Super Bowl 50 |OT| A Fraud Strikes Gold - Panthers vs Broncos | Sunday 2/7 6:30pm ET

Pats defense has similar year numbers as the Panthers defense does. Although Panthers had more INT's (2x more), they had less sacks. It'll depend how Peyton plays. He looked alright against NE because he did not turn it over. But the score could have been much worse since he missed several throws to open guys.

If the game goes the same as the NE game then Carolina blows them out period. Carolina's o-line will hold up far better and Cam can also actually scramble unlike Brady. Peyton needs to actually do something beyond game manage.

You're asking too much from a banged up QB who has basically aged out. He may do a little more in this game (or try to), but what will result from it? Turn overs? Possibly.

Rooting for Peyton though.

Wait Trump picking Broncos because he likes Peyton.

This is Rob Ford all over again..

Huh?

Rob Ford is wearing the jersey of Orlando Franklin who is from Toronto. That was nothing like Trump.

We all know Trump is just pandering towards a swing state. He doesn't give a shit who wins.

Which was kind of my point. It's hard to see how Denver wins outside of Cam and Panthers completely imploding.

Please Manning go out on top!

It's going to be a blowout by half isn't it? I can't take another Super Bowl like the last time the Broncos were in it.

Tony Romo is the next Dan Marino, by which I mean zero rings for a QB that probably should get one, count on it.

Actually same with Philip Rivers.

You better be sitting while your reading this....

It's gonna be a BLOOOOOOWWW OUT.

Denver's D is too good to be a complete blow-out, but my guess is that they are going to go down by a few touchdown's early and since the whole Denver D is free-agents, they are just all going to pack it in and give up so they can hit the golf course early and blame it all on Payton...

Broncos fan here. Anyone who wants to see an exciting game should be rooting for my team. Because if the Broncos win, it'll be a down-to-the-last-minute, edge-of-your-seat thriller, maybe even be the first Superbowl to go into overtime. Because that's how almost every Broncos win has been all year.

If the Panthers win, they'll probably be sitting on a comfortable lead.

I wouldn't begrudge the Panthers a win, though, they look like a team having fun all year.

Besides, what I really wanted, I got last week, when our defense ate Tom Brady alive and all the "Patriots are unstoppable now that they're healthy" narratives magically turned into excuses. So satisfying.

not to make excuses for the patriots but they still weren't fully healthy because dion lewis. that dude is good.

I never thought it was a gimme. My o line was still in shambles and Edelman, while in playable condition, was still recovering from the foot injury.

My defense tho. I'm so proud of them. Ever since Bruschi retired I found our defense lacking. They had such a good year. Now we need to focus on rebuilding the offensive line. And maybe a deep threat receiver.

Did the Pats O-Line pack it in to be in a hurry to go play golf, Kiritobread?

;P

nah they just sucked, Oline was shit but thats on cheap kraft for not spending money , it was a problem all season, they had plenty of time to make trades or try out free agents

I know, but that wasn't the narrative before the game. It was "the Patriots are so good, they don't even need a run game!".

So laughable. There's nothing more irritating than crowning a team prematurely.

Not to be mean to fans, who can be objective or not since it's not their job, but it was fun to watch the sports media have to either eat their words or come up with excuses a week late.

Before anything else just want to say a big thank you to Actstriker for doing all the OTs for the NFL season.

They were all fantastic and your work is definitely appreciated.

Maybe Calvin Johnson will be available soon. Sure he says he's worn down, but if he doesn't have to be the main workhorse on a team, maybe he'd consider it.

Dion Whois wouldn't have been the difference maker in that game. Makes the offense better, but not by as much as most Pats fans think.

Can't make excuses for Edelman either, if you are out on the field you are healthy. Amendola and Edelman were shutdown that day. Same for Gronk in large parts of the game.

Yeah, their OL sucks. They were outmatched.

I think the quick dump off passes to a playmaker like dion lewis, especially in a game that was decided by only 2 points, would have made a difference. especially with denver's defense. brady also threw two interceptions. who knows if he would have thrown those with a safety net like lewis on the field.

Any way for us cable cutters to watch this online?

I think CBS is streaming it online

I'd like this to be a close, good game like last year maybe with Peyton getting his ride into the sunset finish.

But honestly, this looks like it'll be Superbowl XLIIX 2, beating the dead horse again.

Yeah, Denver was able to rush three guys successfully pretty much all day and still get a lot of pressure on Brady. I'm sure having that extra guy in coverage made a big difference.

Hopefully the new line coach and a healthier line, maybe pick up a guy somewhere, and the O-line will be better. I don't think it could be much worse than it was this year.

Some guy, I cant remember his name sadly, was on sports radio in Philly last night. He said that Calvin Johnson does not want to retire, but that he is sick of all the losing and wants to go to a different team. It will be interesting to see what happens with him.

I doubt it. No history of frustration, seriously injured. I'm leaning more towards the latter.

Buy an HD antenna. Well worth it.

Don't even need an HD antenna. I use regular old cheapo rabbit ears with my HDTV, picks up all the major channels beautifully. I went through 3 HD antennas of increasing price before I found out they don't work very well. Rabbit ears work better.

CBS Sports will have everything streamed on their website, including all the pregame stuff. You probably won't get to see the commercials though.

Feel like they have mostly been a letdown lately anyway. Although I have zero memory of any commercial from last year...was the last thing on my mind.

Dump offs aren't going to win you a defensive battle. Lewis is good, but I highly doubt it would have made much of a difference considering how fast they were able to get to the QB and the superb tackling that was done all day.

Patriots need to and should retool to refocus on their defense and running game.

Brady might have a few good years left, but maybe he doesn't. At some point he will hit a wall, and we'll see his decline. If they want to send him out on top, then they almost need to start molding their team after the early 00's teams. Stout defense, decent run game, and a QB that can manage the game and take shots and win games when needed.

I don't say that as a bad thing. They had more success in that mold, than they did as a high flying offense with mediocre to poor defensive play. If you could build up the D, re-balance the O with a focus on the run, then if Brady is still good it's a recipe for success. If Brady falls off, you still have something to fall back on and can still win.

I don't think we'll see the decline of Brady like we've seen with Manning this season (barring injury), but I don' think the current iteration of the Patriots is really sustainable long term, and not really a championship formula. Especially if we see decline in Brady. They could fall fast if they don't build a better team long term.

Lewis definitely is a difference maker but in that game he wouldn't have been the difference between a loss and a win. The only guy who could have changed the outcome was Solder. Pats need to go LT with their first pick in the draft.

This is correct. It pains me to admit the Pat's gave Cannon a contract extension last year. The dude is a turnstile.
