Welcome to the Bay Area......

This makes us look like shit holes :(

Rooting for the Broncos this time around. It would be amazing for Peyton to finish his career with a Super Bowl win which is why it won't happen.

Cam will be there for other Super Bowls. Maybe even next year.

Well, at least I know you didn't start that clown shoes petition.

"Cam is a meanie head so we don't want him @ CenturyLink anymore!!!"

<pouts>

In other news, gotdamn Huskies have some guy named Andrew Andrews getting troll fouls on my Bruins...y'all swept us this year. :(

Guess it's payback for the <city> Rams sweeping the Seahawks this year. :)

Husky hoops has a bright future! Andrews is a stud, too bad he doesn't have the size for the pros.

Got distracted by aliens shooting at me while posting.

XCOM2 out this Friday!

Home field helped the Broncos a lot. The noise kept Brady in a silent snap count which let the D know when he would snap.

Injuries weren't an issue (though having Solder would have kept Cannon off the field).

Defense on Broncos played stellar. Brady didn't have time (got hit more than any QB this season) so his receivers couldn't get open.

They don't need a run game. They won many games this season without running much. But that game plan relies on Jules and Gronk getting open in 2 seconds and it wasn't happening. When they did get open they made the plays, it just wasn't enough.

Cannon is decent when he isn't starting. He's a good rotation guy.
Yeah he was being rotated all game.

We'll we certainly hated the anus that week.

Carolina offense is too explosive and as good as Denver defense is I think Cam and Olsen are going to rip them.

Peypey is going to noodle away a couple picks.

30 - 13 Panthers

So why is San Francisco so dead-set against the existence of these things? (I mean, other than the obvious fact that they are ugly-ass advertisements for the NFL, paid for by taxpayer dollars, hyping a game that won’t even take place in the city.)

This post does a good job of breaking down many of the factors in play, but the biggest one is that San Francisco is paying to host the festivities ahead of the Super Bowl, even though the game will be played in Santa Clara. The cost to San Francisco is at $5 million and rising, and it’s all coming out of the general fund. Meanwhile, all of Santa Clara’s costs will be reimbursed by the Host Committee, with money from the NFL and private interests.

The run-up to the game has been actively disruptive for residents, with multiple streets downtown closed, and traffic and transportation rerouted around “Super Bowl City” at the foot of Market Street and the Embarcadero. Massive, unsightly ads are being wrapped around buildings downtown. The homeless population has been ejected from the area, being corralled in a four-block area away from the eyes of visiting VIPs. The Host Committee even requested that the city temporarily take down overhead wires providing power to mass transit, at a seven-figure cost, a plan that was nixed amid loud opposition.

More than that, the sculpture vandalism is a natural outcome when the NFL’s insistence on being the biggest thing in town comes to a city like San Francisco—with a deeply ingrained mischievous streak, and the confidence to know it doesn’t need a damned football game to have civic pride.

All the festivities haven't affected my morning commute so far as I use the ferry and everything's right by the ferry terminal, but we'll have to see how it is later this afternoon when I assume a lot more people will be viisting.

It's going to be literally impossible for the Panthers to win by less than 40.
The only solace to be had is that now we can bash the Falcons for being the weak link in the division.

"literally impossible"

Denver gave up more than 30 one time this year.

On one hand Peyton is probably my favorite non-Niner QB ever. On the other Panthers are the home town team, and the people of the Carolinas could stand to win something, anything at this point.

The Carolinas have College Basketball on lock. Colorado has the Broncos and winter Olympians.

Rooting for the Panthers but honestly want both teams to lose. I wanted NE vs. Arizona. If I have to pick one to win it's Carolina.

I'd say Carolina should mop the floor with Denver, but I also thought Denver would lose to New England and probably Pittsburgh, so who knows, maybe Denver does it again.

Meh, this division is one season removed from being the worst division in NFL history.

Two Denver Broncos players just told me the team bus was involved in a minor accident on the freeway.

ugh, hope everyone's OK

Go read some stories about the debacle that the NBA All-Star Game was in the Vegas a few years back.

No way the NFL wants that kinda headache/PR nightmare.

Seriously. It's hard enough to corral a bunch of young people making $300K+ in a normal city. Vegas should strictly be an off-season affair. The Raiders would be stupid to move to that city.

Yeah, I don't really understand the super blowout predictions.

Carolina could completely dominate the game and "only" win 17-3, just because the Broncos D is that good. There's always the chance that Peyton melts down and throws 3 TAINTs, I guess.

Taken 5 min or so ago on my walk to my commute ferry home:

This is probably more because it's still Monday than anything, but there's a lot less foot traffic around the Ferry Building due to the Super Bowl City complex cutting off a bunch of street access. I'm guessing it'll get a lot worse Thurs-Sat.

There is a ton of pressure to do something you are not comfortable doing when you get down in a big game.

Carolina is going to score on Denver. Once they go up double digits are the Broncos going to be patient and just keep watching Peyton throw ducks and punt? Eventually he will try to win the game from behind and that's when the game is going to go full 1980s.

It will only be close if the Broncos are playing to not get embarrassed. That's doubtful in the Super Bowl!

I agree in principle. I think if Carolina ever gets up by 3 scores it turns into an 80s super bowl. But Denver's D might keep them within striking distance the whole game.

If it is a TD game with 5 minutes left in the 3rd quarter Denver is getting the game they want.

I just don't see Denver keeping Cam out of the endzone. I see it being 14-3 midway through the second. Will the Broncos have the patience to stick to just punting on offense or will they ask more from Peyton? I am betting on the latter which I think will lead to something disastrous.
