Street Fighter V: Vega Reveal Trailer

Just fuck Capcom. Can't even move on from a game that came out in the early 90s. God forbid we actually have some fresh returning characters.

And don't bother avatar quoting me because I accept I'm salty Alex didn't get revealed but this is still a terrible roster decision.

Face doesn't look too bad here, thought it is semi- covered.

^Best character theme everrrrrrrrr

Well there it is.

Guess we are getting 8 from SF4, 4 newcomers and 4 characters not in SF4.

Non the less hot damn he looks so different, I recall people posting in the Roster thread how he wouldn't work in SF5 and yet there he is.

I need abetter ver. of his Super move doe.

Alright, after rewatching it a couple of times, I think I found out some info:

V-Reversal: Backflip like SFIV
V-Skill: ??? (Didn't catch it from the vid) (Maybe the spinning invincible claw attack at 0:28
V-Trigger: Throws a rose at the opponent then follows it up with a drill attack. Can be done in the air too. Seen at 0:38, 0:41, and 0:43 (Last one shows him doing it in the air.

Just my thoughts, nothing official of course.

Combofiend has a post about Vega.

V-Skill- Matador Turn
Vega swiftly dodges the opponent’s incoming attack and chooses whether to launch a quick counterattack that knocks them down or not.

V-Trigger- Bloody Kiss
Vega throws a rose at high velocity towards the opponent. If it hits, he charges behind it and delivers a series of brutal slashes that devastate the enemy. The move can be done as an anti-air from crouch or as an air attack when jumping forward, making it an extremely versatile projectile attack, as well as a combo extender.

I can't recall anyone listing Vega as playable in SF5, though he doesn't seem much different.

I'm guessing this means Balrog will be playable as well.

The other important thing is that he's a stance character now.

That’s right, he now has the ability to sheathe his claw during battle in exchange for new moves, such as a command grab, as well as new attack properties, greatly changing the way he approaches each fight. Knowing when to toggle between the two styles will be the key to success, and it also allows for new combo possibilities. Conversely, Vega will no longer be able to pick up his claw once it’s knocked off, so knowing how to fight without the claw is a must! Players who enjoy tricky movement and the technical challenge of switching between claw/no-claw fighting styles will definitely find the beauty in Vega’s play style.

Also not being able to pick up the claw once you lose it seems kinda shitty?

My SF4 main is back!!! Yes!!!

Looks like they highlighted how you don't have to play turtle and press good buttons to win. Hopefully he's still as good at pokes as always.

Whenever someone asks me why I like to play Vega. "Because I like to press buttons". Hopefully his buttons are as annoying as always.

Two Stances, projectile and a better dodge?
Damn.
The threshold for losing the claw is the only thing that worries me

Ugh what; thinking about all the interesting characters (old and new) they could have had and we get Claw. Who actually uses Claw seriously; was there even a demand; I can see the uniqueness and potential story connections but what's so fun about his bizarre boring non-ninja like ninja style that would warrant inclusion? (And the trailer doesn't blind me to the reality that 99.9% of players will play him the usual turtling, pokey way.)

They better put Urien in to make up for this rubbish.

Getting "Blond Fighter V" up in here.

Dudes got that Tuxedo Mask rose throw going on now.

After getting the chance to play the Beta (for 15 minutes) I don't mind the returning characters since some of the play very differently from previous incarnations (Nash in particular), I would love to new characters now simply for visual variety.

OOOOHHHHH MMMMMYYYYY FFFFUUUUCCCCKKKKIIIINNNNGGGG GGGGOOOODDDD!!!!

Claw's been my main ever since SFII:CE and I never would've guessed he'd be in SFV. Not only is he in SFV, but it looks like he can combo like a beast (a big complaint I had from him in SFIV).

Have I mentioned that his character model looks outstanding?! Thematically in line with his character, but brought up to speed with modern aesthetics.

Hype. /PassesOut

Vega on the starting roster? Enough with the World Warriors plz. We don't need this to be SFII or SFIV redux (with regards to the roster).

Happy to see Vega but, he could have waited until the next round of DLC characters or whatever.

...same with Ken, but that's another story.

Wow, he actually looks cool. Like, his play style has always looked super fucking boring to me, but I might even give him a try now!

And if Ken wasn't enough this further disapproved that "leak" so we can finally say that the leak is a bunch of BS and we can't rule out the possibility that this game does take place AFTER Street Fighter III.

Ugh. I thought he was going to be DLC character for sure. And outside the rose hit teleport thingy, he doesn't seem all that different from before. And his V Reversal looks kinda trash.

The roster will probably be;

Ryu
Ken
Chun Li
Bison
Cammy
Vega
Some other boring SF2 character
Juri

Nash
Birdie
Urien
R Mika/Karin

4 Newcomers

It's amazing how after one reveal I've gone from being hyped about this game and the potential roster to just not giving a fuck anymore. I guess this is what acceptance is like.
