Forza Motorsport 6 has "wet weather, 3D puddles and night races" + more

Did somebody mention music?

tumblr_inline_mpme5eEIHX1qz4rgp.gif

All the music you need is the roar of the engines and the sound of tires screeching as you slam your opponents into tire barriers.

Played it last night. The weather is definitely the real deal. And the frame rate was solid as a rock. Completely changed the game

Played with the hurrican at Sebring at night, full sim everything, assists off. Fucking terrifying.

serious question. How much money would I have to spend to have this set up?

And another thing looking at the Forza scoreboard I'm currently sitting at #8 while SarBear is.......26

Comparing Forza 5 I'm level 537 to his 216.........so who would be holding the team back in reality?

Might have to change your name to SadBear

So....2 lap race with Corvette ZR1 at Sebring with you a half lap head start?

Winner take bragging rights? :-)

If multiscreen is supported in the retail build, you'll need: 3 TVs, 3 Xbox Ones, 3 copies of the game, 3 ports free on your router, a steering wheel and pedals. Add in more if you want a fancy seat.

I think it was confirmed that it's not available for retail. They're using devkits.

Btw. Did you see that the 991 Porsches and the 918 Spyder don't have active rear-wheel steering modeled in FH2?
I bet that's also why it was absolutely impossible for me in FM5 to match the stig's top gear test track power lap time in the Nissan GT-R (that and I doubt Forza models variable split center differentials and torque vectoring).

Yeah, it was pretty disappointing to see that the Cayman GTS in Horizon 2 didn't have the Sports Exhaust, even though it comes standard on the car. Makes it sound so tame compared to the real thing. :/

Forza usually has really good sound samples and mixing, which is why it was extra odd.

Compare them for yourself and see:

But Pulse is so good!

I think you mean Bass Arena. ;)

From now on, any GIFs made from Gamersyde videos that I make will include their logo.

Love the way the tyres all collapse when he slams in to them as well. Though I do think the red AI car ahead got away a bit too lightly. Funny seeing him spin out a bit though.

I didn't like the music either, but can appreciate what they were going for with dynamic music. It paired with the long load times just almost put me to sleep between races.

Speaking of load times, has it been said anywhere that 6 addresses that?

Ugh, still no qualifying, question was asked during IGN interview.

I don't get why they don't at least allow us the option of qualifying, it's a fundenmental part of motorsport, but I understand some don't like it, but the option would be nice.

Well there are warm-up laps now.. so hopefully they are becoming more comfortable with the idea?

Any word on the length of races (excluding the endurance races) this time round?

If there is no qualifying this is important.

Anyone want to take any stabs on the moments of history races we'll see?

It's not surprising we would see 1966 and 1967 LeMans with the GT-40 MK II and MKIV.

I'm also hoping the DLC packs will include rivals for more of these kinds of events.

Do you think they will take a stab at our wallets again with the Porsche cars or will it be part of the Car Pass or a free update?

Peter Brock's 1984 Bathurst victory.

Yes, that's right. Turn 10 will finally pay homage to the legend himself in FM6.

I have no problem buying 2 more consoles and 2 more copies of the game. I have a full cockpit that I triple screen with pc games and forza 4, I'd love it in fh2 and now this!

Main menus look amazing, so happy to see V8 Supercars in too. Dan did mention 'touring cars' in general, so would be great to see BTCC/WTCC cars make the cut too, they're so much fun to drive.

Can't wait to play FM6 on my special pro controller ;)

Thrustmaster TX with TM Leather 28 wheel for those wondering.

used to love the forza franchise, but i moved on to iracing and VR for racing games. i dont know if i should buy the fanatec xbox one hub or not just to give it a try.
just want to play it with a wheel to see where they are today, regarding physics.

For me, I would compare Forza very loosely to Assetto Corsa. The game really gives you a great feeling of how a car feels to drive, rather than making it unnecessarily difficult.
(I don't understand the concept of a racing game only qualifying as a 'sim' if it's hard to keep a car on the road. It's not like that in real life at all.)

i ve played all forzas up to the last and loved them, but quit since they killed custom public lobbies (again). the singleplayer became stupid with fm3, when they started to add ridiculous amounts of repetitive short races without any effort just to give folks some food for the list wars (against GT). so it was never the physics which killed it for me, but the combination of non sense SP with casual MP. the only thing you could do there was rivals.
fm2 had a way better SP with its different leagues (especially endurance) which was at least trying a bit to pretend you re stepping up in some kind of career.

as said, always liked fm but moved on. lets see if they add something to it, that makes me want to come back. that wont be the MP part for sure, as thats what i got iracing for. its the other players and race length, which is making that game so hard; not just the physics. (but thats off topic and not my intention to talk about)

I know what you mean. I think Forza 2 had a great structure. I got most of my enjoyment in FM3 and FM4 from the event list where I could choose exactly what kind of races to do. Forza 6 would be great if we could choose the length of the races ourselves too, especially when Forza 5 was strictly limited to 2-3 lap races on most occasions. It became repetitive very quickly.

Perfectly summarises how I feel about the series as well. Since FM2 the career mode has been dumbed down which culminated with the abomination that was FM5's career mode. The career modes have catered more and more towards casual racing fans with each iteration, which is a shame considering the great physics engine under the hood and variety of cars available.

If the bulk of FM6's career mode is short 2 lap races where you have to blast your way to the front 3 places then I'm out until I can get the game in a sale or something. It's like they are purposefully ignoring the fans who got the series off the mark in the 1st place when there is no need to.

All they have to do is look at Project Car's career mode to see how you can structure it in a way whereby everyone can tailor it to suit themselves, therefore not alienating either the hardcore or the more casual fan groups.

I mean, how hard is it to add options for things like qualifying, tire wear, fuel use and race lengths at the start of each race in the same way you would AI difficulty, damage and assists?

It's just really disappointing considering I bought my xbox one just for this franchise.

Thrustmaster TX with TM Leather 28 wheel for those wondering.

Makes me sad looking at this pic.

I have a G25 and a Fanatec PWTS. I'm 95% certain of buying Forza 6 and Xbox One
this September but I'm pretty certain of buying a PS4 and GT7 so unless one of these wheel manufactures can make a XBO/PS4/PC wheel I'm being forced to get a XBO/PC or PS4/PC wheel or just don't bother and stick with my old wheels for PC driving sims and treat the consoles games as screenshot apps and trying to fumble around with the joypads.

What a fucked up situation.

disclaimer, I know about Fanatec's millionaire solution

Some days I think I won't even bother getting the XBO. On PS4 you have Uncharted, TLOU remaster and Last Guardian. On XBO I don't see anything except Forza sadly. With a wheel I'd gladly buy the XBO just for Forza though.

If Forza could come to PC it would solve all my issues and I could potentially buy just one wheel for all the games.

Dan confirms both BTCC and WTCC on this video.

It's a shame about qualifying still. Maybe we will get random starts, it would be nice to not have to spend three laps tapping your way to third.

He also mentions something about the drivatars being more professional. Also the AI will finally slide through corners, no more perfectly straight in and out. Hopefully this will mean they're quicker in the corners finally.

Oh damn, that's great! Thanks!

I agree, qualifying would be really nice, haven't had it since FM2.

Regarding drivatars, yeah. I heard in another interview that they've been updated to push the tyres more through the corners and reach the boundaries of grip. Even on the hardest difficulty in FM5 the oppenents have huge weak spots, but I noticed in particular that their cars were just faster in a straight line.

Their biggest failing was slowing down for corners when players wouldn't even think of braking.

As a Filthy Forza Casual (11,600 Rewards points still though), I can tell you career mode don't appeal to Casuals now.

Forza 3's Calendar Structure was fine, but each race in an Event Group felt on its own as it didn't track points for placing...even Mario Kart does that! Stop with the silly Gold each Race and do Gold for the Event group instead!

Forza 4's World Tour was hot garbage because each race was from a different Event Group, making the whole thing disjointed.

Forza 5's Event List was them not even trying at all, which was a letdown.

Forza 6's Career Mode better atleast appeal to you guy's by having options or atleast me which wants something interesting and not just races on a plate.

Yep. It's a case of 'take your pick'.

And Turn 10, don't think I have forgotten this

Muscle Car stables is proud to announce our joint collaboration with Turn 10 Studios (Microsoft) and its staff members. We look forward in continuing our efforts to help Turn 10 connect the bridge between gamers and the automotive industry for the Microsoft XBOX One console!

That Facebook post has been deleted. But I'm onto you Turn 10. Like a hawk I am.
I know you have something lined up for us Aussies.

Mmm.. interesting! PM sent.

WTF just happened? I accidentally pressed a few buttons and apparently I'm now the proud owner of a German XBone for 170 English clams. I hate the frikkin' Xbone! WTF! Damn you, Forza 6!

thanks, flashmouth!

Welcome home son, welcome home..

:)

Is it worth getting FM5 now..?

Hmmm.......tough question.........

It doesn't really offer anything that you can't get elsewhere, but if you've got £'s burning a hole, go for it, it still looks decent, and always nice walking round the cars in Forzavista.
