Ooof, I feel for my EU brethren with that start time. I hope the beta will be off to a smooth start for all of our sakes lol.

And remember, mashing SHORYUKEN is a legitimate fighting strategy. Don't let these elite snobs tell you otherwise.

Yeah this is a great jumping on point for new SF players. It always is when a new game comes around, and everyone is learning it for the first time. Believe it or not, you may even have an advantage by not having muscle memory or habits from SFIV carrying over into SFV. The hardcore community loves new players as well, not because they get easy wins but more people are playing the game and that's healthy for it's future, especially when those people stick with it and get better.

Don't be scared, fighting games aren't as intimidating as they may seem, and SFV makes a lot of very smart changes to ensure that. There will always be a ton of people to help you here if you have questions as well.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I dabbled a bit in SF4, but never really sat down and committed to it. I'm looking forward to doing that this time around.

I'll be there later tonight, playing for 2 minutes before I realise I can't play on pad and I'm sick of seeing everybody only playing Ryu.

Gonna have to make do with my HRAP4 Hayabusa.
Saved a couple of bucks, but having no touchpad button is kinda annoying.

After playing USF4 so much online, I'd be lying if I said I'm looking forward to yet another Ryu brigade.

Ryu is the best character to get a feel for the new engine. After I get a feel for it, I'll try all the other characters.
