First Forza Motorsport 6 Direct Feed at 60 fps(Gamersyde)

The Xbox One is perfectly capable of GPGPU compute but it's in less need of it as the CPU is stronger as is and more of the CPU is available to game developers.

You know that the CPU difference is marginal, right? If a game is CPU starved on the PS4, it will suffer the exact same fate on the Xbox One. I digress, but your post is so out of field...

Annyway, the game looks good and Turn 10 should be commanded on its remarkable efficiency in churning out great racing games...

Sitting here watching the thread, playing Fallout Shelter and buying cars in Forza 5... lol

If anyone would like to play some Forza 5/Horizon 2 and chat about Forza 6 my gamertag is FordGTGuy...

You know most sim racers are CPU intensive games right?

Metro Redux suffers from tearing.

Fifa, as I posted, drops to half the framerate in certain modes.

GPGPU can also take away power that could otherwise be used for graphical purposes.

I'm not sure you what or how much you know about gpu computing but there really should never be a scenario where what is being rendered suffers because of it

If GPGPU was free... every game would utilize it.

Why was Unity constricted more on PS4 than Xbox One because of the CPU if this were true?

Forza 5 also drops to 30 before race start. That doesn't count?

I don't usually say this type of stuff, but honestly you're making a lot of threads hard to read. It's frustrating trying to read threads on my most anticipated game this year and having needless comments and arguments thrown in.

Click on his name. Then click ignore. Poof another troll disappears.

Watched this a second time and I'm loving it. The lighting in Rio looks great, especially through the coloured flags.

Has rain at night been confirmed or denied?

Use the ignore list. It makes a lot of gaf more bearable. Somewhat worrying that a lot of this thread is hidden though...

They really need to rework their graphics engine. Everything else looks great though, and performance will be rock solid as usual.

The Brands Hatch rain atmosphere is captured perfectly! Goddamn, I need this game now. Can't wait rip up the GT on Nordschleife in the rain.

Yeah I want this so badly. This + the Elite X1 controller is going to be bliss!

You're in for a real treat. Despite being a launch game, 5 was fantastic, 6 should be double the fun.

So stoked to see their 2nd effort this gen.

I need to re-download this and give it another shot. I didnt play it enough, but enjoyed Horizon 2 more. But everyone on here praises 5. So I think I'll go DL it again.

I don't know if there's something wrong with my eyes but am I the only one who doesn't see the graphics that impressive? the rain effect and the surrounding environment doesn't look that impressive at all but I think this is the cost of 60fps.

The more you watch it the more impressive.

People should feel lucky that they are getting a package like FM6. Come on! Stop the hate, no real racing genre fan would be nitpicking @ bullshit like some people in here. It's ridiculous. Consider everything that FM 6 is bringing to the table.

Buy the game, enjoy the game, T10 delivers quality work, unmatched in console and dare I say even PC standards in the genre. Overall polished quality on all fronts. Un fucking touched, un matched.

Thanks for all the hard work T10, you deliver iron clad experiences through and through.

You are the leaders of this genre, people get pushed to do more because of your efforts, otherwise we'd be in a market fueled by mediocrity.

FM 6 + Elite controller = happy fucking fall/winter.

Consider everything that FM 6 is bringing to the table.
450 autovista quality cars (I love this feature BTW) and 100 ribbons in 26 environments. Hells yes. This looks like the game that so many players wished Forza 5 would be. Limited support for night and the wet are a bonus.

I hope they drill deep into the game's options though - would really like to have the ability to set higher lap counts for career races.

The Best racing game series in the business is back!

F5's lack of content never got much love from me.

It was an unfortunate side effect of the jump to next gen. They made claims that they wanted F5 to feel like a full blown Forza Sequel but they also wanted to go and do stuff like rebuild all the models they could for the new hardware. They deserve praise for this as the cars looked phenomenal, but it led to a much smaller number of them being in the game, among other things.

Forza 6 was always going to be where they really stretched their legs.

What are these ribbons people are mentioning?

From the context it either sounds like a new word for "track variations within an environment" or the title rewards thing from Forza 4.

There are environments, tracks and ribbons.

Nurburgring is an environment, Nordschleife is a track and the Behemoth is a ribbon of that track.

Most of the time an environment and track can be be the same thing.

A ribbon is basically a version of that track.

The reason for this clarification is because some tracks share the same environment.

Nordschleife and the F1 Circuit are separate track with their own ribbons but they are from the same environment.

ForzaCentral's car and track list might be easier to visualize it.

So F1 sprint and F1 GP are ribbons, but F1 itself as a generic term is a track? Makes sense. Having 100 over 26 environments is crazy, that's almost 4 average for each, I can't even imagine enough variations for that.

Yeah.

Technically Nurburgring is an environment, a track and a ribbon.

The Behemoth is a ribbon of the track Nurburgring in the environment of Nurburgring.

F1 GP Circuit is a track and a ribbon that is in the environment of Nurburgring.

F1 GP Sprint is a ribbon of the track F1 GP Circuit in the environment of Nurburgring.

This means that just because there are five unknown environments doesn't mean that there are only five more tracks.

In forza 3 a bunch of the original design courses had 2 to 4 ribbons each, nissan speedway for example had the loop and the inside track and then a shorter version of the inside track.

Suzuka had front half, back half, full.

Sidewinder, a test track in forza 3 had 8 ribbons because it was a huge clump of different corners a few miles long which could easily be cut up, sadly it was also one of the most boring tracks in the game.

Montserrat is a great example of this.

Environment: Montserrat

Track: Camino Viejo de Montserrat

Ribbons:
  • Camino Viejo de Montserrat Full Circuit
  • Camino Viejo de Montserrat Full Circuit Reverse
  • Camino Viejo de Montserrat Short Circuit
  • Camino Viejo de Montserrat Short Circuit Reverse
  • Camino Viejo de Montserrat Mini Circuit
  • Camino Viejo de Montserrat Mini Circuit Reverse
  • Camino Viejo de Montserrat Extreme Circuit
  • Camino Viejo de Montserrat Extreme Circuit Reverse

Track: Iberian International Circuit

Ribbons:
  • Iberian International Circuit Full Circuit
  • Iberian International Circuit Full Circuit Reverse
  • Iberian International Circuit Short Circuit
  • Iberian International Circuit Short Circuit Reverse
  • Iberian International Circuit Mini Circuit
  • Iberian International Circuit Mini Circuit Reverse

Track: Ladera Test Track

Ribbons:
  • Ladera Test Track Full Circuit
  • Ladera Test Track Full Circuit Reverse
  • Ladera Test Track Short Circuit
  • Ladera Test Track Short Circuit Reverse
  • Ladera Test Track Mini Circuit
  • Ladera Test Track Mini Circuit Reverse

You could almost even consider the Extreme Circuit as its own track as it is a combination of all three tracks.

Yeah.

Technically Nurburgring is an environment, a track and a ribbon.

The Behemoth is a ribbon of the track Nurburgring in the environment of Nurburgring.

F1 GP Circuit is a track and a ribbon that is in the environment of Nurburgring.

Thanks for the explanations. Speaking of tracks, I really hope Maple Valley is back.

Also, I can't remember any tracks that were in previous games but aren't confirmed for FM6 yet, do we have a list?

Yeah I was looking at that, but I meant tracks that were in Forza games, but not confirmed, that everyone is hoping for, like how Maple Valley was gone from FM5.

  • Fujimi Kaido
  • Rally di Positano
  • Montserrat
  • New York Full(From Forza 1)
  • Tokyo Circuit
  • Shipyards P2P
  • Maple Valley

Off the top of my head.

Here are the car and track lists for the older games.

Oh man, Rally Positano and Shipyards would be amazing, Positano in the rain and Shipyards at night. I hope Shipyards comes back like Rio as a part of this 10 year celebration.

It's very beatable. Especially when you're someone that values what 60fps adds to the experience. And yes, framerate is a component of looks. I also prefer the environments I saw in that video.

I agree with Conduit, though. You know you're doing something right when Slightly Mad Studios is trying to emulate your weather effects. But Forza 6 definitely stepped it up from Forza 5. It looks fantastic, but I still prefer Driveclub's IQ and weather effects.

Off topic: Having seen Gsync in action, really wish Freesync would come to consoles via AMD

http://www.dsogaming.com/videotrail...ain-effects-come-close-to-those-of-driveclub/
Project cars not quite there yet.

I think the last five would be great if they were Fujimi Kaido, Rally Di Positano, Suzuka Circuit, Tsukuba Circuit and Motegi Circuit.

That would be a pretty good mix of American, Asian and European track locations.

DLC we could get Circuit of the Americas, re-imagination of New York full and Virginia International Raceway. :D

Looks to be in pretty good shape. It does however look "cartoony" at times. Can't really put my finger on it.
