I am actually surprised that you aren't claiming validation of all those "Working as intended" comments. Capcom just straight up admitted that this whole thing didn't work at all as how it was supposed and they will still run their three phases of console only/cross play/stuff.
There's no validation to take here as I was stating the obvious and people thought I was acting childish.

Might as well take validation for saying telling people that pre-orders are bad or that PR people will say anything to sell a product or that leakers sometimes leak fake shit just to rile up some people. It's just obvious, plain as day stuff.

A Japanese company that had a beta that barely worked giving things to people based on IP address.

Well if they actually give people stuff based on whether their IPs pinged the servers...

Then that's just going to feed into people's "white list" narrative.

Given that their servers were having difficulties, I doubt they would trust any server data for giving out incentives. They will mostly likely look at PSN IDs that downloaded the beta.

I am actually impressed by how open and honest Combo has been with players. I think it shows how serious Capcom is about creating a great game. Leave the denial bullshit to the crappy developers that just want to phone it in.

What you think bout the mk scene moving to 60 second rounds?

The clock is slow and the offense is extremely strong, so it's true you never see time outs. I can't think of a single time out I've ever seen in a tournament match. I personally like time outs, they're tense and provide good drama. I doubt turning it to 60 would cause them to happen often. You probably still couldn't build a strategy around it but you could possibly play long enough to reach the point in the match it becomes a realistic ending, which never happens now.

I have no stakes as a tournament player anymore but I say if the community wants to try it there's no reason not to. It's post EVO so why not? There's a bunch of weeklies that could try it as an experiment.

It's that time again...

Damn that's so hard to answer, at least for Capcom fighters. I use almost every damn character since counter picking and having a ton of matchup knowledge is such a big part of my plan.

For any other game my backup character is usually the one that is that jack of all trades main character or whatever.

Guilty Gear: Sol and Ky
Blazblue: Ragna and Jin
KoF: Iori, Terry, Kyo

...etc

I usually pick these characters as an easy way out if I'm not having a good time with my mains due to bad matchups, or if I just want to turn my brain off.

On the topic about the size of normals, I wouldn't want ones like SF4, but I wouldn't want ones that are too stubby either. It's one of the reasons why KoF XIII doesn't click with me and why I enjoy 98 a bit more. The size of the normals were just right for me. SF5 feels a lot better from what I've played and seen.

On one hand, not having a PS4 means I never got a chance to try the SFV Beta and probably won't have one in time to try subsequent trials. On the other hand, even if I had a PS4, I probably would have never gotten in :P

1. Beta doesn't work.

2. I have no stick for it.

3. Ryu still hasn't hooked up with Chun.

Horseress you're a scrub. I'll bust your ass in any fighting game.

One thing about sfv which is actually neither good or bad is that the combo system is gonna be way more limited compared to 4. At least that's how it seems. Having an Roman cancel/fadc type thing really opens that kinda shit up and allows a lot of creativity.

1. Beta doesn't work. Played it for about 8 hours but yes beta has been pretty bad so far, game plays good though.

2. I have no stick for it. Has nothing to do with the game.

3. Ryu still hasn't hooked up with Chun. Go write some fanfiction or commission some fan art. Ryu is never hooking up with Chun.

Horseress you're a scrub. I'll bust your ass in any fighting game. This is true
.

Now is your chance Horseress, pick your game.

Why would Chun ever hook up with a dirty bum, it's pretty obvious that cleanliness isn't Ryu's strong suit. Ryu looks like he's been living out of an Azusa dumpster.

How in the word did you play it for 8 hours?
I played for 6, and had at least 30 matches online.

It's all about leveling up your login tech.

First I pressed the button. Then, I realized that my toe could push the button for me. Still, I had to use the bathroom. I looked at my wife, laying on the couch in her 8th month, and realized that she could push the button during my bathroom breaks. Eventually, errands had to be done. It was then that I discovered the turbo button on my new fight stick. I left it on for an hour while I got dinner, and came back logged in!

Turbo got me in 3 more times after that.

Using an arcade stick like the pros gets you to maximize your inputs without the need to cramping your hands like a rubix cube. Ten out of ten users recommend it.

Until the Beta works SFV sucks. So says the majority.

I really hope Baek makes it into Tekken 7. I want as many feint characters as possible and he's a bit better than Hwoarang who can't block when his foot his up.

I sort of use Alisa as a feint character too, but I gotta have my boy Baek.

I feel like pad is better for certain games. Tekken is weird to play with stick to me.

There was a promo video where diago showed how he held a joystick and the benefits of it. At work so I can't link but it was kind of a wineglass grip but the joystick sites between the pinkie and the ring finger. (Haven't had a chance to watch the x counter video on what gootecks says.

...whitelist?

White list

Servers had west coast bias.

I've been trying to learn stick.

Inputs are easy enough in SFIV.

Then I switch to Tekken and everything I thought I learned goes down the drain.

I played the beta for about 4 hours. I just had to be persistent and eventually I would get back on. One of the times I got disconnected from the game I got back on just with two attempts it was really weird. I played about 20-25 matches and when the connection was good it was godlike, almost like playing offline.
