Here are a few shots from benzy on base PS4.

The PS4 version holds up really well.

Am I doing something wrong here, or are these versions THAT fucking different? I thought the resolution was the only change. I mean, if this was 60fps sure, but otherwise there's just no point playing like this haha.

How does that run though? Last time I looked it up, I remember many saying JC3 ran poorly on PS4.

Last I played was unplayable. And I usually play through anything.

No idea if it's been fixed in past year though.

Almost a generation gap.

Eh, no way http://mygaming.co.za/news/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Just-Cause-3-PS4-Review-Image-1.jpg <--- JC3 image

Those above PS4 screens look much better actually. Looks like the XBO IQ is not holding up well at all.

But what I meant was, I expected an FF game to be impressive. If I may rephrase, XBO looks trash, PS4 looks good enough to be aight (along with the Pro version).

JC3 engine doesnt hold a candle to FFXV sorry. Neither does the polycount. The Characters in Just Cause are literally nothing next to the models of FFXV. So does the lighting with its GI implementation. I wont even bother with animation or the particle effects that go on the entire time.

Is this on Xbox?

Am I playing the Vita ver or what?

Is this on Xbox?

Yeah lol

I'm going to give Squeenix the benefit of doubt and assume they didn't botch the port like they did with FFXIII... And that this is an old XBO build...

Otherwise I ain't buying this

EDIT: FYI, my mate who I share an account with was gunna buy this for XBO. I said nah, buy it for your PS4 instead.

Not as much as aliasing. Does it have that, or just FXAA? Please no FXAA.

Well the AA solution is better on Pro, not gonna lie, but if you play in your couch it looks good on OG ps4.

If you use a monitor, I guess it's a bit more obvious. But that's also because I played the Pro mode and got used to it.

For the record, I played 3 hours without pro mode because I didn't know about it, and besides the lack of AF that was making me mad, I thought the game looked pretty good.

Unfortunately the XB1 version is a big step down from the PS4 version. It runs at a dynamic 756p/900p and seems to be missing some elements the PS4 one has.
If you have a choice, the PS4 is where SE put in the most effort. It's very clear.

If I never ever played a single minute of any Final Fantasy game before, but am curious about Final Fantasy XV, is this demo a good entry point to see if I like the general mechanics?

There'll be sections/quests where Noctis is alone, but you cant choose to be alone whenever you want.

=( A kingdom Hearts situation ... Urgh

I love to give myself a challenge and just not have constant banter too, just being alone in the wild...

Eventual PC mod I guess, but kinda bummed out !

I would have liked to get a rogue Noctis once in a while :p .

Absolutely. It's a giant slice of the final game of the opening hour so you get to play around in the open world, drive the car, mess around with the combat system, mini-games like fishing or Justice Monster Five, monster hunts etc.

That looks so bad that its embarrassing, Witcher 3 is still the best looking Open World Game

Depends what you judge.

Characters ? Animation ? Effects ? Witcher sure ain't up to par with FFXV.

Vegetation and mountains, definitely better than FFXV, but heh, can't have everything :p .

Also how about you don't use the worst version of the game to make such claims ?

FF GAF,Bought tomb raider to try and hold me over until FF, but that's not gonna work lol. I need another pro game that will definitely last me. Gonna go to gamestop and trade a few stuff in on Tuesday after work. Suggestions? Was thinking about watch dogs, but I dunno. Was thinking about BF1 or TF2 but not a big fan of FPS...

I'm not impressed by either versions to be honest but the Xbox One one is just out of the world... the PS4 Pro version looks decent at best, nothing mind blowing either, FFXV is too ambitious for SE, the world looks so empty too, I hope the second part of the game, the non open world one will be better.

Thank you, this is what I wanted to say.

World of Final Fantasy? Just delete the patch though, it makes the game look like poop on the Pro.

Maybe I just have low standards, but the Xbox One version seems fine to me, at least in action. I'm looking forward to picking it up. I've been enjoying this demo, and also played Episode Duscae quite a bit last year...and also for a moment the other day. Hah.

Ain't this UE4?

fanboy devs I swear, just like MGS

No. It's their own engine.

They would have benefited a whole lot by using UE4 but they had spent too much time working on the game when UE4 released.

vegetation sure is hurting because of this.

I can literally make a similar looking map with no similar looking asset throughout in less than an hour. It has great tools to avoid the "samey" look for natural worlds.

But yeah that wasn't really Square's concern ... That's fine.

Wait this is the Xbox One graphic quality?

LOLWTF

Are you on an Xbox One S?

After playing the demo I don't really think they needed to make an "open world" section. We'll see how the final game plays out but right now it's really empty and suffers from the "big just to be big" problem.

Don't worry, people are only cherry picking here.

At least they tried their best to make sure the game was playable, which wasn't guaranteed.

If you had a ps4 or a pro it'd be recommended but the xbox version is still decent. Doesn't stop you from enjoying the world and story because your hair is a bit messed up :p .

But just for the sake of comparison, the IQ took a toll on that platform. To make yourself feel better, the ps4 version is gonna look far worse than this in comparison when the PC version is out :p . And it won't stop anybody from enjoying the ps4 version.

Wow, didn't know Thunder spells leave the party's clothes kinda charred and their skin a bit blackened in places. Talk about attention to detail.

It's about pacing and reward for exploration I guess. It can make or break the game.

I just hope some actual cutscenes for randomly met NPCs / sidequests and not just mob hunts from restaurants for the whole "exploration".

Might be because I'm viewing this through my phone but is the hair what's bad here? Because hair on my non pro ps4 looks exactly like that when things are moving around

Holy shit, I'm sorry :(

GameStop is offering $200 for Xbox One S consoles towards PS4 Pro's still, I believe, FWIW.

lol

I ain't selling my baby, what you on? lol

For real tho, if a Scorpio patch doesn't come I guess I'll be getting a Pro someday...

(someday)
if someone would gameshare with me I'd buy one tmr jk

So do you speak Japanese or just mess around and see if you can get along?

Latter for me. Obviously you miss out on the dialog and story, that's what the retail version is for!, but you can still experience the gameplay and basically what the game will offer which has been a blast for me and I still really haven't mastered the combat. Still, it's a awesome thing to be going at it in a big Mob Hunt with the beautiful Hunt theme playing in the background. lol

It's cool, I'm not worried about anything. Haha. I just want to play the full game. :)

Image quality differences or not, I'm still very happy with what I'm getting. Can't wait! I probably won't be picking it up on release since I don't have much money right now, but it's on my Christmas list. Hehe.

Here's the thing, it's not "an open world game" for the sake of it. The game has its own flow, story etc... going, and then on top of that, a world that is opened, as in you're not constricted.

You pace your quest, we can only hope there's more stuff to find.

I don't think it will look more fleshed out, just different in terms of aesthetics, and outside of the more linear places in the game related to the story.

As for the graphics, this game is your typical japanese design, where they put a lot of efforts into the character models and animations, and shiny effects.

Like the world looks barren in comparison to Witcher 3, maybe, but Witcher 3 sure isn't looking like that during its combat :

So it's 50 50.
