What are your hopes for Battlefield 5?

- High TTK
- 5 guns max per class
- Limited tools and alternate weapons.
- Only one of each gun attachment
- No overlap in guns/tools between classes
- No squad spawn when enemy nearby (the not while in combat thing is crap and does not fucking work)
- Capture the Flag a base game mode.
- No jets (seriously in BF3/4 they are 95% of time just fighting other jets)
- No prone
- Server side hit detection
- BC1/2 type destruction
- No linear maps
- Flight school tutorial you need pass before you're allowed to fly vehicles in MP.
- World War II
- No auto knife kill, should need pull it out, then slash it at someones head for a 1 hit kill, any other body part is just damage.
- No RNG battlepack shit for unlocks.

expand on knifing, make it a CQC Minigame (not infinite, but maybe 3-5 ever decreasing windows) and also have both participants be vulnerable to enemy fire during this. back knife still 1hk tho.

just make up some bullshit excuse for why anti-air can lock onto jets from a longer range than they can lock on helicopters. just do it.

nerf prone more. make it so that you can only prone if there legitimately is enough space to prone. calculate angles and make it so that proning on to steep of a slope will cause their body to roll. and yes, there should be a damage penalty if the roll is long enough and comes to an abrupt halt.

expand on the bullet physics more and make it so that if a person is closer to their enemy than the end of the barrel on their gun they won't get hit.

every map should have CTF.

MAKE RUSH GREAT AGAIN!

Do you mean Bad Company 2? Cause 3's destruction is much worse than 4's.

No I meant Seine Crossing in BF3. While I am all for destruction in BC2 but if we get a city setting like Seine Crossing, that's what I want. Using a rocket launcher to blow up a wall and make rubble fall down on unsuspecting foes.. sooo good.

I mean that feature would be so awesome in Siege of Shanghai.

I played many many hours of Battlefield 4. Didn't jive with Hardline. Battlefront is shallow. I guess I am now a Dice fan.

EA/Dice have kept supporting and communicating with the community this past year, and this makes me happy after dismal launch.

After seeing the graphics of Battlefront, and what the frostbite engine and their teams can do without supporting last gen, I cannot wait for the next Battlefront game. It is my most anticipated game by a huge margin.

I really hope for more of the same. The same types of squads. Please don't use the Hardline approach for unlocking items, nor Battlefront. I like the grind of classes and how the previous games worked.

I hope they don't try to change much else really. Update the graphics, have decent maps at launch.

Ditch the single player campaign. Use the resources for making maps and such instead.

Please no more futuristic settings. Someone on Reddit or Youtube posted some cool plans for a Cold War setting. Anything from WWII, Vietname, Cold War era would be great.

I just want the tone to be more Kathryn Bigelow and less Micheal Bay if we stay in the modern setting.

Edit: had to look up what the hell TTK was but YES a higher one. I'm tired of people take 6+ bullets.

I really don't understand why so many people want Battlefield 5 to be Battlefield: Bad Company 3. Those are not the same thing.

Honestly from Battlefield 5, I want Dice to make a real sequel to Battlefield 2. I don't feel like that has happened yet. They need to go back to that template look at what worked, look at what worked in 3 and 4, and just improve. Imo Battlefield 2 was perfect. I'm just not sure if I want a contemporary Battlefield 5 or a Battlefield 1945. Regardless the focus should be on conquest, all else can come later.

I want a sequel to BC2, and 2142 but those games wouldn't be Battlefield 5.

This is perfect.

BC was DICE's initial foray into the run-and-gun COD style gameplay mechanics, which has had a negative impact on the mainline BF series. I want nothing to do with that personally. If they choose to make another BC installment, keep it far and clear from the mainline BF. BF is meant to be a highly structured, team-driven game, with well-defined classes and a full array of vehicles.

I think we can all agree to no single player campaign.

If it's WWII based, which I hope it is, many of the problems associated with fighter aircraft in the modern series will resolve themselves. Vehicles are paramount to the series, all this talk of removing them or nerfing their lethality to the point where they're nothing more than mechanical death traps is foolish. If that's what you want, there are dozens of preexisting games that fit that mold already.

Nam or WW2 would be great, but save the Bad Company shit for Bad Company III.

I would like to see Mouse and KB support on console, a cover based system and in game pick-ups -

- signed lv 16 BATTLEFIELD VET

I'd like to see the gameplay balanced for each specific mode. Every gun, class, vehicle, etc should be tweaked separately for each mode.

In BF4 certain guns and gadgets get buffed or nerfed because of a single game mode and it ruins it in other modes. Example: shotguns ruining Domination to make them viable at longer range so they aren't useless in CQ. Had they simply only buffed them for CQ it would've been fine. I'm sure it'd be a pain in the ass to do this but I can dream.

What I don't want is BC3. I'll skip it if it is.

I want something like a People with no time mode.
I mean, a deathmatch mode with all the weapons unlocked to play in whatever map you choose with all the upgrades.
I have no time to grind in games like this, and I'm tired of the poor weapons you have at the beginning.

Why? Then dont play on Consoles if you cant handle a controller.

It will never have server side hit detection. The game allows p2p connections as well as servers

  • [*]No single player component, at all. DICE have proven they simply cannot make them.
  • Bring back more classes, I want medic and engineer to be their own thing again.
  • Nerf snipers, heavily. Make them difficult to use, so people have to compensate for bullet drop/gun shake.
  • Bring back BF3's destructibility, rather than the gimmicks seen in BF4.
  • Make the PC version feel like a flippin' PC game, and not just BF3/4 on different hardware.
  • Unrealistic, but PS4/PC cross platform play would be fun.
The can, they just don't want to.
BFBC1 had a campaign in a large area where you were free to muck about and it was a good tutorial for the MP mechanics.

BFBC2 single player was nice too, with BF3 they went extremely linear set piece driven SP with cliches which was just terrible. Also BF4 destruction wasn't really any more or less than BF IMO, neither of them compared to BFBC2.

Also there isn't much reason for the PC version to be a different game by the way in terms of gameplay. It will be the same game as consoles but with better visuals and that's it.

Sorry... You can't NOT have a military game without prone. Prone is fine
You can, for balancing reasons.

That it won't use shitty ass Battlelog

I fucking love battlelog. Hated it when it came out with bf3, but after using as much as I have I find it incredibly convenient and better than having everything in the client itself.
I'm probably in the minority on this :/

I'd keep most of BF4 except for a few things:

-Better destructibility but still keep it predictable.
-Less emphasis on jets.
-Working Battlelog
-Better handling vehicles when it comes to buggies.
-Less getting your vehicle stuck permanently.
-More expansive Naval Warfare.

Setting: I'd like a post-apocalypse setting but with weapons that are still current/scavenged;
Gimmicks: No future rocket packs, wall running or infantry super jumps;
Modes: Rush, Conquest, Supremacy (from Battlefront, sort of like rush but with cap points), I like the idea of OBLIT but it doesn't work as well as imagined. Maybe try and fix it.
Objectives: Make the points have something relevant. Make it so if you cap an enemy runway, no air vehicles can spawn. If you cap the HQ, no land vehicles can spawn. If you cap their radio tower, 3D spotting is offline etc. That way you can react to your opponents strengths better.
General: I play mainly as infantry and sometimes it seems as though you need to stick loads of SMAW, Javelins or RPG into a tank. Even to get a mobility kill. I like the idea of a mobility kill and I think they need to go a bit further with the idea. First iteration can be fine tuned;
C4 - Nerf slightly, bigger blast radius or something etc;
Recon - Don't make people have to play through several guns to unlock a decent sniper rifle. If people want to go sniper, enable them to do that. It's why you have so many recon running C4/Spawn and a standard gun;
Scope glare - Too extreme at the moment. Besides people just drop down to a x3.4/4 to negate it. If you keep it, give the recon something to spot enemies in the distance that doesn't 'gleam';
Less unlocks - Seriously. You've unlocked a new gun, go back to iron sights;
Adaptive attachment bonus - so attachments have various bonuses applied. Either like a boost to stability or range etc. Make the +ive less as the player level increases. So level 1-10 gets a 10% boost to stability using an attachment, level 11-25 gets an 8% boost to stability, 26-50 gets 6% and so on.... the reasoning being that newer players need a little more of a crutch, and as you get more experience and better, you rely on the little extra bonus less and less;
Traversal - I'm fine with most maps, but I think there needs to be more non-skirmish vehicles available to get around. Quads are OK, but there's nothing worse being stranded and then having to yomp miles only to get killed as you see the objective over the last crest;
Controls - Fix the flying controls (at least for console), they are pretty hideous. There is basically one manoeuvre, dip into hotzone and fly out. If there was easier hovering then it would also balance the opportunities of taking them out more as well;
Levolution - Get rid. Feel it was the reason for so many problems this time round;
Fun Modes - Basically game modes where it's not just TDM, something like paintball etc. where there's not necessarily any death but where you can measure stats in game like accuracy etc. and try out new guns/playstyles;
Co-op modes - I used to really like the Spec Ops in COD, and BF should do some squad based co-op against AI;
Test Range - Keep this in;
Community events - mean nothing. Just a number, I'm not really involved - make them more specific to divisions or platoons etc.
Comms - SL should be able to speak to other SL as well as their own squad. Maybe a 'link' squads options? For those playing with 7/8+ friends/team mates. Make chat provate obviously;

Skip the singleplayer. Unless its a Bad Company style fun adventure into crazy town with funny characters that actually fits the gameplay instead of the overly serious campaigns of linear corridors in the last two games, I would be sorta fine with it.

Focus on clear class roles. Less gadgets that does absolutely nothing like the EOD bot for the engineer, the little airplane drone for the Sniper, the mortar that never could become fairly balanced anyway for the Support, the medbag being a all-time superior choice over the medpack for medics, in BF4 except being annoying stuff. Levelcap did a excellent video a long time ago about what could be done for Battlefield by removing all the useless, unfun stuff in BF4: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jTp9cnueRVY like that horrible AC-130.

Less cross-class weapons. Have each class have access to a unique set of weapons each so that they can have distinct playstyles. Snipers gets DRMs. Assaults gets shotguns. Support gets carbines. Engineers gets PDWs. Something like that.

Longer Time To Kill on weapons. Make it sorta on the range of BC2. Firefights feel way too quick and almost impossible to survive and teamplay with others. Cause the moment you ask someone to do something that requires them to stick their body out of cover, they get shot instantly to death.

Either remove the knife kill animations, or at the very goddamn least the one from the front. The one that is a sure way to get yourself killed. Nobody except if they are braindead have failed the frontal knife quicktime event, its way too long, its always the same button after a long warning animation so you are instantly ready for it. If I make a stab at someone from the front, just make it a quick slash or something that just instantly kills them. I don't wanna get punished for actually making it to their face and be the first to stab it, or get punished that they for some reason (either hearing me or just feeling like it) turned around the instant I clicked my stabby button when going for a backstab and kills me. I got that close to them, I clicked the stab button first, I just want my kill and move on.

No more fucking Battlepacks. I just wanna get the damn parts for my weapons without having to rely on RNG. They are in the game for no other reason than to be sold anyway. Use a system like the latest Call of Duty games, give me coins or some kind of currency when I rank up to spend on unlocking the stuff I want. Its more satisfying, gives me the stuff I really want faster and lets me make actual, meaningful choices when I rank up instead of having to rely on a DICE roll (hah!) to get the stuff I want.

Map design. DICE has really fallen on its face when it comes to this lately. Many maps feel messy with no clear design that makes them most of the time terrible to get through. No clear routes, often full of annoying places people use cause it gives them a superior advantage to shoot everyone anywhere. While I for instance have enjoyed fighting for once in major cities, having people walk around on the roofs and snipe you constantly have been a major frustration. The only recent map I have really loved and enjoyed is the newly released Dragon Valley, a 10 year old map from BF2.

Remove jets. They do nothing really except being either really annoying because its hard as balls to shoot them down from the ground or they are constantly locked flying in circles with other jets cause they try to for 5 minutes get a lock on each other, and when they do, flares, restart, another 5 minutes of flying in circles.

Also no more modern/current/1-year-into-the-future warfare. Its been done. Its boring as fuck now. Either make the 2142 sequel people have been asking for that could give unique looking and functioning weapons (machineguns that stabilizes after being shot for a while, portable shields, autonomous drones, GIANT STOMPING MECHS), gamemodes (Titan Assault etc.) or just do WW2. Heck, even a cold war gone hot setting ala World in Conflict would be fucking awesome.

Rushing up the beaches of San Francisco or Los Angeles. Fighting in the streets of lower Manhattan. Combat in the cold woods of Norway, Sweden, Finland whatever Scandinavia around some villages. Heck, make a map in Stockholm already! You live there DICE! Just peek out your window, take a photo, paint in some Russian and Nato forces fighting in the streets and work from there! The potential is great in this. Can even give the Commanders some really fun little toys to drop on the enemy instead of just missiles like a Fuel Air Bomb.

Think of how that shit would sell the Frostbite engine being rendered in realtime. Think of the fun for players instead of just being instantly killed by a massive explosion out of absolutely nowhere they would first see a dangling package being sent from the sky, followed by darkness by the giant cloud of fumes for a few seconds before the massive shockwave hits them as it lits up.

I'd like more Bad Company, but lets be realistic, that's not happening. Likewise kill times.

The best thing they could do with the inevitable BF5 is try and fix some of the rubbish behaviour from players by altering the unlock and scoring system. More points and unlocks from objective play, less from kills, especially kills from a hill on the edge of the map that can't see a flag.

The illusion of meaningful destruction like in Bad Company 2 would be awesome. I felt like Battlefield 4 was a huge step backwards in that regards to the point where I felt like the maps avoided it.

Also, Vietnam expansion please.

I want Bad Company 2 levels of destruction in multiplayer. If I run into a building to hide from a tank, they should be able to level the building (unless it's huge) to force me back out or have it collapse on top of me.

Yes to proper destruction instead of levolution. Getting rid of all the health regen would be good as well. I'm not hopeful at all of meaningful change though,

Bad Company 3.

Make it as over the top as possible in regards to destructibiliy, graphics and sound. Give me some audiovisual war porn. Give every bullet some impact in every way.

Lots of good, big fucking maps. Learn what made maps great in Battlefield 2, Bad Company 2, and Battlefield 3.

Slow it the fuck down. I want the characters to move as they did in Bad Company, not jumping and ninjaing from one place to another like in BF 4.

That's the dream.

A battlefield 3 game merged with bad company 2, in terms of weapons and map design, better campaign than 4, a stable 60fps at 720p.

LOL who get's a BF game and cries about the SP? Those guys don't even deserve to have a copy of BF.

The Bad Company titles were an enjoyable romp with likable characters. I realize you're a troll and I shouldn't bother with a response, but there is value in a meaty campaign, and it's something that the series has lacked for two iterations.

I'm pretty severely disappointed if the rumor that the next Battlefield will simply be 5 is true. We don't need a rehash; that was Battlefield 4. Give us something new, yet understandably proven, unlike the half-baked Hardline showing. Really though, my friends and I are just pining for BC3 but we all know DICE aren't up to making something that refined and balanced these days.

My hope is they ape battle(non)sense's BF198-something design project. It's pretty awesome.
