Final Fantasy XV Judgment Disc demo out now on JPSN & JP Xbox Store

I walked out of a restaurant and the whole screen went white. I can still see the HUD but everything else was white lmao. Hope the main game won't be plagued by stuff like this.

my biggest problem with the demo is how it handles battle zones. Enemies can be very close to the edge, and if you get out or follow an enemy out, shit gets weird. Enemies don't attack unless in a combat zone, so if you fight an iron giant outside the zone, he won't even pay attention. Honestly there should be a smarter system.

Can be very very annoying when in the middle of a very intense fight.

I guess it's the same thing as with Dark Souls games, where you can cheese enemies by going to the edge of their reachable area where they automatically turn around and return to their default positions.

yeah, but it feels a lil freakin weird when you exit a battle zone, and are still hitting a sabertusk or an iron giant and the battle doesn't re-initiate or keep going. its probably the biggest flaw in the system. I shouldn't have to make sure im still in boundary to keep fighting. the game should know i'm not running away :(this is especially true around mountains where you may only have half or less of space to fight than normal.

And im saying this as a guy who loves the base battle system

So I started a new game and right off the bat the Bandersnatch is at that little grotto.
Kind of a bizarre glitch. My first theory was that the game has "spawn tables" and it was pulling a generic Wolf instead of the Bandersnatch, for some reason.
But then I realized that I'd killed at least 5 Iron Giants on the "glitched" save and I've never seen on of the "Flaming Giants," so maybe there's some kind of "advanced encounters" flag that was completely borked?

There's a hugely noticeable increase in the number of random battle while walking around on this new file, too.
On the glitched one I could wander the wilderness for a full "day" and run into a single battle.

I have original PS4 (MGS5 limited edition) and while playing Final Fantasy demo PS4 goes into jet mode, this never happened before.

Can someone explain to me how he did that? Is it simply an automatic special attack after parrying if you have a fire bomb equipped??

Why does the hair look so bad?

It's really distracting to look at, can't concentrate on anything else if there's hair on the screen

Did you ever play Dragon Age: Inquisition? The NPCs with blonde hair looked so bad I can hardly notice FFXV's issues by comparison. xD

Happens sometimes during parry. Not too sure if the right weapon has to be equipped. No fire magic needed.

o.O no fire magic needed? Nice have to definitely try it.

Edit: By the way I have to give it to the development team for making this game completely functional with the HUD off. I thought that telegraphing enemy attacks to parry would be irritating and difficult, yet there is visual feedback when an attack that can be parried is performed by an enemy. Like the Boss gif, the enemy will flash so you can be prepared for parry.

I honestly dont feel like the HUD is required at all which makes me very happy because I hate this game's UI! :D

My launch PS4 goes crazy with this game. It's certainly the loudest yet (my PS4 is usually on the silent side compared to others).

Hopefully it won't. I think the previewers would have mention this stuff if it was prevalent in their builds.

Can someone explain to me how to fast travel ? I only can go back to the last camp i visited, its a bit annoying walking 1000 meters.

You can only fast travel to Parking Spots or Landmarks. In autodrive, after selecting your location, the game will ask you if you want to fast travel for 10 Gil (it's the message with 10 Gil in it). Select the option on top.

Oh, but only after receiving the car? Played Duscae and you could fast travel there without using the car, that's why i was confused. But that explains it, thanks!

The options to either auto drive the distance or to pay for instantly arriving at your destination will be probably not received so well. In which game to you have to pay for fast travelling? And making money is apparently not that easy in this game. Also, what if you are not near your car for some reason? No fast travelling at all then, I guess. It looks to be quite the hassle to quickly traverse this world.

What? It's 10 Gil.
You can do a single Mob Hunt and have enough to Fast Travel, like, 50 times.
If you're so desperate sell a Potion, or something.

Plus, Fast Travel isn't really in the spirit of the game, anyway, with the road trip theme.

Ignis deserves some tips.

Many people, including me, won't care that it isn't in the spirit of the road trip, if it is just super inconvenient. Imagine you are after a tough dungeon or mob hunt like 2k metres away from your car and you just want to fast travel to the next town. You first have to run all the way to your car and then have to be auto driven (which isn't fast at all) or pay. Also, what if your tank is depleted? What if it's in the middle of the night and two high level golems have decided to spawn directly in front of your car and you can't even get in? This will all be fun the first time, but not after half a dozen times. ;)

...Or you can use the "Return to Regalia" option from the menu, or you can use the "Have Regalia towed to current location" option form the same menu...
I believe you can also Fast Travel on foot to any campsite you're previously used.

GTAIV and V you had to pay extra to Fast Travel. You can fast travel to your car, 2nd option in the Map Menu. And it's 10gil mate, Ignis ain't asking for much. Also if you're out of gas, 4th option in Map Menu let's you Fast Travel to Hammerhead for 100gil.

Alright, if there are options like fast travelling to the car. :)
But paying gil and as much as 100, I don't know... I'll have to wait and see if gil ever become really scarce. Sometimes you are saving up for an expensive weapon/item and it's all gone and previewers said in this game money is hard to come by and lots of stuff is very expensive.

If I had to pay in The Witcher 3 everytime I wanted to fast travel I would have dropped it a long time ago. I was often out of money, especially at the start and in the late game/expansions due to all the weapon and armor upgrading.

Huh, so the other party members can equip secondary weapons? Looks like Gladio can equip Shields, Prompto can use.. whatever that gear symbol is, and Ignis can use spears. That's pretty cool, I wonder if it changes up their special attacks at all

One thing i really dislike so far is the ST bar. I can't even turn it off because it is necessary with the Blink ability so i can continue to run without being exhausted

I, too, wish there was a visual indicator that it's time to "refresh" without having to actually turn the bar on.

I also wish I could move the HUD elements farther into the corners of the screen.
Weapon array could move left a bit.
HP bars could down a little down and to the right.
Minimap could scooch a bit northeast.

There is a visual indicator! You just have to notice Noctis carefully. When his stamina is about to deplete completely you will notice that the way he runs changes (he lifts his torso slightly), thats the cue for pressing the sprint button to insta replenish his stamina.

Its tricky but you can get used to it relatively easy. ;) I completely turned off mine now.

Also pro tip = if you find a secondary weapon for your party members give it to them. Ignis = Polearms, Gladio = Shields, Prompto = Machines.

The reason for this is that it gives them more attacks and they can now link their combos together. So you'll see things like Ignis do a flurry with his daggers then immediately transition into a spear combo without pausing. Same with Prompto doing stuff like shooting someone then immediately pulling out the Bio Blaster and smashing them.

I have yet to find a shield for Gladio so I don't know if it's in the demo.

He drops an item and a bunch of experience.

I also noticed Ignis doing a dagger combo switching to his spear then switching back to daggers without stopping so it looks like giving them a second weapon expands their combo ability greatly.

Couldn't disagree more. This ratchets up the consequences in the journey. You have to plan ahead when to travel, weigh risks on dungeon diving depending on distance, level, equipment, etc. What you wrote actually got me excited, reminded me immediately of some of my more harrowing moments on FF1.

Look, I don't think you'll run out of money. I sold yesterday all my stock that I've picked up randomly in the world for more than 50k, plus I think you can redo a mobhunt if you want extra cash. I just think the previews on that were an understatement.
