I agree. The non-contact part makes it sound like an ACL tear, but the teammates' reaction is more consistent with a grisly injury like a compound fracture (plus, I bet those tend to hurt more than an ACL, and it sounds like this injury was brutal).

Compound fracture from non-contact? I mean I can see that if he has cancer in a bone.

I bet they do, but man, I almost threw up from the pain of my ACL and meniscus tear (plus I heard [and a person 20 feet away fro me] distinctly heard my knee pop twice]). Still freaks me out 11 years later.

The source did say it "appeared to be non-contact," so there's always a chance that it was a non-contract drill but someone collided with him.

Still, it certainly is less likely to be a compound fracture with no contact. However, there was that basketball player from Louisville who simply landed awkwardly and his leg snapped like a dry twig.

Protip: Don't image search "Louisville player broken leg."
 
If he was holding his knee and players were freaked out it's probably the patella. The kneecap or part of it normally ends up moving up into the quads.

I once had a compound fracture in my arm from falling down in a game of soccer. If you land on a bone in just the right way you can break it. Remember when Louisville's Kevin Ware broke his leg on a simple jump shot?

Same here, and I'm conditioned the same way (but there's always that slight glimmer of hope, just enough to ensure that I'm devastated when everything inevitably goes downhill).

This preseason already has been rough. Tyrod is one of the few things I'm actually looking forward to.

What the hell could have happened?! Trauma Center is no joke, this can't be a simple ligament tear....
 
Sounds serious, ambulance doesn't roll up for a prototypical knee injury. They have some of the best young defensive talent in the league. Real shame for the Vikings, hope Teddy pulls through.
 
Good new Vikings fans! Unless your team signs Chad Pennington you will have a QB who can throw the ball more than 7 yards!

Sucks for Teddy though.
 
I can't even imagine what this injury is that the ambulance was called so quickly and it seems so serious.

Really hope it's not to the extent his career is over.

Matt Moore deserves a shot. He wasn't bad that first season he played for us.... If you ignore th fumbles. If Crazy to think he's been on our bench for 5 years since. Time flies.

ive seen it. Kid i worked with on helpdesk was playing dodgeball at a company event, he reached back to throw and his arm literally snapped in half. Turns out he had a bad infection in the bone that caused it to break.

We could no sooner trade EJ than we could trade a staph infection. He's probably a good guy, but he is of no use on a football field.

Sucks for the Vikings, though. Bridgewater showed a lot of promise.

Teddy Bridgewater suffered a compound fracture to his left leg. Likely out for entire 2017 season. Tough break for a great kid.
 
Well this sucks. I'm a steelers fan but I really enjoyed watching teddy play. Hope he gets better soon. So does this mean AP's value goes up in fantasy leagues? I would think he'd be getting more touches with this loss
 
I didn't know your artery could explode from a knee dislocation. Not saying what this is but thought sounds frightening.
