New Batman v Superman clip from Kimmel

Does Superman BLEEEEEEEEEE—never mind, I'll just watch the clip.

Edit: OK, sorry to be a Debbie Downer, but this grimdark shit really doesn't work for these characters. Maybe's it's just the movie's overall aesthetic I'm having a problem with, but I find it oppressively gloomy. It doubles down on the tone I disliked in Man of Steel. And Batman's flashlight eyes look dumb. I will still see this movie but I remain skeptical.

If that is going to be the turning point of the fight I can't say I care for how it's directed. So lumbering. Superman letting Batman take all the time in the world to throw a smoke grenade.

Eh, we'll see.

Don't know if it's smart to leave the lower part of his face uncovered there, but I dig the mech suit and bat shenanigans.

I see Superman still has a thing against structural design. 50,000 ways to damage Bats, and his choice is to run him through a building. Suppose that confirms that it was purely Supe's call to blow holes in all those skyscrapers when fighting Zod.

If it helps, think of it as a Batman movie with Superman. The aesthetics make a ton of sense if you approach it that way.

Man, Eisenberg is going to kill it as Luthor. I'm so glad that I'm likely going to eat crow about him.
Still won't ever forgive him for Adventure Land tho.

I like the gloomy lighting on this scene actually. I just really hope we get some good day shots too. The only one I noticed in the trailers is when Superman floated down to the Senate hearing

Plus God damn that bat armor just looks so good at night. Superman's loss in the setting is entirely batman's gain

He has super hearing too. He can't hear Batman moving to a different side/angle?

I think the idea is that Superman isn't prepared for Batman the same way Batman is prepared for Superman. He probably doesn't feel like he needs to use all of his advantages against him.

*explain everything to me*

*omg exposition sucks, trust your audience for once*

Some people...even if they don't give an explanation in the movie. You're watching God and a man dressed as a bat fighting each other, suspension of disbelief shouldn't be that hard and you could probably find a reason why he didn't use his superhearing. It was a very brief moment he did not see him, probably did not expect it to happen and almost immediatly rushes through the smoke etc etc.

The fight takes place in Gotham so...

Yeah it was totally Supes call to have Zod throw him though those Buildings.

I can't do this anymore. Please no more MoS destruction discussion. Kill me now.

Considering that this movie is about the fallout after metropolis and that batman likely lured him there id wager those are abandoned buildings. No need for the outrage over cinematic mortalities

Yes, the fight takes place in an abandoned part of Gotham.
