I just realized how amazing it is to have tons of hotels nearby that offer free breakfast.

Just pop in grab something to eat and then dip out. No one the wiser, or at least no one confrontational enough to say anything.

Being broke sucks, can't even buy my own breakfast =C

I imagine you would need a hotel that doesn't charge extra for breakfast otherwise they would record everyone who went in?

I really don't know what it says about you, when you love bragging so much about skipping out on bills.

You must be everyone's first call when it comes to hand out somewhere nice.

Why are you broke?

Started new jobs in a new city so I have to wait on my first paychecks to come in.

Well good for you I guess, but still I'd never expect anyone to eat for free breakfast in a hotel he doesnt stay.

Anyway I expected the thread to be about breakfast included when staying on a hotel.

Cool lifehack bro

Sometimes you gotta hustle to get by. It is what growing up in poverty has taught me.

So you can afford Internet and/or mobile plan but you can't afford breakfast? Ok.

This may sound odd having access to my phone/contacts is extremely vital since I was looking for new jobs. So yes I prioritized paying my bill vs not.

If you go behind a restaurant after closing sometimes they have free bags of mixed food.

I foresee a short and pleasant discussion.

Definitely not something I would do or condone but everyone has their own priorities.

Every hotel i've been to with free breakfast has had a coupon for it though

Most the ones I've been to do not and have a buffet type setup (Marriott Townhill suites and the like) . And they throw away a ton of food. So I don't have too much of a qualm with someone down on their luck doing this. But it invites serious trouble. Just wish there was a way for them to offer it up without being sued.

It's why we can't have nice things.

So you are stealing food. Good job. Do you also leave without paying in a restaurant? Or just put some stuff in your pockets in the supermarket. No one the wiser!

Wow...did you just make a thread about you stealing?

It happens now and then on saturdays that I go to a nearby hotel for breakfast.
It´s about $10 for a hotel breakfast here.

You didn't save enough for the move and the lag in checks?
I went on a suicidal binge spent all my savings in a week and tried to kill myself pretty much every night for a week.

I just wanted a change even if I have to struggle for it.

And a gym membership.

That said I'm not sure it's anything to do with income, OP has always wanted to ditch paying.

I only got the gym membership so I have some place to leave my hiking bag during the daytime, and a place to shower at. (I don't currently live anywhere)

I was like "whatever" until reading OP was an aspiring asshole. Now I'm just assuming he does it just to do it.

I hate it when the "breakfast" is just bagels and fruit and OJ and coffee. Been to at least one hotel where that was all it was. No faux-eggs, no sausage or bacon, no cereal and milk.

Almost every hotel I've been to records who's coming in, even the free breakfast ones. They ask for your room number to check if you've allready been there.

Damn. Weren't you making a lot money as a fine dining waiter?

See if you can get professional help when the money starts coming.

Don't struggle alone.

Yeah they have a buffet setup but there's always a member of staff at the entrance to the dining room checking you have a coupon for it.

I stayed at a Residence Inn last week and there was no coupon. Just walk up and grab your breakfast from the buffet. Maybe because it was in a small-ish town rather than a huge city where they would likely have more problems with this sort of thing? I dunno.

Congratulations, you really deserve it!
A guy in my office admitted to everyone at the lunch table that he gets expensive food like steak at the supermarket and at the self serve register puts them through as fruit that is cheap by the kilo

Usually hotels ask you for your room number to check if you are in a room that comes with free breakfast.

My brother-in-law used to do this all the time (Myrtle Beach, SC). He use to take his kids to use the lazy river pool at the beachfront hotels for some free entertainment. He finally stopped this once he earned decent income.

why work when you can murder people in alleyways, steal their wallets, no one the wiser, or at least no one confrontational enough to say anything

I was, but I guess that didn't help me too much.

I've been to psychiatrists on and off never seems to help much.

Depends on the hotel. Some you can just walk in. Others have a coupon. Others will ask your room number and just write it down, guess it would get added to the bill if it wasn't included then.
