10/10 lol.

All day and not a peep from Verendus? tsk tsk

He did say before all the hullabaloo that he was going to post at the beginning of the work week because his copy of the game was "at work" and he wanted to prove he had it.

Of course, after the salient concerns raised subsequently I'm taking a Reagan era stance of Balee but Verify.

I think broken street dates have no bearing on how Verendus professes to have gotten ahold of the game.

Ah, fair enough.

The rest of my point remains. Particularly strange when he mentions the game (or box?) being back in his office. Like he can't show us photographic evidence because it's inconvenient or something. Yet he's still played/playing the game. The whole ordeal is strange.

I'm thinking about buying a used PS4 to play this as well as some of the other exclusives on the system. It seems like this thread has long of gone off the rails. Anybody want to chime in or direct to some impressions?

Best game since Metal Gear Solid 3, and second best Final Fantasy behind VII.

Right there with ya duder. I just tried the Judgement demo out on my Xbone. First demo I've played, and it seems good, but damn is the resolution tragic. Makes me feel like I sat down without my glasses on. Legit eye strain.

Weird gaf drama or whatever aside, I'm also curious how first impressions are shaping up for this. I'll probably finally get on the PS4 train if it's good.

Verendus not responding to the charges leveled against him is not a good sign...

I was soooooo hyped after reading his impressions - it would be a shame to do that to fans for no reason.

It's just strange to me that someone would spend an hour writing up their impressions, post it and then not come back to the thread to see how people are responding to it, especially when a part of it reads like he's purposely trying to hype people up.

Even stranger is assuming he did come back to read this thread at some point today, which I have little doubt that he did, he saw the call out by Jason and the pages of discussion that followed and hasn't made an effort to defend himself, even if he can't provided actual proof until Monday. Very weird situation.

Whatever the truth of his access (or lack thereof) Verendus has been trolling Gaf for years. Drops a bunch of vague juicy hints, then ghosts. This kind of stuff is basically his MO.

By all accounts, I'm not getting why everyone is suddenly so negative after Jason's "accusaction" of Verendous. Jason isn't saying the glowing impressions are wrong. In fact, Jason seems to really really like what he's played so far. He just finds some of the information provided by Verendous to be dubious. Don't think that means game is bad.

With that said, I hope Verendous replies. Best Balee Dat!

I think most here are just laughing at this strange turn of events, not hating on the game. lol

I really appreciated J. Parrish's preview: http://www.usgamer.net/articles/final-fantasy-xv-travel-diary-day-three-authentic-road-trip

Schreier has some nice write ups at Kotaku too.

There's a kind of weird Edge extended preview that's a mix of negative and positive.

There are a ton of other previews out there on early chapters, many very positive: http://m.Neogaf.com/showthread.php?t=1296477

I haven't played a FF game since 10 and am semi-interested in this - are the impressions good?

Preview coverage of first 3-5 chapters generally quite positive. Edge says game goes somewhat off rails in latter portions. Not sure what's come out of spoilers from early releases because I'm not looking, but there's a thread for that...
