Digimon World: Next Order coming to PS4 early 2017

What is it with the World games and Machinedramon, lol

Anywho, glad this is being released. Been long awaiting a new World title.

English voice acting but no vita version and we're not even sure if there's a physical release either? Jesus.

Do we need to petition a Vita version or something?

Seriously, this is getting old. I'm usually understanding of no vita version for other games, but NB made a big deal out of how well CS did in the west, and this is essentially a vita exclusive that it's being ported to PS4 for the west. I mean don't get me wrong, I'll still get it probably, but I've been waiting for this announcement for like two years now, but not like this.

CS looked awful on PS4 and World games more than any other are far more suited for handhelds. This is terrible news. I hope we can change their minds somehow...

It was near the top of the PSN download charts for months, and the PS4 version wasn't. The Vita version sold better, at least digitally.

The physical PS4 version did really good and was probably the biggest seller by a comfortable margin.

That version pulled >60k copies in US retail alone.

No Vita version pretty much confirms Cyber Sleuth was a gigantic failure on it?

The Vita version of CS has well over 1000 ratings on PSN in North America. To rate a game on PSN, you have to buy it. The amount of people who rate games on PSN is usually only a fraction of the total purchases. To make things better, the game actually had its first month ratings reset as Bandai Namco took down the launch bundle. I can't imagine everyone rated it twice.

To put that into perspective, Bandai Namco has released three multi-platform One Piece games on Vita in North America. None of them have 1000 ratings on PSN.

OK, so this is really weird, what the fuck is going on.

I wonder if they just didn't want to add content for both versions and the PS4 version is like a "super" version or something.

That's not a good excuse by a long shot, but it would be nice to hear some sort of explanation.

Going to add this to the list of games I was going to consider getting for Vita but will not get on PS4 in the future due to the lack of a Vita release (joining games like Gravity Rush 2 & Nights of Azure).

I understand the reasoning for the lack of a Vita release and hope Bandai Namco gets plenty of success with Digimon World: Next Order on PS4 but will not be in a rush to pick this up whenever I get a PS4 next year.

I don't doubt that it did better on PS4 overall (that's the version I bought, too) but it seems stupid of them not to localize the Vita version of this when it obviously did pretty well too.

I don't think its fair to compare the PS4 download chart with vita considering vita is not really lighting the sales chart. But yeah I do recall sales for cyber sleuth being good, but not regarding one specific platform.

I will bet my money on the recent piracy issue, they probably got scared.

Though the thing is game is already on Vita and translation is there, why skip it completely? Maybe game could require 3.61 for it to work, I don't know.

I will be skipping this since I play most Rpgs on Vita.

Right so why not gravity rush 2? That just seems petty to me

Technically this is a remaster of the vita version with new content and graphics. They are probably just not porting the work back. Also it probably does have some relation to henkaku.

So upon reading more I keep seeing it's potentially digital only... My hype deflates because unless they make this physical or the digital version is relatively cheap i'll be skipping it because I refuse to buy digital only games.

Now if for some reason they could patch the JP version with English i'd love that but I doubt it.

Can I get an OMNIMON in this game?!

Not only can you get Omnimon in this game, you will also bear witness to SuperEdgyOmnimon Zwart.

This is the sequel to the remake of the original Digimon World?

No this is not a sequel to that remake, it is however a sequel to the original game that came out about 20 years ago. Here's hoping the MC gets voiced by izzy again as she's repraising the character for Digimon Tri

Digimon world is like a real time(ish) battle sequence that requires you to train digimon, no turn based stuff. If you want to see some similar but dated gameplay look up Digimon World for the psx and Digimon World Re Digitize for the psp/3ds to get a feel of what combat is.

I'm buying this game for all the platforms its on. This is the game i wanted above all else. Lets just pray that greymon doesnt come to the town to wreck our shit this time. You're going to see me on this thread like you'd see Takao on a western release for medabots.

Yeah the anti digital crowd in the console space are really annoying, maybe devs should not put it on consoles just put it on PC where digital is no matter and will save all the whining from the no physical crybabies

The PC port beggars are annoying too. If Namco can't release it in a form that's acceptable to people who want to buy it they have every right to pass it complain about it regardless of whether or not it offends you.

It looks like this is getting a physical release anyway though.

Shame it's not coming to Vita as I got CS on Vita. I'll still get it on PS4 if it's the only way, just a shame it seems it's not even worth their effort to port it to vita. In fact it's already been ported to vita in Japan right? It's just not worth their effort to implement the translations in the vita versions and release it seemingly...sad.

well it could have more content besides the dual audio we've heard about, plus vita being hacked and anyone being able to just download rips online doesnt help.

and to people talking about its looks, just note that there are way more animations in this game then CS has for attacks.

So, why exactly isn't the Vita version being localized? It doesn't make sense for it to be cancelled.

cant cancel that which was never announced for localization. again i'll bet that it didnt sell as well as the ps4 version and with vita being hacked open kinda made it an easy choice.
