Street Fighter V Beta Thread: Welcome, future '16ers! (Currently Inactive!)

I am glad a fuck that this happened today, because my stick comes in tomorrow and it will be working tomorrow and we will get an extra day for this so it is all good to me.

I don't think we'll get an extra day for 2 hours (so far) of connection hiccups. For what we know, they may have been fully expecting this, which is why it's 5 days to begin with. It isn't a paid service, so the only real reason that we may is if they want that extra data to test.

Yea I think they fully expected a stress test which is why this beta was so late in the day. Everyone is home and they knew people were going to jump on.

makes sense

I think people are disappointed it buckled so hard, though.

it's a good thing in the long run obviously, but hype becomes salt so easily

Thinking of calling it a day almost. Been 2 hours and no training mode/stage in sight...it has been a disappointment, even for a stress test Beta. But better now than at launch which will most certainly have it's own share of online/server problems.

Agreed, and seeing as they had that little server reset, I'm thinking all is going according to
their
plan.

Capcom has had plenty of experience with maintaining an online infrastructure... So it looks bad on them that no one can play right now.

No, it doesn't. It looks like they are testing a brand new online infrastructure they created for SFV. This is a beta purely to discover these kinds of issues and resolve them. You guys need to dial it back a bit.

Nah. Compare this to any MMO ever and the 'experience' the parent company demonstrates every time a high profile xpac or patch goes live. There are far more failures than successes out there when it comes to big online rollouts for a service.

I wasn't expecting the beta to work immediately - especially since the entire point was to stress test the servers. I'm surprised people are already salty at Capcom for it, it's just a beta and not the full game. Give them a break, you aren't paying anything for this.
