Let It Die |OT| F2P roguelike Dark Souls with a skateboarding skeleton

Thats ~$1.34 cheaper than the EU price for death metals, works out at €0.60 per death metal. But yeah, I only use it if I'm near the end of a long run (or if the game pisses me off ;) ) The only downside with salvaging your fighter is that I tend to logout after spending down to no kill coins so sometimes it feels like its worth popping a death metal so I dont have to grind up 30K to salvage them.
Oh, I didn't mean I salvage them with kill coins. I go back up the tower with another fighter to kill the haterfied one and let Uncle Death bring them back to the freezer for free.

Death metal is 10 for US $5, with small discounts for buying in bulk.

I've realized at that price, using death metal is just like putting a couple more quarters in to continue at the arcade. I really only use it when my bag is full of materials I've been looking for, or new blueprints, and I die deep. Otherwise I tend to suck it up and go retrieve my fighter the old fashioned way.

You honestly dont have to worry if you die deep in a run (unless you need to unlock an elevator that's right around the corner or something). Not sure what happens if you go back and kill your guy to get him back, but if you pay the coin fee to have him brought back, he comes back with all the stuff he picked up, including the coins on-hand (edit: and exp earned.)

Hmm, stuff included? Don't think that happens when you kill them to retrieve them, they come back naked. Might have to salvage more often then.

Seeing all the love for the game after getting nothing but hate for a long time really warms my heart.

Sorry but the game is set up to get lots of hate lol,it will still get a ton.I voiced my frustrations a few pages back but after saying I was out,I started it up again this afternoon, its very addicting thats for sure, there some good ideas and all but you need to know and love rogue like to apprecialte this, its very hard and frustrating...I whish the hater stuff would be optional or something, the game is hard enough as it is.

That pause when you hit and want to stop and retreat is really annoying.

Right, seems like if you want all the items back then buying them back with kill coins is more worthwhile.

Not to shit on the OP but if I don't know what this is and I enter the thread I nope the hell back out because of that first graphic. It makes it look like it's for some 8 bit indie type game.

Went exploring with a grade 2 character on the lower floors to level them up, had to unfortunately use a few more death metals than I intended (random superpowered haters), but I still got about 12. Should be able to tackle 11 and up soon.

The fee gets pretty horrific later on, but if we're talking a long run you die on, that character probably has a big chunk of that on-hand to get back once you get up to the amount initially.

I hope it working like that is intended and not changed, but yeah paying the fee they just come back fully intact with everything they had at the point of death. I've always done it, I'm a packrat full of materials and blueprints at all times.

I'm assuming each stamp is in a predetermined area? I am missing some from the first 10, but not sure what kind of bonus you end up getting for them.

What, really?! I assumed you lost the money, exp and non-equipped items! (which is why I was making damn sure to come back to the lobby every time without dying, and therefore I didn't know about this). This changes everything; I can do suicide runs and I can earn more money than I lose from resurrecting!

Ah so at least for your first 10 days of play you get this...

This stuff goes to your Gift Box.

So, you don't get them every day, but you get packs of 4 on the 1st, 4th, and 7th days of the first 10 you play. The logins don't have to be consecutive.

Dunno what happens with login rewards after these 10 days are up, if this resets or what. The first people to be able to find this out are those who have been playing every day since launch, on Dec. 15th.

Are those one-day premium passes? I got one but I thought it was a one-off deal. That's damn generous of them, especially if they keep up this scheme after the tenth day.

Hahah, exactly what I thought after reading their price. Still, I don't think I'm ever going to spend death metals on resurrecting now that I know you get everything back if you rez at the freezer. Unless I max out the bank or something... Is there any use for death metals besides rezzing and bank space?

ok so I sent my Lvl. 5ish Rank 1 character to go on an Expedition this leaves me with a fresh new lvl. 1 character. Gonna goa bout completing as much of the Side missions as possible while making it through the tower.

What happens if you miss a stamp? After you fill card does a new one start and kiosks respawn? I messed up thinking since it was a red circle I had to hit red circle on controller when the red ones came along with blue ones.

Does the little number on equipped weapons indicate it's upgrade level? I have a few things upgraded to level 3 and it shows correctly in the bag but equipped it always shows 2...

Nothing, you just go back to the floor you missed later to try and find it.

Stamps are floor specific, you can't fill the card until you collect them all, one from each floor.

That number is how much you have to spend to use the Special Move for that weapon (Triangle).

I just started. Art style is incredible. Gameplay hit mechanics are a little wonky but the systems are all deep and solid.

Question. I got killed by a sniper after the training level and got sent to a hub like environment through...a game within game? I got confused in that area. What should I be doing here? Whats going on? Lol, uncle death is a pretty cool cat.

I was enjoying this thing for the first few hours, then suddenly the game started to pull in Haters far beyond my level, killing my main duder and then throwing level ~30 Haters against any fresh level 1 people I sent on rescue missions.

Can't tell if it was just bad luck on my part or if the game just decided it was time to try and force me to buy revives?

Oh yeah I mean, I get that. But I kind of just bailed after my level 1 got ambushed alone in a small space and died in 2 hits lol :/

Bad luck or poor resource management. I'm near floor 15 and have yet to lose a character. On floor one there's always a level 37 hater and even with a new character I can take em down with 4-6 hits. Make sure you level up equipment and weapons it makes a huge difference.
I only use collectors now. Having upgraded gear more than makes up for the stat difference between character types.... at least so far.

So I don't know if anyone is up for it. Or is already contributing to something, but I wouldn't mind helping out with a Wiki or page for the game to help explain and establish some stuff. I have some HTML/CSS experience or we could probably just make a Free web site. I have a bunch of time right now as I'm in winter break after finals. But after that I can still contribite fairly regularly. I just feel we need at least something to help explain everything due to what feels like often very lacking explanations and the need for some tips. Obviously undertaking something like that alone would be stupid though.

Maybe I'll just make some videos to explain stuff.

I like the Jackal theme, the game really does change once you know they are coming for your ass after floor 7. I'm farming Goto for green metals, and not even a minute in one run after killing a hater, that mofo Y showed up, so I instantly turned around and got in the damn elevator. Usually it takes a few minutes for them to show up, but he really wanted to kill me I guess.

Also people should know, just like Nioh, you can run in lock on, makes getting around and dodging bosses like Goto pretty easy. Since it takes a lot of stamina to roll in this game, just running for a split second is a great evasive option.

Yeah I know I want my extra slots and free elevator already

I managed to somehow get 3 one day passes via rewards I guess? But I'd like a 30 day one cause gosh its nice having the extra slots and the free elevator. Shits going to start getting expensive soon with the elevator if not.

Can you be raided while out on a raid?

Also how are levels determined for raids? I raided someone who was level 17 but he had like 3 level 45 defenders. Although i won i completely wasn't expecting that.

So this might be common knowledge at this point but I find it best not to use hard-lock on when dealing with crowds.

But that's just my personal opinion. The game does have a decent soft-lock on so you don't always need to hard lock.

Guys, something wierd happened with me. Some of the floors I unlocked today vanished. I have no alternate path on the third floor for example. Some other floors vanished too and I now see a locked path on floor 7 where there was none before. WTF?

I ran into a level 27 hater early on. I find the same techniques that work in Dark Souls work here. I used my fists and attacked just as they were winding up. I kept getting counters and finished him pretty easily.

Well... I got raided like 10 times last night when I was off. Lost 30k coins and like 6k splith. I only had 44k coins I was saving in case I died on floor 20 to recover again. They really need to make it have heavier diminishing returns. A base that's completely broken shouldn't be able to be raided repeatedly. I'm also being raided by people way way higher rank than me? Like Rank 46?

It looks like the tower has several floor configurations it cycles through. The one it is now it had been the floorplan a few days ago. It saves your map exploration though, that's how I noticed it was the same map.

Not only does the map change, but the individual layout of floors changes too. Doing the 1-3 run to max out weapons, I notice that even though the floor is almost always the same, there are slight variations between the ways parts of the stages are connected

I been sleeping on the fireworks launcher largely because the first time i picked it up i didn't realize there was a lock on and trying to shoot it with any kind of consistent accuracy was impossible but i've heard good things about it in this thread. I may need to start giving it a shot

Once you get higher levels the auto lock on gets much better. And even if it doesn't hit the aoe damage it does is bound to hit it anyway. :)

Just unlocked raiding. Can someone give me a quick rundown of base defense?

You need to go to the guy who does the TDM stuff and on the TDM menu you want to select Waiting Room and then Defense settings. Once in defense settings you can at the bottom pick slots for your fighters to slot into and they will be on active guard duty.

It should be of note though that any equipment you give them that you dont' craft and buy yourself from the store will break during raids. Stuff you buy from the store won't. So you should really focus on getting full sets of armor for your crew you send to try to kill people. Otherwise its just going to be really easy fodder for them.
