And yet it still looks better
Because GT games always raise the bar at release, and they are working on the beefier specced console so chances that it'll be impressive are very good. Maybe they'll fall flat on their face but historically speaking that hasn't happened. Why would that be a caveat? I mean...there's nothing known about GT7.
I say it's announced to released in 1-2 years but doesn't release till later.
Looks great but a bit cartoony. Reminds me of Outrun.
Well i hope you ain't no Nostradamus either![]()
It really kinda is.
Is pretty hyperbolic in that context. This game will definitely be the technical marvel for a good few years.
Are you kidding?
The shortcomings to reach 1080p/60 are pretty apparent and it still has the 'baked' look from Forza 5.
Also, weather and TOD options being limited to certain tracks and being completely static is kind of behind the curve at this point. The competition already has it beat.
So yeah, your quote:

Where?
pCARS is the only thing close to beating it and it runs at either 1080p with unstable 60 on PS4
I have a feeling that Polyphony will try to be too ambitious again and fail to reach a locked 60fps like GT5 and 6, so I won't count that until we get confirmation of its performance.
You really seam to have it out for this game. After posting that 2 year old bull shit about Forza 5 running on a pc in here I thought you would have taken a step back, but you seem to just keep digging in.
Jesus Christ almighty this looks amazing.
I'm REALLY sorry to be that guy, but the XBone is going to its third Forza game and GT for the PS4 hasn't even been announced yet, wtf are these guys doing?
You underestimate GPGPU and fine grain compute on PS4 which is the lack of on Xbone.
Are the 3D puddles exactly the same each time you race on a given track? I guess they would be considering its the same amount of rainfall pooling up in the same lower places - but after a few laps you'll know the locations of the puddles and it'll lose some of the novelty and danger.
When i said something the opposite, they call me a troll. Whatever. Sorry man, but PCARS with 20+ cars with rain is pretty stable 60 on PS4.
PD really achieved amazing things on last-gen. You underestimate GPGPU and fine grain compute on PS4 which is the lack of on Xbone.

Wow. You show up in every Xbox related thread to share your two cents. Been busy today eh.
I mean, good for you if you think Pcars looks "better" than FM6. To some people it just doesn't. It's not like "looking better" is a fact, look is not performance.
I don't know of any 30fps challengers to the true sim title. 60fps is still the expectation for good reason, and will be the case in FM6.We've come so far since the days of locked 60FPS means everything and it isn't a true sim if you aren't. I wonder what changed...
Even small variations to the size/volume would add a level of dynamism between runs that would keep you on your toes with each lap. While I love what Turn 10 is doing here making these realistic hazards I just think it could lose its luster a little quickly being in the exact same spots in the exact same sizes - but hell, that variation is at least something to mix up the conditions. The puddles happen where they do because of the geography of the track, so it wouldn't make sense for them to move around. The goal is more or less to learn them, so when there's wet weather, you know where you'll need to divert from your racing line compared to a dry day.
I think you forget though some of the features other titles have over this. This isn't at the top end graphically, it just isn't doing everything other titles are. It's very beatable. Especially when you're someone that values what 60fps adds to the experience. And yes, framerate is a component of looks. I also prefer the environments I saw in that video.
From graphical standpoint just isn't. DC is unbeatable.
Its a fact
This will be my first mainline Forza game, quite excited to see what it's all about.
The Xbox One is perfectly capable of GPGPU compute but it's in less need of it as the CPU is stronger as is and more of the CPU is available to game developers.
This game will definitely be the technical marvel for a good few years. Having all of that go on at 1080p60 is amazing.
Dude, I'll see you in the Rivals events. They're pretty fun. Chances are M0dus will be making some liveries for NeoGAF people, if you'er into that.
You kidding me, right? So, according to your theory, Xbone's CPU's 150 Mhz ( which is, meaningless ) more clock is equivalent to 50% more GPGPU capabilities on PS4. Good.
Awesome, what are Rivals events all about?
I don't know if I'll be grabbing it day 1, depends on how crazy fall gets with all the other games. Hopefully I won't be too LTTP though
So, do we know if night/day, wet/dry is available for all the tracks in the game, or some of the conditions and night races are only available on certain tracks? I hope it's for all the tracks, cause if not, it will be a huge let down for me.
I'm surprised he has managed to fly under radar so long... It's blatant
Looks very nice but not as mind blowing as I had hoped, the lighting has a bit of that video-gamey look that I noticed in Forza Horizon as well, and some of those trees don't look great.
Still, the cars look great and image quality seems pretty clean, considering all it's doing at 1080/60 I'm fine with those tradeoffs. This will be my first mainline Forza game, quite excited to see what it's all about.
Looks great but a bit cartoony. Reminds me of Outrun.
What was so inflammatory about my posts in this thread that you felt the need to post this?
I'm just disagreeing with the notion that this game is somehow setting new standards of technical excellence or something like that.
Don't you think that's a bit hyperbolic?
Time trials against leaderboard ghosts - very addicting. And I love how you can watch a replay of any time set, shift views, go into photo-mode and determine a lot about a car's setup and some of its tuning just from swooping around and examining it on the track - how low it sits, the angle of the tires etc. Forza puts the work in and it shows, even in the small details.Awesome, what are Rivals events all about?
.Driveclub also has half the cars on track, a way longer dev time and runs at half the framerate.
Not to mention running on better hardware.
That's not even adding the fact that Forza's physics engine is doing way more than Driveclub.
Rivals events are community events where you try to set the top time on the track/beat your friends.Awesome, what are Rivals events all about?

The Xbox One was a smaller CPU reserve than the PS4, in fact an almost entire CPU core is open to devs on Xbox One over PS4.
Just from a pure aesthetic standpoint, the colors are a bit oversaturated and the lighting a bit bright for me. That takes away a bit of the photorealism.
