Breaking now.

CBS Sports said:
According to multiple reporters at Vikings practice, quarterback Teddy Bridgewater went down in the pocket with a non-contact left knee injury. The Vikings immediately stopped practice as trainers rushed to Bridgewater's aid. And his teammates began swearing and praying, according to reporters. Less than 10 minutes later, an ambulance showed up.

The Minnesota Sanchize has a nice ring to it.

But holy shit. Hope he'll be OK. I have to wonder if it was a non-contact injury.

EDIT: Nevermind. Saw that it was non-contact. Damn. Feel bad for Teddy.

Sucks for the Vikings, and the NFL really. Watching a team with a back-up typically means watching bad football.

When I tore my ACL I screamed bloody murder, asked for an ambulance, and was laughed at by my teammates. Eventually I was helped off the field and given ice and drove myself home.

I had a meniscus tear that hurt like nothing I've ever felt before, but considering the league where ACL tears are part of the business, this sounds way more significant.

Dislocated knee? Worse?

Condolences to Teddy... hopefully it's nothing that will affect him long term. That said the Vikings are left in good hands under the direction of Joel Stave.

Non-contact? Hopefully it's not THAT bad. I know they stopped practice, but maybe it's just a sprained ankle.

Non-contact dislocation though? Must have been the cut of his life (or he tried to stop on a dime).

That doesn't sound like just an ACL tear...

Sounds like a compound fracture (players freaked out) but that would be unlikely in a non contact. Achilles or Patella tendon ruptures are as sore as anything and the resulting unnatural position of the foot/knee would freak anyone out.

An ACL tear wouldn't make bystanders freak out. The ACL could be torn, but there has to be more to it for players to react the way that they did.

with Teddy they are a potential SB contender. with shaun hill they won't make the playoffs. could also be players realizing the season is already dead.
but yes it all points to it being very serious

Non-contact is one of the worst things to hear about an injury. It almost always means a torn ligament or dislocated knee. Additionally, ambulances aren't called for simple tears even.
