You know what's sadder than people complaining/feeling disappointed for this completely broken online infrastructure/beta? Corporate apologist mofos telling them how they should and shouldn't feel because this is a beta. The fuck outta here, sons.
Joke aside some people in the thread are really pretending like that was the plan. People should understand that this is not par for the course for networking tests. Capcom is not new to online gaming either.I think my version of the Street Fighter V Start Screen/Press any button Beta is broken, Sometimes ill get this strange fighting game to pop up, weird.
hope they extend the Beta a few days once its fixed and I can get back to Pressing any Button.Obviously a joke

You seem to be totally ignorant to what the point of a beta is. Betas exist so things like this happen and get fixed before the game releases. You know what's sadder than people complaining/feeling disappointed for this completely broken online infrastructure/beta? I'd just love some offline training mode with the dummy for a few days.
But they said the purpose of the beta was to test the netcode. The beta defense here is more ridiculous than the complaining. You know that people got this to play the game, if it was just testing the net code no one would've pre-ordered for it.
don't tell that to anyone who digitally preordered on psn
uh oh, gonna catch some heat for that one lolYou know what's sadder than people complaining/feeling disappointed for this completely broken online infrastructure/beta? Corporate apologist mofos telling them how they should and shouldn't feel because this is a beta. The fuck outta here, sons.
All we need is Infiltration to start streaming again.this thread is more entertaining than the beta can ever be

Oh good, we've reached the "anyone who disagrees with me is a corporate apologist" stage. Took longer than I thought.
In other words, no, the beta isn't doing its primary function, yet. Capcom is not getting the information that they were seeking. Are they getting other information that could be useful? Sure, but lets not act like assholes just because the flip side is people acting entitled. It's a F up on Capcom's part, no doubt about it. It just shouldn't be that serious (for anyone), because it's free.
Pretty much the same thing. If you were playing the game, you are "testing" the netcodeBut they said the purpose of the beta was to test the netcode.
People have pointed out that they never said the point of the beta was to make sure the servers would stay up with everyone trying to log on, and I think that's a fair point. But they definitely explicitly stated it was to test netcode, not so people would have tons of fun.

I know what that word means and have participated in over a ton of betas within the last 10 years. I'm just saying that people feeling disappointed for a completely broken online infrastructure is normal. Even in beta phase. You can have a completely broken beta and still feel disappointment. I'm just saying, don't tell people what they should feel and shouldn't feel. No one expects this to work perfectly or at all for the first couple of days, but still feeling disappointment that it's not working is normal.I don't think you know what that word means.
Never thought about that way lolI kinda hope that the people who are throwing a fit about this cancel their preorders, since I get the feeling that they'd be the ones most likely to rage quit online once the game actually came out.

The only people who should get the fuck out of here are people like you who think that a beta is supposed to work 100% of the time. It just shows that you have no fucking idea what you're talking about. The people defending Capcom aren't corporate apologists, they're realists who understand what they signed up for.
No that happened far back.
Hey I get it. I'm frustrated too. Woke up and wanted to fuck with some Birdie. But they'll sort it out, and if not, this is one of three betas. I'm more concerned as to the actual issues than if I get to play.
Yeah, there are definitely way more cogs to the machine behind the scenes that we don't see up front. This game is using a whole new online infrastructure. We heard about it just the other day. SF4 used a basic matchmaking system with some stats tracking. This game is more like StarCraft 2/LoL/DOTA/etc. Capcom doesn't know what the hell they are doing, big surprise. This is how they learn.
We (and Capcom) was talking about netcode not logging on the serverThe matchmaking server was tested and it clearly has bugged. Was a good test.
I don't think people are saying "don't be disappointed". I think people are saying "you shouldn't be surprised" or "you shouldn't be this mad".I know what that word means and have participated in over a ton of betas within the last 10 years. I hate to break it to you, but even if the beta comes back online sometime today Birdie won't be there unless Capcom said otherwise overnight. Cammy and Birdie are supposed to be added tomorrow. No that happened far back.

Yeah, because there was a problem, they figured out there was a problem, and they took down the servers to try and fix said problem. That's exactly what a beta is for.His accusations about corporate apologists are wrong but the Beta version should at least let you play a match. Every time I boot the beta, I either get stuck on the title screen or I get error message "unable to connect to server".
Lol you absolute mooks.
Mooks and Honks.

I mean let's be real here.
If Capcom actually gave a shit about testing the servers to their maximum potential they would have opened the floodgates to everyone, not just pre-order buyers.
They just want yo money.
Well yes that much is true. Granted this may be one of those since it's a preorder incentive that probably has super polished gameplay with minimal glitches.I more so see people glad that a problem like this was caught in the beta then straight up acting that it was the intended course of action.
I'm in that group. Does it suck? Yea, it does. I bought a damn PS4 arcade stick for the beta.
But I do think that glorified demo's masquerading as beta's in recent memory have warped the perception of many people as to what to expect from a beta in terms of issues.
And yes, I've played quite a few alpha's/beta's too, ranging from polished project's to unable to get past CTD's on boot.
I agree, and I still think feeling disappointed over a broken beta is perfectly normal. Forget the entitlement cause we ain't entitled to shit lol. There's a difference between frustration and entitlement. You have every right to feel either, I just think the latter is unwarranted.

A demo is a chunk of a game that you get to play as a preview. What does demo have to do with anything? I think yall are getting caught up in the words. I bet money come release people will already be talking of "I expect network problems too many people are gonna log on at once release day." It happens, yeah but dont just say its a beta as excuse for not working. Beta is for testing yeah but also means the game is in a playable state.
