What time period do you think the next Battlefield should go?

2143 should be their next step, though DICE is basically making that with Battlefront. I'd rather see the 1940s played out again.

Which ever one Bad Company was in...

Future is getting all played out. Too many tech suits, super jumps and wall running. Plus DICE have Battlefront coming out, so they won't compete with 2 futuristic Battlefield games.

Give me futuristic/sci-fi or WW1/WW2, I've never liked modern military shooters. I'd actually love to see WW1 games... aviation of the time, fighting in the trenches, I think it could be kind of fun how a game/players might approach trench warfare.

And no fucking exosuits

Put me in for WWII as well.

As much as I loved Bad Company 2, it was 1943 that was always the best game in the series.

It was just sorely undersupported.

no, but that's the source of his misplaced ire. I didn't mention consoles once. I said "non-consoles". I don't even need to debate. I remember the Metro hate on PC centered threads and webpages when I was a semi-serious Bf3 player.

We only ever used it as a grinder for XP and unlocks. I mean, I had fun with it, but I had 20X more fun with the other maps.

. And before someone smart comes in and says hoy this is a totally subjective experience. it is notThis story is repeated many times in the PC BF3 community.

God please not another WW2 game though. Please no.

Nope lol.

I despise metro and there are a BF players out there don't like it either but what you're saying is totally not what happened when I was playing back then. Metro was the most played map by a large margin to the point where it nearly populated the majority of full maps for more than a year till I stopped playing. Most people weren't just using it for unlocking and XP points but for fun at that stage. It's a map where it's easy kills, easy to spam weapons, tight corners which is basically everything a lot of players love as it's instant reward with little effort. People were even joking that they were going to bring it back in BF4 in a form of "Back to Metro". It's far worse on PC due to 64 player population making spamming more rewarding due to more people grouping together.

You mean Metro Map 1944? I'm not sure how popular this would be with the non-console crowd.

BF1942. There were a few maps that were on a level of Metro.

Omaha Beach which is the picture in question Stalingrad,Berlin comes close, Monte Cassino etc. Each BF has had a few smaller confined maps that make kills easy.

OT, Not really interested in future nor WW2. Overused at this stage.

If sticking to history, they could do something related to piracy. Different countries, different styled guns/knives/swords etc on a large scale fighting on islands/shores/jungles.

They might as well create some form of alternate universe at this rate to keep it fresh. Go for some crazy super tank, Massive battleships fighting off destroyers etc.

Ww2 plz
I miss Ww2 games.

There's already WW2 games like RO2 which are perfect. You really shouldn't need any more than that as it's highly unlikely they'll do WW2 better than that sort of game.

I'd rather see COD actually try something new that hasn't been seen before in a video game, kind of like how it was with COD4 before they kept doing the same thing over and over again.

The idea if another future shooter does nothing for me. Vietnam or ww2 would both be awesome. I loved the Vietnam expansion for the PS3 BF. Great soundtrack and weapons/vehicles. As for WW2 it's a shame that setting has gone so out of fashion

Battlefield 1886. Maybe with some kind of alternative steam age setting. Oh, and with a werewolf mode. Zombie mode has been done to death.

They should introduce a wacky time travel plot so they can travel between World War II, Vietnam, modern day, and the future. C'mon. That'd be cool.

Red Orchestra 2 is fairly old (4 years) now and was a mid-tier game to begin with. Plus, folks don't always want quite that level of sim-ness. I don't think it's the be-all end-all WWII fps.

I'm sorry but how the hell are people still saying "please no more WW2 games" It's been what... 7 years since world at war? Which was pretty much the last big franchise WW2 game.

The market is completely and utterly over saturated with modern shooters and the zeitgeist now pushing things entirely into "near future" which is already getting old fast.

How anyone can still be sucking up these stale formats and lament the notion of a big franchise going back to WW2 when there has been so many technical improvements since their last attempts simply boggles the mind.

(yes I am aware of PC old war games that are great like RO, but these are very different things to a battlefield/cod/moh)

I really, really want Bad Company 3. It's probably gonna be futuristic 2143 though as I feel there have been several leaks that make it seem very likely.

Heres a crazy idea..BF4 is actually tons of fun now...how about just supporting that game with new expansions for the next couple of years....whats there to lose , make enough content for a full new game price but make it be a new expansion, you already have your huge playerbase.. This way we can keep the stats and current setup and can still play on servers with older bf4 content and new expansion content at random..like with the dlc.

you can even have a bf4 vietnam expansion like the bc2 one or ww2 expansion

Battlefield Mongol Horde.

Ride with Genghis Khan as he subdues East Asia with his combination of astonishing miltary nous, brutal and uncompromising leadership and shagging everything in sight.

Tentative DLC - Road Of Skulls. Build a road from the skulls of your defeated enemies.

WW1

Debating wether The PC crowd like the Metro map is not exactly a console vs PC war though is it lol.

It's not even a debate. People like chokehold maps because they can rack up kills quickly. Instant gratification. This has been true in every Battlefield game PC or Console. Saying that small maps on consoles are more popular is one thing, but going as far to say that that only console players enjoy those maps is stupid. Especially when all you have to back that up is anecdotal bullshit.
