I'm that guy during buffets/restraunt gathers who will on purpose eat extremely small portions with friends/family because at the end I'm the one that's gonna be finishing off everyone else's plates full of food.
Also, something you might relate with: Desi weddings are the WORST. The amount of food I see wasted during those is some of the most disheartening stuff I've ever seen. Grinds my gears harder than anything.
This topic hits the hardest for me because I grew up in the Saudi Arabia. According to this study, The entire oil rich gulf regions only consume around 3.1% of the total food available in that area. Blows my mind considering the living hell that is Iraq/Syria/Palestine/Yemen right now bordering them.

I never believed it. 2 even 3 copied moves mean nothing.
In general sense only Baek and Wang can truly be out for good because they clearly want them killed off, but the rest? Nah.
Damn, if players would make enough noise even Baek could get in.
I mean from T6 roster, Tag2 exclusives aren't really mainstays.

I think the new characters suck so much that people forget that there are around nine of them. People want more new characters because the new ones seem to be lacking in nuance and creativity is what seems like the consensus.

The majority of Tekken players haven't even had a chance to use them. Once the console release hits, then we can see how things shake out.Is it? We've seen most of them for nearly two years now.
I'm indifferent towards getting more new characters.
Tekken has an absolutely massive roster, so it's going to be impossible to please everyone outside of a TTT type situation, but the non-arcade audience needs to have the opportunity to give these new characters a shot before we can know how exactly they're viewed by the fanbase in general.

I dont want any new characters, I just dont think Bamco is capable of making interesting new characters. The last time I really liked a new addition was with Dragunov in DR.

One thing I've noticed about adding new characters to FGs is that its really hard. Once you hit your 4th or 5th game, new characters get a lot more flak than they would have when the game was still finding its identity.
Sometimes you also have to let characters develop over time as well although this is T7 we're talking about. Gigas looks really interesting to me now and I didn't give a damn about the character.

I know it will not be a popular opinion here , but i would be the happiest if Namco would stop with adding any more characters after Akuma , maybe Nina. I am starting to worry that with inclusion of additional characters being added when the game lunches on consoles/pc (as it was mentioned various times) the rooster will get to bloated again.
Imagine if the game lunches in april - we will end up with 45ish characters to choose from. No thanks.

I've been a fan of Tekken since the first one and since the advent of online play I say the more characters to choose from the better.
It lessens the chance of seeing Eddie or Christie 500 million times.
On the flipside - as long as I have Kazuya I'm cool with whatever.

I generally lean towards more characters myself, but there are two major factors to that.
1. I don't play anywhere near competitively, and I'm not terribly interested in doing so, so I'm less concerned than others about having to learn 50 match-ups.
2. Most of my favorite characters aren't popular, and if the rosters were determined purely by popularity each time, I'd never get to see 90% of them again. Yoshimitsu is the only one in Tekken 7 right now that's a real main of mine.
Completely agree with this statement. Not saying the new characters are bad , but just not that interesting to me.

I wouldn't mind so much if the old characters got more or larger changes but Bob is just the same old Bob, Lili or Master Raven have three new moves, everyone just plays largely the same. I mean, sure it's comforting to pick up your old character and play decently with like 5 mins of adjustment time. And they're obviously choosing to make T7 a game where legacy skills are extremely relevant. That's fine.
But if it's going to be like that, i want a ton of new characters. 11-15 or so in a roster this size, not counting clones. I'm a BIG fan of the clones, but i can't call them entirely new. (So basically the new-old ratio KoF14 has. I think that game has a great roster. ) So when folks ask "So what's new for T7?" one can say "Well there's these FIFTEEN new characters!" instead of mumbling about getting screw instead of bound.
And i like the new characters they do have a lot. Kazumi is great, Shaheen is great, Katarina is pretty great. Lucky Chloe, Gigas and Akuma at least have pretty interesting playstyles.
(Also i guess in general, once T7 comes out we'll have seen two years of Shaheen or whoever footage. That doesn't really feel like a new character anymore. So do some more for console. )

He's not the only one who's said this, I wouldn't call it projecting exactly because for every two people who says they're great three more will say they're mediocre.
It's bound to happen since all we have to go on is face value but for me i'll wait to try them out myself for a full opinion.
Yeah, one thing I want to see is how the characters are received when the game gets released.
My only real exposure to how people feel about the new characters are in twitch streams where people just say whatever but we're all Tekken fans in there. Being a super Tekken fan watching the game since beta in Oct 2014 has kind of turned me off to the "new" characters who are old news at this point to a nerd like me, many people still haven't played with the new characters, played the game, or have seen their storylines yet so, yeah we'll see.
I don't want to really judge the new characters until I've played them. As of right now, Gigas seems to be the most stupid to me though. Lucky Chloe's voice and character design are still awful, but I like her playstyle and animations. The rest seems cool.
