Street Fighter V Beta Thread: Welcome, future '16ers! (Currently Inactive!)

So when able to play are you guys enjoying it? It would be nice to know if the game is fun or not.

I'm one of those SF4 heads on GAF. I have played the hell out of that game since Vanilla SF4 online and off. And I'm really liking SFV so far. It's still SF to me, but with a different feel. Things are more straight forward now and it's for the better.

I think newer and low level players can get into this more. It's just a easier game to play since it doesn't have as much crazy shit as SF4 and the 2f buffer will really help with hitting links. But be aware, you're still going to have to learn the timing. That 2f buffer doesn't make things free. I was still dropping combos last night. And I'm one of those training room monsters in SF4.

i'm actually relieved about this
i spent the last couple of months learning how to link moves and now it wont feel like a waste if some stuff can carry over to 5

Yeah I felt the same, I play a lot of SF4 and SFV feels very much natural, but different in a good way. Combos link slightly easier. It looks much better, hits feel meaty. I personally think it will be an amazing fighter for years to come.

I would have loved to see this game at the arcade, but lots of them shutdown. I remember going every Friday down to the mall and they'd have everything running. You had a plethora of Capcom fighters and everything else. The UI feels more like an arcade game. I like the two button combos and I realize it'll take practice learning how to combo. SFIV was out for 7-8 years before SFV. I wonder if SFV will last just as long or longer.

SFxT had the easy links, so combos were a given with a connection at times. SFV feels like it gives the player a little bit of a benefit without crossing the line.

I have hundreds of hours in SFIV and I agree.

I definitely think it will be easier for newer players to get into the game, but at the same time high level play will be there. The game is still all about fundamentals and you can really see that with Ryu. He truly is the proto-character as they mentioned in their EVO panel.

You can add experienced players who never got into the mechanics. Newer players will eat anything up. Look at how MKX went.

Question for those that actually played the Beta: How's the netcode?

I didn't pay attention to where my opponent was from until towards the end of my time playing. But most of my matches the game was lagless or had minimal lag. I had some really awful games though. I lost to one Chun Li in which it was a fucking slide show. When I did start looking at flags, all my games with Americans were good. But I played a British guy and German guy and both matches were awful.

Maybe they can iron that out, but until then it looks like we may have to continue sticking to our regions.

Nash's super has 2 parts to it:
The dash to fade into black
^This is cool
The actual damage/super is him sonic booming a buzzsaw on your head
^This I find to be...plain 'what....'

I havent tried Tropico 5. I assume it's good? >_>

Wait for games while waiting I didn't recommend Recettear, what's wrong with me.

Don't worry, already smashed that multiple times. Capitalism, ho!

I myself have just been trying to log in once in a while, don't really see the point of trying to brute force yourself in to the game.

Well I'm not doing anything else with my big toe on a PS4 pad while I play PC games.

If Capcom gives concessions to Beta players due to the difficulties, but only does it through retailers to those who haven't cancelled.....I would be so happy.

The drama'd be amazing.
