I liked it.

It's hard to take in all this nonsense.
Darkseid's daughter mainly, and i think i'm supposed to know more about this Anti-Monitor Mobius guy. wasn't he a green lantern guardian guy? It's been so long...
I'm aboot halfway through the first trade.

I am one with the paint, the paint is with me. I got my "holiday red" craft paint, time to see if i can close some of the gap the old fashioned way. Just gotta make sure i don't paint the hat part by accident because it's really tiny...

I am super excited for that DC Summer event without having read more then the Rebirth Issue of a lot of these DC books, But I think that I am going to hate that there are so many hints that I cant afford to read them all.

I'm really sad Marguerite Bennett's Red Sonja run ended because it was great. I just tried to read the current run and not only is the dialogue horrible but Sonja is running around in a chainmail loin cloth that has nothing under it. What the shit she's nekkid

What do you all think was the reasoning behind Geoff Johns' Justice League run being so meh for the first half? It's really odd.

cuz its bad

(he's trying to do a kind of Morrisonian-style JLA where he's paring everyone down to their Most Essential Traits but can't make it work)

Montress #9 - I read the first arc of this in trade form, and then started reading the new issues, but increasingly I think this series isn't really suited to being read in this format. The world that Marjorie Liu has created is so byzantine in its complexity that I find I have a hard time re-engaging with it on a monthly basis. It probably plays better in larger chunks.

Saga #41 - this arc feels like it peaked around the halfway point, but this series is just so consistently good. The strongest sequence in this particular one was the stuff with
Sophie and The Will, who have felt rather extraneous/absent from the narrative for a while. The moment with Lying Cat was very poignant.

Filling in the release dates for the indie books every month is like playing russian roulette. I try to leave it as late as possible as that shit gets delayed so often. Archie and Black Mask in particular are a disgrace for delays.

I like to live dangerously, including as many archie books as possible every month. I even tired to have a section for it.

at least the first one was somewhat interesting, like that was a kernel of an actual idea with substance in there

this was just...

nothing

just a long ass stupid ball of fuckin nothing

Well, it was another excuse for Marvel to shove Carol in everyone's fucking face, which is something they A) can't resist and B) have never had trouble with before.

For starters, he can't fucking write Wonder Woman. Also, maybe most of his creativity was being spent on Aquaman? His Aquaman run was amazing, leading up to Throne of Atlantis.

I feel the same way. I read the first arc as singles, and dropped it with the plan of picking up future arcs in trade.

The first one was offensively bad, while the second was bad from a weak story.

So much this.

It was just "well, we have a movie this year and it's the 10th anniversary of the first one, so...."
