Got about 10 or 11 matches in before getting disconnected. The game plays and looks like a dream. The netcode is phenomenal. Some matches had no business being as smooth as they were. I tried to split my time between Ryu and Nash. Nash is gonna take some time to properly figure out, because he seems to be a pretty complicated character. He's amazingly fun, though. He's got some pretty insane shenanigans and set-ups from what I can tell. He's also got some insanely high damage critical art setups. Ryu feels really fresh thanks to his parry. It's active longer than a 3S parry, and it's not as easy to punish parried attacks (fast attacks anyway), but it goes along way towards making me want to pick Ryu up again. I got a lot of mileage out of stuff like cr.mk xx lk tatsu xx ex-DP or super and f.hp xx st.mp xx dp.
If / when I get back in later I want to focus a lot more on learning the new links. That 3F input buffer is a godsend so far. Execution on some of the tighter-feeling links already feels much more forgiving, and that's without even double-tapping.
SF5 is shaping up to be really special. I'm overjoyed. Specific gameplay stuff aside, the art style, the lighting, the visual effects, and especially the really bassy meat-y sounding effects, the game speed, and the renewed focus on aggression is giving me the warm fuzzies.
