First Forza Motorsport 6 Direct Feed at 60 fps(Gamersyde)

Are you kidding?
The shortcomings to reach 1080p/60 are pretty apparent and it still has the 'baked' look from Forza 5.
Also, weather and TOD options being limited to certain tracks and being completely static is kind of behind the curve at this point. The competition already has it beat.

So yeah, your quote:

Is pretty hyperbolic in that context.

But what other console racing game maintains a locked 1080/60?

To the guys complaining about comparisons being made and other games/consoles being brought up in this thread, where do you think posts like these one here lead?... it's basically an invitation to do so.

What's wrong with praising a game, hyperbole or not, when the topic is intended for that game? If you think that simple praise is "bait" when people are coming into the thread just to shit on it, I'm fairly certain it's not me in the wrong.

It's a perfectly reasonable statement to make, he even defines what he meant by technical marvel. If someone wants to misinterpret that and be very defensive about it, that's on them.

Looks great. T10 just needs to use PBR to try and get rid of the "game-y" look, but it definitely looks cleaner and better than FM5.

And T10 is slapping the other sim devs around when it comes to performance. To hell with frames dropping below 60 and screen tearing in sim racers. Correct decision, T10.

Looks terrific. First race will have to be Nordschleife in the rain with the Huayra. Also has it been known if the new Koenigsegg Regera will be in this?

Awesome, what are Rivals events all about?

Any races you do will throw your best times/sections along with tags for which assists you're using and whether it was a dirty lap, but they have a rotating set of weekly/monthly/theme events that throw out challenges with set conditions and cars. It populates to your friends list and your friends-friends that are closest to you in performance. It's just fun because you have a little inbox showing who's taking part and who's beaten who when you're playing.

Time trials against leaderboard ghosts - very addicting. And I love how you can watch a replay of any time set, shift views, go into photo-mode and determine a lot about a car's setup and some of its tuning just from swooping around and examining it on the track - how low it sits, the angle of the tires etc. Forza puts the work in and it shows, even in the small details.

Just checked it out.

You're right, they managed a solid 60 at 1080p on the PS4 version.

Props to Kojima.

That makes the final count 3. Forza 5, Forza 6 and Ground Zero(Only on PS4).

You shouldn't include 6 because it's not out. They have a solid track record, but you should never take anything at 100% face value.

Some people claiming this looks exactly like Forza 5.. LOL. This looks so much better it isn't even funny. Clearly improved AA, definitely improved lighting, better texture detail from what I can notice, better looking crowds, even better rain effects than Forza Horizon 2, and the overall environmental detail looks better to me also compared to Forza 5. Vegetation also looks like it received a real nice improvement over Forza 5 from what I can see.

Alright, although we know it well be... we will only count Forza 5 for now.

Except when it's 30, you mean. Or did you miss the video I linked earlier?

Anyhoo, back on topic, looks great, I'm very impressed with how good it looks, if they can improve the way the rain looks when you're in the car it'll be even better.

Yeah, looks much better than 5 (or at least it does to me).

You're losing focus here. As far as racing games go, there just isn't anything out there that runs at 1080p / solid 60 fps on X1. Let alone at this level of graphics + 24 cars on track + weather.

Yes?

Love the puddles and aquaplaning, and super impressive to have that many vehicles at 60fps.

Is it just me or are the colours way over saturated though? It almost looks like a Sega arcade game at times.

Different Xbox thread, same old tiring graphical e-peen being hurt.

I guess I could have just forgotten, but I clearly don't remember Xbox fans going into each PS3 thread and saying 360 has better graphics.

The Video's for this game make it look pretty good. I was however bored by Forza 5. Hoping the career path in 6 is more engaging.

Looks like a nice improvement over FM5. The aquaplaning looks awesome glad to see that a racing game finally does more with wet asphalt than just decrease grip with %15.

Quite an achievement of Turn10 to achieve these graphics and physics at 1080/60 locked.

Post patch PCars on PS4 is pretty much a locked 60fps, even with a 30 grid line up, decent AA, dynamic weather and dynamic time of day. I'm sure post patch it's better on the Xbox One too. It does have some mild tearing though. Having said that, I don't know why that all matters in a Forza 6 thread?

Have DF done a frame analysis of F6? Presumably it's a locked 60fps as per usual?

Well, i'm pretty sure that i didn't say anything wrong. But whatever. Ridicule me. :D

Play the victim role. You quite clearly know what you are trying to do. Who cares if DC looks better, because it doesn't handle no where near as good as Forza, plus considering DC is a closed circuit racer it is only 30fps, which isn't anything to boast about on the current generation of consoles, just think about that for a second :)

Project Cars issues go way beyond frame rate. The game was not done, and should have been delayed even further.

NBA 2K? Fifa?

Meanwhile, both the PS4 and Xbox One handle in-game playback perfectly; if it's in default view, the 60fps line is held to a tee. However, the Xbox One does occasionally suffer from drops to 25fps during match build-ups locked at half rate, noticed when panning past each team's line-up. It's unusual - and doesn't affect gameplay - but by comparison the PS4 never misses a beat here, whether it's running at a 30 or 60fps cap.

Digital Foundry didn't do a NBA 2k15 analysis but I've found people commenting on framerate drops.

I don't really count sports games anyway, they are most always yearly franchises and they are always in tight quarters with nothing unexpected.

At least racing games will have huge tracks like Nurburgring and can go from one car to 24 at a moments notice.

Gamersyde noted that it still suffers badly from tearing.

When i said something the opposite, they call me a troll. Whatever. Sorry man, but PCARS with 20+ cars with rain is pretty stable 60 on PS4.

PD really achieved amazing things on last-gen. You underestimate GPGPU and fine grain compute on PS4 which is the lack of on Xbone.

Yes, i did. So? You corrected me then. Thank you for that.

Did I just enter a PS4 thread? What the heck. lol

Didn't you know? GPGPU is the new cloud, devs just need to flick a switch and their game is instantly compatible with it. No need to learn or rework anything at all. Only possible on the supercharged PC architecture of the PS4, powered by Mark Cerny tub tech.

What is Forza 6 then?
It also has from point to point tracks. Anyway, in DC lightning, GI, wheather effects are the best around in racing genre for now.

Can you not read, my point is on this generation of consoles closed circuit racers, should be 60fps, which Forza is.
Signing off this thread now cba arguing with a fanboy who only entered this thread to wind others up.

Are you seriously arguing graphics and using a 30fps game to do so?

You clearly have no intention of buying Forza, and think it does not look good, why are you still going in this thread?

Yes and? What is the purpose of this comparison other than to feed your insecurities and to make yourself feel better about your choice of console. If you haven't noticed, this is an Xbox One thread. Not PS4. Leave.

Exclusives can really bring out the worst in people.

Anyway, downloading the footage now. I have it preordered but I probably should wait since I still have Forza 5 Racer of the year edition still in shrink wrap. I wonder how much of an improvement this is besides weather and night racing

Is there a wheel that will work for both the Xbox and ps4? Would like to buy one wheel since my csr elite won't work.
Only one I know if is the Fanatec ClubSport Wheelbase V2 with the Xbox One Universal Hub. Will set you back $1000. I was really hoping Fanatec would announce a new wheel in the Porsche line that would be compatible with both, similar to the GT2 or my old Turbo S. I'd gladly grab a new wheel for $250-300 without the swappable wheel bits. Gonna be an expensive end of year for me if I decide to go all in for FM6 since I don't even have an XB1 yet. Maybe they'll announce something at Gamescom since they're a German company...
