What time period do you think the next Battlefield should go?

Heres a crazy idea..BF4 is actually tons of fun now...how about just supporting that game with new expansions for the next couple of years....whats there to lose , make enough content for a full new game price but make it be a new expansion, you already have your huge playerbase.. This way we can keep the stats and current setup and can still play on servers with older bf4 content and new expansion content at random..like with the dlc.

you can even have a bf4 vietnam expansion like the bc2 one or ww2 expansion
BF4 was designed with PS360 in mind. A lot of things were compromised due to memory shortage.

Would prefer a clean break from crossgen era.

Bad Company 3 or return to WWII...also the game shouldn't be released till 2017 or later.

Edit: Yea I would like 2143 but I dont see how it will differ from Star Wars enough. I'd rather go BC3 or WWII and then jump to 2143. Allow for more ideas to form...

The genre is riding the futuristic train with no hint of change anytime soon, BF won't be an exception. People of authority within studios/publishers are pushing the hard to balance gimmicks like jet packs, drones and cloaking devices.

Personally I prefer rifles, muskets and even crossbows to shoot others rather than guiding RC toys and missiles into them. It will be a while before the industry realizes that gimmicks aren't necessary.

If we don't get 2143 we riot

This. No WW2 games please.

Because they play differently. Star Wars looks more like garden warfare to me rather than battlefield.

Nah, WW2 is boring. Its been covered by just soooooo many shooters.

Future is the best cause it allows for more imaginative and creative weapons and vehicles

WW2 and Modern are both played out. I agree that 'near' future is the way to go as they can be a lot more creative with the weaponry.

Either back to WW2, or a post apocalyptic tribal set up where you have to scavenge for things like TLoU, and have vehicles and whatever left over war machines kinda like Mad Max.

WW2 or Vietnam, though I'm not sure if the latter would be well received in the US.

No more future stuff, it needs to step aside from what's already on the market.

They kind of messed with that a bit in the aftermath expansion in Battlefield 3. Not a great deal, but all the maps take place in Iran after a major earthquake. The area is devastated, the soldier models are damaged, the vehicles are makeshift, and they even had an improvised crossbow weapon.

But then you also had all the basic guns and equipment, so it wasn't that different from the norm.

I don't know if you're joking but that sounds fucking awesome.
Right!?

I've got so many ideas! Teleporters and Teleporters disruption. Drones and automation. Hacking. Jetpacks on Mars. Unique gravity on maps or in/out if buildings.

Dice, it's obviously the right decision.

Vietnam would be interesting to see with an upgraded Frostbite engine. Near-total destructibility in a jungle setting could open up new strategies and gameplay styles.

2143 is the obvious direction, and I'd love to go back to that setting. I need my proper Titan Mode fix.

2143 seems obvious keep in mind they are making star wars. I know it's not the same but it's still a sci fi multiplayer centric shooter. They might be fatigued with the setting.
