Tsurugi no Machi no Ihoujin Shinshaku JP Vita

Parakeetman

No one wants a throne you've been sitting on!
Today Experience Inc. announced the updated Tsurugi no Machi no Ihoujin Shinshaku for the ps vita slated for a july 21st release in Japan. Basically an updated Stranger of Sword City.

Will include 2 new classes doll user and clocker?

Other changes and fixes done thanks to user feedback. Also new event content and game system additions are included.

Price will be 3800 new

Download version only can be upgraded for 1800 jpy.

Due to technical issues physical version is unable to be upgraded. Sony and Exp tried to find a solution but was unsuccessful.

Is that Stranger of Sword City?

At least, that's what Google says it is D:.

It is but no idea if it will come out in the west as that would be a nisa i reckon seeing as they did the western release.

But seeing how long of a period there was between sosc eng ver and the jp one no idea if the vita will still be as viable of a market for them to pursue it esp if its not like a full sequel as its just expanded content with the original game.

The digital download version can be updated by replacing the data files on the server side but the physical cant be done by patching alone is what was said. So they apologized to the physical users. Apparently they had tried to get it working with help from sony but were unable to do so.

Short of the original selling extremely well in the west, I don't see us getting this. If the upgrades end up being substantial, it'd be nice to import after finishing SoSC.

Im curious if there will be a decent amount of new dungeons. As didnt hear anything on that.

Ah thats a shame, I'll wait a while before importing this tho. I need to support DRPGs coming out here first.

Crap, I've already bought the first game... And I probably won't have time to play it until this summer :/

Doesnt matter, since I doubt you folks would be getting this in the West anyways as mentioned looking back at how long the localization time was between the JP and Western version of SOSC. Little over a year basically.

Am sure that NISA would be in no rush to try and release another version any time soon as it would cause confusion among the consumers and put the initial investment to waste.

Folks need to remember in game companies in general, development schedules always exist as any company needs to constantly produce things in order to continue creating revenue. Sitting around doing nothing means bleeding out big time.

As this was the 10 year anniversary for Japan, there was not really any mention of the West or localization.

This version of the game was basically made for the Japanese fans with an event they had did asking for feedback about the title. Seems that it was their experiment to judge what their fans wanted in a game and put it to the test with the upgrade to the title. They talked about a lot of this during an older live stream they did. Granted did not have info bout the new system or classes, but they talked about what kind of things the JP fans did / did not like with the title.

Really wish they hold off on the western release to include this, but oh well I don't know Japanese and no news of the update coming out in English so I'm not too bummed out.

Kinda want to keep the Vita version once my LE comes out to see if we get this update since I was originally going to give it away in favor of the PC version.

The doll user should be amusing since apparently it will be able to fuck up the enemy formations as one of its abilities. Which should be hilarious if it is indeed true. Since nothing more irritating when the asshole you want to kill runs to the far back of a row.

Pretty excited for this. The new classes look interesting and I want to see what the new story events are. Great art as well. Can't say no for only 3800 yen.

Apparently Elsa from Students of Round will be appearing in the new story content. Pretty interesting to see that. Considering the stuff related to
Marilith
can see how it potentially can tie into the story.

These news will affect sales. I don't care since I'm loving the game but a future DLC update in the West would be great.

I doubt it will.

Also, it was already mentioned that a DLC update wouldn't work for physical versions of the game.

Chances of us getting the updated version are low.

Just about the only thing working in our favor is that the bulk of the localization is already done. However, I think that SoSC would have to do really well to justify it. And considering that it's a niche title on a niche system... By the time they would naturally get around to this the window will probably pretty much have passed. I also doubt NISA will bother with DLC that can only be applied to digital copies of the game. I'm not even sure if the changes are substantial enough to even bother, unless as mentioned the vanilla version does gangbusters.

I think it's fairly safe to assume we won't get this unless they decide to port it to PS4 down the road.

Seeing how the West isnt too hot on buying the same thing twice as had mentioned, can see the chances of this coming out overseas pretty slim. As going through the whole production process again to create a western version, testing, localization, marketing etc isnt cheap.

That and NISA seems to be pretty keen on how the Vita market is falling through in the West. Which is why they are working harder on doing things themselves with Steam. Though since the market is different in Japan its why you see the main company here still carrying on as usual for the most part.

Would be cool if they released this on PS4 in the west and updated the XBO version to it. Probably won't happen though.

I like the glasses. Has she torn holes in her trousers with her dodgy claw arm or is she just wearing crotch high boots? Or actually, could she have dodgy metal legs to go with her dodgy metal(?) arm(s)? That would be a whole lot cooler :D

And the male puppeteers' puppet is adorable.
... and now I'm picturing them just sitting at the back during fights paying no attention to anything and enemies just falling all over themselves.

When I had first saw the clocker I thought it was something similar to what Rain had going on with her arm, but then noticed it was a totally different design appearing far more "magical" based than "technological". Kinda had wished they included more content about her as besides Anna she was one of my other favorite characters in the game.

As always though that Tsukamoto artstyle is fantastic really do dig these new designs.
