Yeah iron man was nothing basically , like bottom or average in terms of super heroes growing up to my friends and I , we all liked superman, spider man, batman but iron man was just there

Iron man 1 put the entire MCU on its back basically , what would have happened had it sucked ?

This makes perfect logical sense, but that doesn't mean it's the direction an Iron Man film should go, particularly since we don't get that many of them. I mean, you COULD do a Batman film where Bruce has developed Parkinson's disease and wanders around the country trying to gain absolution for his sins and never actually fights anyone. And while that might be a good film in its own right, it would be a very disappointing Batman film.

and it's solid for what it does, has most of the comic / cartoon plot points in it, and is actually better made than the previous movie, which gave the impression of having been made in editing.

Yes, Galactus was a fucking cloud, we yelled at it like children but seriously: that was the right choice to make. Try to image a planet sized guy wearing inside-out underwear on the big screen and not laugh at the image. Also Tony Jay has sadly passed away so no booming voice to make it sound serious.

Come at me, gaf. Also, that particular plot twist in Iron Man 3 was awesome and fans asking for that blatantly racist stereotype instead should be padded on the head and then fucking ignored, because fuck em. As a whole it's a really forgettable movie though and that kid / portal subplot went nowhere until the start of Age of Ultron or: the movie that should have been Iron Man 4.

Honestly, sub 50% never even crossed my mind even though the trailers did nothing for me.

I just figured a film THIS big and THIS important for them had to be at least competent

I saw 10 Cloverfield Lane yesterday which has a RT of 90 but I HATED the movie. Wouldn't even give it 40.

I'm willing to give BvS a chance, especially after hyping it up for years.

How about read something with him not from the 60s instead of telling people to go fuck themselves. Even armored adventures has a better version than white guy in a business suit.

Yup. RDJ starred as Tony Stark/Iron Man in 2008 (IM), 2010 (IM2), 2012 (A), 2013 (IM3), 2015 (A2), and 2016 (CA3), with a cameo in 2008 (TIH). Chris Evans is really catching up to him. So far he's starred as Steve Rogers/Captain America in 2011 (CA), 2012 (A), 2014 (CA2), 2015 (A2), and 2016 (CA3), with cameos in 2013 (T2) and 2015 (AM). Both have appeared in 7 MCU movies each. RDJ has had a major starring role in 6 (with 1 cameo), whereas Chris Evans has starred in 5 (with 2 cameos).

Honestly, you have to be a fool to think that a comic accurate Galactus would look good in live-action. The cloud was dumb though.


Galactus has always looked horrible in every medium.

Hey, I'm just saying that while both films are cynically dark cashgrabs that fail both to even have a basic understanding of what makes their source material work and to even be anything remotely entertaining even when divorced completely from the IPs they're meant to be representing, at least Fant4stic is only focusing on it's own internal canon and not trying and failing to set up like 8 other goddamned movies like BvS.

Hell, I'll just come out and say it right now that not only is B&R not that bad a movie, but, if it were to come out today, people would probably actually appreciate it, since it isn't really that far off from the MCU films.

There is a real chance Suicide Squad will be horrible.
It's like some people here haven't seen Ayer's last few movies.
Fury was good, but none of the characters were likeable. Amazing stylized shooting and INCREDIBLE music though.
Sabotage...I won't even talk about that one.

You get Ayer to do your superhero movie, and you're taking a real fucking risk in terms of quality. But at least its a risk, and it should be applauded.

Hell no. Barring fant4stic which I never finished the thors are the worst superhero franchise out

I would be incredibly upset if I leave the theaters of this movie feeling like I did when I watched Thor

I'm pretty convinced I won't tho. I've read enough well reasoned reviews of this to know just what kind of trainwreck this film likely is and it certainly isn't the bland kind.
