Considering her important role in the story and the name of the series, can we expect to see in the future a game with Zelda as the main protagonist? If Tingle managed to have two games in his glory on DS, surely it is possible to do something, right?

Miyamoto: We clearly talked with the team to make a game centered about Sheik, so I cannot say it is impossible to see something of the sort in the future, but in the classic games in the series, Link is the hero and that will not change. For the rest, you have to be patient and see what happens!

Link is no longer an Avatar character like Robin.

I think in the future, they really want to go with Link as a truly defined character of his own, this was shown in what characterization Link had in Skyward Sword.

I would also expect not being able to name him any more.

It's a shame that they won't make a female link but it only makes sense with what they want to do with the character.

Has any interviewer been smart enough to ask the question why, if Link is a different character in most Zelda games, he can't be a she (or either) in some versions? I mean, Link is not the same character in all the games. It's just weird to me that only dudes can be the Hero of Time and I don't think you lose anything by at least giving players the option, but Nintendo is very conservative I guess.
