXCELLENT, absolutely, utterly excellent. You might not be in the mood for it right now, but the time will come, and we're arguing over $2. That's a soda, which is gone in a matter of minutes.

I really don't have enough superlatives to throw at Red's Kingdom. It is just a very, very well made game. It is the perfect game for me right now. Just super chill, go st your own pace adventure with a butt ton of charm. The ONLY fault I have with it is that you must always traverse each room the same way. Some of the rooms are fairly complicated, and it can be a liiiiittle tiresome to backtrack, but it keeps you sharp, which I like, and the rooms are easy enough to get through once you've completed the room.

Dang. Kind if disappointed with demons rise. It's clunky as hell and not very polished.

The jankyness really sucks the fun out of it for me.

Hello fellow iOSGAFfers!

I've recently bought an iPhone 7 and I'm loving it, truly a premium product. I've always had good-to-great Android phones, so I did most of my mobile gaming there... What are some of the truly unmissable iOS exclusive that I should play? Any genre is OK. I've already bought Red's Kingdom thanks to the posters above me :p

While I'm here, could you recommend me some good F2P titles? Something that is not competitive and isn't too aggressive with microtransactions. I've already played some gacha games (FFRK, KHUX, MobiusFF, Dokkan) but they couldn't hold my attention for too long for various reasons. Thanks!

1 or 2? And yeah, the praise is for the depth of the strategy and design

Went with 2.

I went through the tutorial, and I can see that the depth of mchanics is there. I'll probably continue to let it try and hook me. But initial impressions left me disappointed.

There's so many good games coming out all the time that it's harder and harder for me to forgive the little things. Or at least not be bothered by them.

@neku
Some Good f2p games are: Drop7, plants vs zombies 2, magic duels (lots of single player content), and pathfinder adventures.

Be sure to check the game when you are in the mood.

Do know that exploration is big in the game, especially after 40% or so (around 3-4 hours for me, according to the ingame map) where I was even a bit lost, with multiple paths towards your goal and while initially all rooms are one after another, later you have multiple exits in each room, that lead to multiple rooms and again multiple exits...levels are pretty big.

I know I already said this multiple times, but the more I play, the (even) better it gets, with new enemies, powers, puzzles and much more story bits too.

I can't imagine the nightmare that must have been crafting and playtesting all the rooms, some of them are truly brilliant.
Several times I was stuck thinking there was a bug or something...only to discover the (now evident) solution 1 minute later.

GLORIOUS.

I think some of these might be on Android too, but as for iOS must-plays, I'd say:
- Sorcery series
- 80 Days
- Device 6
- Hero Emblems
- Downwell
- 868 Hack & Imbroglio
- A Dark Room & The Ensign
- Dark Echo
- Monument Valley
- 99 Bricks
- Duet
- Inferno 2
- Circa Infinity
- Icebreaker (by Nitrome)

LOL.

3.5 hours to get to 48% in Red's Kingdom.
Next 2 hours to get to 49%.

The game really steps up, especially the exploration part...the world is HUGE.
Enemies gets very hard too.
Different games, but in the exploration departement I got the same vibes of Aquaria....completely lost looking for clues.

PRO TIP: In the game map, you can see the remaining nuts.....use them if you are stuck, try to reach them...usually you'll find secrets, useful items or a new path.
I have many items I've no clue what they are for yet.

What a wonderful game.

Starting to regret now playing till 3 AM tough.

Just completed Red's Kingdom, 7-8 hours (perfect length imho).
Still some acorns to get and 1 chest to open.

Great game.

I thought I didnt finish EDGE Extended, so I completed it yesterday... turns out twice now... didnt trigger any achievement, went to check them, already had them unlocked some years ago LOL. Forgot how good the game was... brilliance in its highest form.

Also, finally reached SMAC experiment 6 "XB X Boson" after so many many tries at "YB Y Boson"... awesome stuff, best behind the back endless runner ever...

I can't complete any games on my iPad, and that is why I've decided not to buy anything new. I just put them in folders and have a few (maybe 4 apps) on the front page, that I can't even seem to get through. I got 200+ games on the device itself.

I had an opportunity to play through Sara is Missing on my iPhone a few times while traveling. I say play through because the entire experience is very short. In fact, I started over a few times because I thought maybe my decisions prematurely ended the story.

It seems more like a prologue or demo of things to come from the developer than a fully developed iOS game. For what it does, it does well. I was drawn into the game quickly with the premise that I found some random person's discarded cell phone, and that the AI for the phone wanted me to find their owner. It delves quickly into a pretty unsettling story, discovered through unlocked pictures, videos, and texts.

The actual in game texting is limited, but it felt about as natural as it could get for a game like this. I think it took me about 45 minutes of casual play the first try to reach a conclusion, and then about 25 minutes the next 2 times. There is the illusion of player choice freedom, but in reality it's not a lot, both due to technical and gameplay designs.

It's still a really interesting and
creepy
experience. It's best played on your phone rather than an iPad since it simulates holding another person's phone. I hope this is just a preview of more things to come from the developer.

I bought Demon's Rise 2 and liked it so much that I bought the original, Demon's Rise. It's a pure hex movement, turn-based srpg. It's all about the battle system, character skill sets, and tactics. There's really not much of a story, which is a good thing for me. I like just jumping in and tackling the next encounter.

The hex movement can take some time getting used to watching characters zig zag their way towards their destination, but that's typical of a hex based system. The developer is very responsive on the Touch Arcade forums, and has been making constant improvements and updates. The reason I bought the first game in addition to the sequel is because it has loads more characters, and the game UI and systems are now comparable to DR2.

The difficulty of the campaign encounters ramp up well and provide a good challenge, even on normal, especially in the sequel. There are also free standing battles that you can use to level up and gain money and items, and then jump right back into the campaign.

I like the diversity of the character/class types, and have a handful of different teams going through each campaign because they play so differently. The developer made it relatively painless (small gold cost) to swap out classes on a team, so it's easy to experiment.

If you like turn-based srpgs, and enjoy trying out different classes and team combinations, both DR's are good.

Yeah, reported based on our own Killercow's tweet. Not their own reporting. Basically what I said about 2K's support page.

Wouldn't hurt to try for a refund.

Yep your were the source for that, well done by the way. Couldn't quite get to fit your name in the Tweet though as I usually like to name my sources. Sorry!

No problem. I didn't need to be sourced. I wonder if TA would have even posted a screenshot if I was in mentioned in it based on their love for me ;)

I'm quite surprised they even bother to source me to be honest. They usually don't give a rat's ass about it even when it's blatantly obvious that they got it from someone else.

True. There have been quite a few things that they acted as if they had a scoop when it was originally covered by someone else.

The developers of Street Kart Racing is aiming for an Early February launch, so not long to go. Touch control has also been added in the latest beta test.
