Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite Gameplay Trailer

Is it me or did that look a bit...slower than MVC3? I want more craziness and whacky shit! Hopefully we'll get all of that.

I'm not a fan of the realistic visual style. I liked the style of the Original MvC1 games. But, we're never going to see that again, are we?

The visual style here looks a bit too busy and hard to make out.

Also, I'm willing to bet that Capcom doesn't have the resources to make a good sprite-based 2D fighter anymore.

Well ArcSystem knew what to do, to keep it close as possible to sprite work....

Good sprite based 2D fighters are financial suicide. No one should want that unless they want games that take 4 years to release and have barely 10 characters in their rosters.

fucking unreal engine. same problem as with sf5: shitty, lifeless backgrounds with less details, because the engine cant handle detailed characters + 60 fps + all those effects (on current consoles).

As a fan of Street Fighter and Capcom VS SNK and someone who felt the Marvel games were a bit too busy and over the top to get into. I'm happy with the new changes.

Sure.

Disregarding the fact that a lot of the SF5 backgrounds are 60 fps and look fine and that both Guilty Gear Xrd and Tekken 7 are also made on UE4.

GG is UE3 but modified to do a lot of stuff that comes with UE4. This proves your point more though, UE3 is shit compared to UE4

I known I'm in the minority but I'm glad it's 2v2 with no assists. I'd rather it play more like SFXT or XvSF than MVC3.
I'm not sold on the art style yet, it does look a little soulless, but hopefully that'll change.

The graphics are a little underwhelming. I'd prefer the colors to be a little more saturated and generally the aesthetic just doesn't have as much style to it as the others did. Really need facial animations too. Here's hoping they improve it before launch.

Ryu Just trained his body. That much is nothing for someone looking for answers in the heart of battle

Have they given any reason why they changed it up from 3V3 to 2V2? Seems a strange design choice, outside of streamlining the gameplay.

Creates less randomness during a match and reduces the complexity since you don't need as much knowledge of the roster and their capabilities.

Also makes the action easier to follow.

Reduces complexity, same as no assists. I think 3v3 would have been better for fanservice since it allows you to play with and against more characters each game.

Hope the changes work out but if people don't like it, I can't help think that in 12 months time after release they will release an Ultimate version and bring back 3v3 or at least 2v2 with assists.

You guys are harsh, they wanted to show something, but holy shit that's not what the graphics will look like in the final product. :lol

MvC3 looked rough in the beginning as well iirc.

Honestly, I don't like to be a downer, but the positive reactions, especially from seasoned Marvel players, is what's most baffling to me.

This just does not look like a MvC game, and I feel like they should have at least called it something else. Which admittedly, would be hard, because the title is pretty accurate. But this isn't MAHVEL. I understand why they went to the casual side, but I think they might have gone too far on dumbing it down.

Mike Evans wants more casual fans to be able to jump in without being overwhelmed; in Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, each player had to choose three characters from an enormous roster, then choose one of three assists for those characters.

Oh you poor little gamers! all those options and choices

I love MvC2 and UMvC3, but the more I look at the gameplay trailer and videos from MSH and TvC, the more I get hyped about this MvC:I.

Maybe its the feeling that even if its a bad game I will be able to fall back on UMvC3, but Im not worried at all about this game. Now lets just wait for more character reveals and possibly a visual upgrade in the future.

I'm in the anti-shine camp here, it looks like eveyrone is in shrink wrap, but I'll hold out until the game is actually released. Art direction can make a break a game for me in some cases, like the weird cartoon character shader over real world textures in Trico.

Any, the game looks great in motion so that has me hyped. Slightly worried about the gems from SFXT but I think they'd have learnt their lessons, and I actually quite like it thematically.

Now just wait for character list.

More like Tatsunoko vs Capcom HD to me. And this is great.

Yeah at first that tag in made me think of SFxT, but the rest of the gameplay feels like TvC way more. Also, SFxT is thought of as a bad game, but the 2013 version was a really good fighting game, is just that the update came too late for there to be a community, and the netcode was still bad.

I have to admit, from what we've seen so far, it sort of just feels like a dumbed down spin-off with a goofy title designed solely to further brand awareness for the MARVEL CINEMATIC UNIVERSE (TM) as well as a means to advertise upcoming MARVEL STUDIOS (TM) movies.

Of course, it can still be fun, and the gameplay looks largely the same, but I think there's a very particular degree of corporate cynicism going on in regards to the alterations they've made to the MVC formula that's leaving me feeling pretty cold.

If you remove assists, high-level characters (which can't function in a balanced game without assists), extreme mobility (see previous), and deep team interactions from MvC3, you have SFxT. Plus gems. Yay.

There are so many falsehoods in this statement I dunno where to begin.

The amount of crying from Marvel 3 fans reminds me of the Marvel 2 fans crying over Marvel 3 (ironically enough, some of the people in that SRK forum I modded six years ago are in here now doing the same thing.)

New game, new systems. Adapt or stick with Marvel 3. Take the whining somewhere else.

It looks like they have refurbished Ryu's model, moves and animations. That means that they are cutting a lot of develpment time if they are not re-doing the characters from the ground up, which could mean we could see most of MvC3 cast again (minus Fox) and some added characters for a full roaster of 40-50+. That wouldnt feel like MCU pandering since we would have a lot of Marvel character variety.

MvC3's first trailer had TvC Ryu's model, animations, and even voice. Things changed over time.

So SP content attention + GAF FGC busting a nut. Already promising. Now the world only needs it to be good and sell better than SFV. Pretty confident.

Character models are less detailed and the abimatuon is nowhere near Street Fighter V level. Hopefully this at the least means we get a 40 character roster.

The market has spoken people don't care how great characters animate, they like large rosters. This is why Street Fighter V got panned for its small roster.

Looks much better than the last 3 Marvel games, which I didn't care for at all.

Games got too crazy with 3v3 and assists.

Thanks for helping us casuals, Capcom. UMvC3 was way too nuts.

2v2. No X-Men. Don't know how I feel about it. Everything is kinda meh at this point. One thing is for sure, I was much more excited at the MvC3 reveal.

I'm with you, but we'really gonna get slammed in here for thinking that.
