Street Fighter V Roster Discussion: P-P-P-P-PATTERN BREAKER

It has been a while since we got to see a new stage. I am curious if we will get to see an Arabian level alongside Rachid's reveal this weekend, and, potentially a Japan stage alongside Karin's reveal at TGS next week.

I'm going with Rashid (or whatever the final name of the North African newcomer is).

Eisbahn wasn't in the Ken Bogard leak, who's proven himself to be reliable on multiple occasions. That is, unless Eisbahn is from North Africa & they changed his name since Ken Bogard got his info.

I don't think Eisbahn would be the actual name of the character regardless. Even Capcom isn't goofy enough to name a character 'icerink' lol. Why have the name plastered on the poster anyways? I want an icy stage, though. Always loved the CvS2 one.

That poster definitely has me intrigued, though. Gill's like, half ice, right? Makes me wonder.

Cody a lot of potential to be a unique, fun fighter in V.

V-skill: Bingo or bad spray or weapon pickup (pipe/knife/wrench)

V-Trigger: Cuffs off = projectile fighter (makes tornadoes appear at range) and Ruffian kicks produce a tornado after affect like criminal upper.

What stages do we know about at this point?

Am I missing any? I wish they'd show off more stages.

At this point I'd rather they show off new stages than characters... at this rate we're lucky if we get 8 stages in the base game. I fear it's gonna be a MKX situation where there's tons of characters but too few stages.

I've uttered both of these sentiments as well. Instead of characters I truly wish they'd take the "World Warrior traveling the world" motif from SFII. Without it, this series for me will never reach the same peak in terms of world and character building. It's the one blemish I'd put on on SFIII as well for that matter.

I think a lot of what made SFII's cast memorable/iconic was that they almost always combined a geographical region and/or nationality along with a fighting style. Every character having their own stage along with the game showing you on a world map where exactly each stage was located really tied the character, the location, and the 'world warrior' aspect of the game together. This allowed the stage to be an extension of the character's personality. Combine this with the iconic music for each character/stage and you have something that sticks with people.

Well said - I fully agree. Let's hope they'll follow this example to at least some degree with shared stages that still fit each character.

If we go off of the idea that the character backgrounds are stage teases, then Mika should have a wrestling ring stage and unless it is a part of the waterfall stage, Nash has an Illuminati stage

I remember Capcom saying that there won't be character specific stages, so I doubt many, if any, of those character art backgrounds end up as stages.

Illuminati stage is expected to be part of the new zealand stage on the right side.

I really hope we get stage DLC! I see no reason not to. It's a straightforward thing that adds a lot to the game IMO.

Mika has the ring in her art, and Ken's art also has some buildings in the back. Who knows if they'll end up as stages, though.

Guys remember that Ono's English can be a bit borkish.

Either way I'm ready for more reveals, and new gameplay >=3

Same, but I don't think they're as straightforward as they used to be since they're in 3D or we'd be seeing a lot more stages in fighters than we actually are. I think they require much more work now having to model a whole 3D environment instead of when they were just sprite layers.

I hope is Cody so the Blonde Fighter V continues HAHAHA!
But really I hope that is Cody because is the only one I know how to use :(

If Cody is in and he's still wearing that prison outfit with handcuffs I won't be happy. I love Cody (my third favourite character next to Q and Alex) but I'll be extremely pissed if he hasn't changed, appearnce wise, since SF4. Then again, Ken's been redesigned in this game so sky's the fucking limit.

his alts in 4 were dope at least. I'm going to fucking groan if he's in the stripes again for his default.
