So I downloaded Ghost Trick but apparently I have to rebuy all the episodes although I still have the receipt from 2012... wtf?

You should be able to just tap the "re-download" button. For me, the IAPs are grayed out and I bought it years ago as well.

Severed is on sale for $3.99.

Just finished Severed over the weekend and it's absolutely a gem. Spent 6 hours on it and completed it 100%. If you're in the market for a deeper, metroidvania-like experience, this is it. That price is ridiculous btw.

Kind of surprised by the lack of sales for Black Friday and Cyber Monday on iOS. There's been a handful of good games on sale and a whole lot of crappy games. But I thought we'd see more of the games that used to participate in these type of things.

For instance, I have Transistor on PS4 but wouldn't mind having it on iOS and know it's been on sale several times in the past but not lately and not for BF.

No biggie, but picked up a lot of console games (including digital) so thought this year was a little slow for higher profile titles on the iOS side comparatively speaking.

Cant wait for Super Mario Run, just two weeks away :) but...

Titanfall 2, Infinite Warfare, Modern Warfare Remaster, Skyrim HD, Battlefield 1, Final Fantasy XV, Mirrors Edge Catalyst, Dying Light Enhanced Edition,... there is no shortage of games for me on my PS4 lol

Mario

Sidhe / PikPok
The whole App Store refresh was kind of weird too. Half the featuring just carried over in some way.

Been a bit quiet as of late since I'm 40 hours into Witcher 3

Any suggestions for the December thread title?

Excellent deal

"Jingle Mario Bells"
"Merry Mario Run"

Fun fact, my friends uncle was the lead producer of the Witcher 3. Gave me a free copy. Also, said a whizz kid in the studio developed a majority of the game's economy in the final 2 weeks. Pretty "wild" haha!

Just ordered Dishonored 2 on a sale, first console game I've bought since Overwatch came out. Looking forward to it.

Hopefully getting news on Chair Entertainment's next game Spyjinx soon.

Also, should be getting an update for that masterpiece "Meltdown" by Phenomenon Games (you TAers should remember) since they got the rights back from Bulkypix

Ace Attorney IV is coming out in just 3 days, although I haven't completed any of the other games in the series. It's still nice to have the complete mainline on mobile.

Got a super cool tactical match-3 roguelike for you guys:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/swap-sword/id1069162618
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fio4fsONZkA

Swap Sword, $2.99

On one hand, it fits the usual swap tiles to match matches three or more to clear them from the board. On the other, you have a little samurai that you can move freely around the board and have to evade and fight various enemies, and are able to choose from special ability upgrades as you progress.

Complain about not too many iOS sales for Black Friday and specifically mention Transistor and guess what? It's now on sale for $2.99.

The iOS Gods must have been listening.

And is from the people behind the utterly fantastic Sunburn (that game was too good). Damn I am hyped now, buying!

How's Neon Chrome?

Excellent IMO. I know MB said it wasn't as good as the PC version but I'm enjoying the hell out of it.

Biggest issue is heat and battery drain. But I'm beta testing newer versions that have a battery saver mode and 30 FPS lock. The battery saver really takes a hit on the FPS and stutters. So I've found the 30 FPS lock to be good at both reducing (but not fully eliminating) heat and battery issues. It's a good compromise and honestly don't see a difference with the 60 vs 30 FPS in this particular game.

They talk about it being an RPG with continuous progression? Can you explain what they mean? I've never played the PC version (didn't know there was one!).

It's a roguelite dual-stick shooter with unlocks that add to your overall item/weapon pool and has persistent upgrades for stats like health

Not really an RPG at all

Severed just got 3D touch support today with first major update for iOS version of the game. There are few other fixes/improvements too.

Hey guys, I just got an iPhone 7+ recently and wanted to try a premium-style game since I usually only play F2P stuff.

If I was only going to buy one right now: Final Fantasy Tactics or Severed? They're both on sale for the same price $3.99. I liked FFTA back in the day a lot but I'm slightly concerned about how it would control on a phone. I don't know how severed plays at all I've just heard its great. Other options I was considering are Device 6 and Solitairica, as they're the same price as the above. Whatever I buy will be my first foray into a paid mobile game so I'd like something great.

Thanks!

Definitely Device 6

If you're into puzzle games, Device 6 is a must-play. But even if you're not, it's one of the best games ever to grace mobile.

As for FFT or Severed, I'd say Severed, mainly because it feels perfectly at home on touch and has such a really unique atmosphere.

I couldn't get into Device 6 at all and found it hard to find the attractive part of the game. It's pretty and have slick transitions but it was very hard to get into.

It looks boring to me too.
But i said "it looks", didn't got a chance to try it myself.

If you replay Sorcery part 1, does it delete the could save for part 2? Did pretty well! Made friends with Vic and the Assasin, some nice magic artifacts, a sword bracelet and a decent amount of gold for pillaging the orc mines. Curious about the other routes though!

Was awesome, some dice rolling and minor stat distribution at the beginning would've aced it but so fun!

I'm getting the bundle now for sure.

Last call for December title suggestions
Pretty boring one but "it's a me, Mario!" Is a default one.

Or maybe "Nintendo will never make a mobile game" or something along the lines.

Got a cheap one as well: Brace yourself, Mario is coming

maybe with an added "to mobile"

however it would be great to include BoI as well I guess.

Somebody need to convince me on BoI. I played the original on Steam and it felt clunky and very tank-y. Didn't like it at all.

Also, it's December now where I am.

Actually, it's not out yet. A November release had seemed possible, but might have jumped the gun a tad with the title

From what the blog said, the Afterbirth+ release date will be announced next week so I can see the iOS release date being announced at the same time.

I'm still betting on it releasing right before the shutdown so they can be featured longer. But I would give them major props if they are brave enough to release on the 15th.

I just can't complete games on iPad and I don't know why. I can't go through longer games like Final Fantasy VI.
Maybe you just need a little break. About the same time you posted you were going to finish FF IV, I had just decided to play though the first FF, instead of browsing the store for one more game I'd never finish. I'm at 15 hours now which is hard to believe. Do something else for a bit and come back to it.

Yes I know that, but I got it on Steam and it felt clunky to me.

I wasn't wowed at first, but oh man have I played the ever loving fuckton out of that game. If you played the original, (from what I understand) the expansions made it much smoother. It's buttery smooth on the PS4.

They nailed the difficulty, imo. It's hard enough to be a challenge, but you start incrementally getting better, and every now and then you get just the right items to make you virtually unstoppable, and it's awesome. Tons to unlock, and the different characters make it more interesting and give the game a little more longevity.

Both my wife (it's a struggle to find a game she'll play) and myself have put hours and hours into the game.

Oh, and having played it so much I forget all about the theme. =) So when I first introduce it to people sometimes they get all hung up on the weirdness of the whole thing (blood, poop, demons, etc.), but you've played the original, so that shouldn't be a problem.

In short, I recommend it.
