Honestly you don't have to. I can only read some Katakana/Hiragana, so I can't read 60% of the text but I had fun with the demo.
I'm trying it out, but if it wasn't for the symbols for what buttons I need to use in the tutorial I would no idea I'm supposed to do. Not a big deal.
I'm willing to bet most people here and I'm one of them can't read Japanese.

Is there a way to have the car sent to you if you're really far away?

I also can't figure out how to have Ignis drive me directly to a specific destination. It seems when I have him drive to a marker he'll just drive past it unless I stop him.
 
OH just so you guys know, you can hold the interact button when a interact icon (not the prompt... the icons above collectables and people to talk to) is up, and noct will auto move and pick up/talk to whatever. It makes picking up stuff in threes a lot less annoying.

You can have it towed.

Just looked at some comparison shots. The hair on the Pro in high quality mode looks really clean. Why is such a minor detail bothering me so much? :/
 
As I said earlier, thats not right.
You have a frame window after any attack where Noct has his greatsword on his right shoulder. Press attack in that frame window, you'll do tempest.

100% of the time. I tested it out



IKR! It was way way tamer than I expected when I saw it. It pretty much cemented to me that the only issue with Cindy is her outfit. Otherwise everything else is pretty much okay.


You were right for some reason it was working with me that way LOL , but I don't think Tempest work that way when it performed after the charge attack ??!
 
Pretty sure you have to 'unlock' these with AP
Feels like about half of the weapons in the game have a unique ability to them, but yeah you can enhance swordplay by getting Airstep, Airdance, etc.

For example, you won't be unlocking Drain abilities from the skill tree and you're going to have to get unique weapons to do that.
 
Man, I LOVE how Prompto takes pics throughout the day, such an awesome feature I never knew I wanted lol. It really makes every day feel like a unique adventure.

Trying to decipher the dialog choices and menu stuff has been time consuming haha. But it was well worth it.

By the way, I'm pretty sure this has been mentioned before but I can't find it, but has anyone had any light flickering on inanimate objects during cutscenes? It was kind of distracting.

What do dialogue choices do? A few gave me extra exp, I'm guessing that's it?
 
Finally got to spent some time with the demo, and it's such a huge step up from Duscae/Platinum. Even just running around as Noctis feels like less of a slow chore. I always felt like I was wrestling with the combat even in Platinum, but this feels so much more comfortable. I think I also heard new combat music I must have missed in the other previews, it sounded fantastic.

Query to Pro users: how noisy are you finding your Pro running the demo? My PS4 is the noisiest it's been in awhile, maybe even more so than Uncharted 4. I hadn't really wanted to upgrade to the Pro yet, but, ouch, my poor PS4. Even the game on pause sounds like a lil' jet engine. The demo runs well, though.

I hadn't fully seen the CGI Regis scene at the beginning, and there was some lovely subtle facial movement on Noctis that was really well synced to the dialogue. Really impressive. Of course, I was compelled to do Falk's bidding, and spent awhile in Chapter 0 at the beginning listening to the soundtrack. Dat God of War-realness, so goddamn good. Whilst listening to the soundtrack, I may have spent time taking screengrabs of Noctis Snow, and the boy has aged like a fine wine. I love Ifrit just lazily waving his hand to trigger attacks, great little character detail. The Chaos throne looks amazing up close.

I hope the demo comes out in English (surely they'd release it), because getting to play it personally has helped relieve a lot of my concerns.
 
The transition to finding out Insomnia was attacked is terrible. They should've just played that whole scene from Kingsglaive to give more context. I finished the demo and liked it overall but there are a couple of things I found annoying. Finding mobs to kill is pretty difficult and since it's so much open area you spend a lot of time running around doing nothing. Hopefully this is fixed when I'm playing in a language I actually understand.
 
Got a glitch where some *really* bright green and purple lights popped up in the distance, I ran toward them, and the game crashed.

Other than that, I'm enjoying it quite a bit. Noise-wise, my fans stay about mid volume. Not too loud, but audibly running. Certainly not MGSV helicopter-level. Mine's a Last of Us bundle model.

I finished the demo and liked it overall but there are a couple of things I found annoying. Finding mobs to kill is pretty difficult and since it's so much open area you spend a lot of time running around doing nothing. Hopefully this is fixed when I'm playing in a language I actually understand.

I'm curious if that brief CG clip from Kingsglaive is in the final game. It felt to quick to hold any meaningful impact.
 
Omg how the Hell do I equip magic back? I had fire, I tried to add ice and ended up removing fire and now I cant put i back >-<

Played a little bit of the demo, testing both visual options.
"light" mode has a solid but not perfect framerate.
The "pro" mode has a noticeable better image quality, but the framerate is very rough in my opinion.

Is this an older build? Older than the one, which the latest previews are based on?
Hope the pro mode will run smooth in the final product, because the game deserves it :)
Have a lot of fun with the demo.
 
That was a lot of fun. Iron Giant and Bandersnatch were pretty tough, but I managed.

2 things:

1) This game really needs a "wait" system like in Fallout/Elder Scrolls. Had to just sit around for ten minutes waiting for nightfall before killing the Goblins for the hunt.

2) I have zero idea how fishing is supposed to be done. Both fishing spots I think I only caught one fish. Do I reel the whole time and just tilt the stick when prompted? Seems like I went through my line really quickly that way.

Also, Ignis' heal ability is amazing.
 
Don't have my PS4 Pro yet but been playing the regular version for about 15 mins. The game already looks very good XD. They did a great job.
 
Just played through this. Thankfully they fixed by far my biggest issue with the Platinum demo and that's the input lag which is gone now, the game actually feels fine to control now which is a godsend.

The rest I'm still pondering. Still not sold on combat even if it feels better to control. There feels like too many moments where the control is just taken(like the back attacks with your partners) and I had a particularly nasty time in an area fighting a bunch of bird enemies where the warp strike was being super janky, strikes were whiffing, counters were activating the animation but no enemy was in place so it hit nothing, camera issues, etc. Also kinda wish you could see the enemies on the field instead of them popping up.

Still, I feel like combat and the characters will make or break this. Can't tell anything on that yet but there's clearly a lot of dialog happening while you walk around.

World seems pretty cool too.
 
Any framerate tests done on the demo? I'm interested in seeing the issue with Pro mode exactly. I wish I had the hardware necessary to do it.

Was the enemy thing the same in Duscae? It looks pretty lame to start a battle with 3 crabs and more just pop out of thin air.
